What the actual fuck?! I have just joined mumsnet and can say I will be leaving it after the negativity I've experienced. I joined expecting women helping women.
Women encouraging other women. Whether that's with their children, their marriage or their careers?! 'Insta mums' are mums who have decided a career in instagramming! And why the fuck not?! Before you ask no I am not an insta mum. Not that I wouldn't want to be - I just can't be bothered to tidy. But they do! They make their homes beautiful and enjoy decorating and showing their efforts off. Other women are inspired and they can bring many other women joy and happiness. Who are you bringing joy and happiness too? Going into the internet and plastering negative energy and bitter comments is not helpful, not nice and not at all fucking productive! You bitch about these women spending their days cleaning and shopping and not 'caring for thier kids' but how are you fucking idiots any better?!? Your too busy slagging off other hard working women to get your kicks. It's sad. Pathetic and downright bullying.
Something's that have been posted have hurt 'insta mums' and have caused upset - what have they actually done to you?? You are no better than the disgusting internet trolls who target celebrities or others who are slightly better looking or better off than yourselves. Get a grip.

I'm fully aware that I'm being unreasonable, but FOD's last post tipped me over the edge and I unfollowed.
It makes me more bitter and twisted. Me and dh have had, no joke, probably 3 individual nights away together in 18 years of parenting. We could really do with a fucking break, but the lack of support means it's almost impossible.

To see the smugness just killed me. Also his wording.... not 'we were given a free night away' but something or other like 'the opportunity came up'.

Rapidly unfollowing most of insta accounts that don't make me smile when I see them.

I noticed that MOD was on a Dorset Cereals freebie this week - l follow the Scummy Mummies and she was on their stories during the event. I noticed she didn't feature it at all on her page and was surprised, it's normally the type of thing she would stick on there - overnight stay, cocktails, other instamums, all the usual jazz.

I was wondering if she hadn't put it on there as she has been getting a bit of stick for the amount of freebies and ads she's featured recently - especially interesting decision as it was put on by Dorset Cereals and she has had a paid partnership with them.

I love seeing privileged people enjoying free shit. It makes me feel so warm inside. Said nobody, ever.

More interestingly, I notice MoD borrowing very heavily from the Motherpukka style of writing in her latest post. Watch your back Pukka!

That's really interesting about the Dorset Cereals thing and MOD.

Also, I'm fairly sure when FOD put the initial post up about their night away, it didn't say #ad. I saw the bit about "an opportunity came up" and immediately though "oh, another freebie then" - and then looked for the disclosure and didn't see anything. It does say #ad now though.

I unfollowed Scummy Mummies when they were plugging the Dorset Cereals thing I used to enjoy their account but they never 'fess up to their ads and freebies so I was done with them.

Yes I saw their spa day away with Dorset cereals. I’m pretty sure Dorset cereal mentioned fod’s Advert and got a lot of stick for it. Now I can’t seem to find the post anymore?

@Babaloo88 FOD's cereal post is an actual paid for Instagram ad so occasionally pops up on my feed even though I'm not following either of them, but isn't on either of their pages.

I saw it yesterday and the majority of comments underneath it are not complementary towards either FOD or DC. I wonder if the cereal company are actually regretting their partnership or if they think all publicity is good publicity.

It's a bit of a sad world we live in really. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer! I find it difficult to see a couple who haven't had a night off since August 2017 (yes 7 months ago!! Try 11 years) just got back from a family holiday of a lifetime and now need a night away, come on!

I also see it in the home accounts, they have big and lovely houses to start with. Then get free stuff thrown at them left, right and centre!

That's quite funny-the Dorset Cereals awful comments. I have bought it on occasion when it's on offer. But after their paid wanker-ship I wouldn't dream of buying it now! Aldo's muesli is fine for me I'll see how the next few days go but unfollowing the smugness may be necessary.
Perhaps MOD didn't mention An away night with Dorset Cereals because they begged her not to haha

Makes me wonder how my DM coped with four kids and no fancy mini breaks for about 18 years.

I'm disappointed the FOD ad hasn't appeared in my feed - I would have enjoyed reading the hate comments

Pavlova you make me laugh. I can't say I wouldn't take the opportunity for a night away if presented with a freebie (although, childcare is a real issue), but I certainly don't want one if I have to sacrifice the privacy of my children to be offered it.

Which leads me to the tired old debate of "you would do it if you had the chance". I actually wouldn't. Yes, I would love an all expenses paid holiday to Florida (my kids would love it, as would I), but actually, hand on heart, I would never put my children's right to privacy over a free holiday.

But that is me. And if truth be told, I really do believe that what suits me doesn't necessarily suit others.
Each to their own and all that. It is a really interesting debate, though, and I watch with interest as to the effects that this exposure will have on the kids.

I wish he'd stop using the word 'literally' when he means 'figuratively'. Of course you didn't both physically leap into the air when you arranged your freebie hotel.

So MoD has kept a trip with Dorset Cereals off her own feed .. guessing that Dorset are ok with that tactic.

MoD has had more nights in hotels in the last twelve months than I've ever had in my life. That's a fact!

I have noticed that FOD doesn't proof read his Instagram posts at all - they are always littered with typos and errors.

FOD is dyslexic I believe. He's mentioned it before when things have been pointed out.

People ask us how we keep our home tidy? Well with both of them working out of the home 1 day a week in their jobs, and FOD at home 4 days working, MOD being an author 4 days, twins in nursery, kids in private school, I would hope they flipping can stay on top of the housework with ease. He has enough time to spend hours shooting insane videos, he has enough time to tidy up. They are getting completely out of touch.
