In the super market today and heard a mum shout "beige" to her daughter...no joke! At first I thought I had misheard Paige...but no, definitely beige.

Got me thinking... what are the worst names you have come across?

Glitter Elowen pronounced as ell oh en is a Cornish name.

Elowan - this is a French name, so nice bit of racism there.

Anyone with Kai, Jayden, Hayden, Kayden, Kayleigh etc

well, there we go, just a few posts in and we are mud slinging already.

God forbid that someone who has named their child Jayden might possibly post on mn Hmm

I wouldn't say worst but the most unusual name I've heard is Dolphin (boy). The parents did shorten it to Fin to be fair, but still.

Elowan - this is a French name, so nice bit of racism there.

It's Welsh, and the French aren't a race.

CryingMessFFS haha my cousin has named her little girl Khaleesi. I don't watch GOT so had no idea where she got it from. It's awful, I keep pronouncing it wrong.

I went to school with a girl called Golden...

When I was expecting twins, I collected awful twinsets. Janet and Jonet (pronounced John-et), Scarlet and Jezebel, Robin and Robina.
All perfectly fine on their own (well, maybe Jezebel might raise an eyebrow), but awful as pairs. I judged.

I also genuinely burst out laughing when someone shouted 'princess' in soft play. Thank god the woman who shouted it laughed and said she's a childminder and gets embarrassed shouting it herself 🙈

Super beagle - it is also a french name. (and as someone else has said Cornish apparently.
And the French may not be a race, but the point was made by another poster about criticising 'foreign' names and this falls into that category

Eritrea... as in the country
I love it. It works for India and Asia as a gepgraphocal name but is also a fairy out the cool show based on those books

I know a girl called Gay. She is constantly teased for it.

A man my DH works with named his son after all the players in the football team. Poor kid has about 15 names.

I think everyone has names that they can't stand that others think are lovely. If we were all the same then the world would be full of people all called the same.

I often look at people slavering over names on here that I think are hideous and I'm sure the reverse is true.

I find myself recommending names on the baby names threads that I wouldn't call a child in a million years but I suggest them becasue I think the OP might like them given the naming style they have.

I think sometimes though that people don't think about the fact that their child will be a baby for very short time, a child for a short time but an adult for decades.

Years ago, on a German parenting site, a poster announced the birth of her little daughter Nemesis.
I know in German Nemesis is just a Greek goddess and the word doesn't have the meaning it has in English but I did snigger when I read it.

I know a couple who named their children Scandinavian names, even though neither of them are from any of the countries. The surname is very English as well, think Bjork Smith.

Khaleesi is a bit silly

I agree WaxOn. - names like princess are hard to live up too when you are an adult.
