To think Brigitte Macron is a pedophile

INFP · 26/08/2017 02:12

Apologies if this subject has been done before. But I came across an article where Brigitte Macron describes her love affair with her then 15 year old pupil where she goes on to say "when we became lovers is our secret".

AIBU to think this woman is a pedophile?

She actively groomed her FIFTEEN year old pupil. How is she different to Jeremy Forrest who was jailed for having a relationship with his pupil?

It is beyond disgusting.

Billing the state for her make-up Shock . At least Trump pays for his own fake tan lotion, At least I hope he does. Grin

BananaSandwichesEveryDay · 27/08/2017 11:46

Vivienne, I suspect he does indeed pay for his own fake tan. I read Nancy Reagan's autobiography a few years ago and it was quite enlighghtening on the subject of what the POTUS is expected to pay out of their salary compared to official expenses which are paid by the state. Also some interesting info about the gifts they are given in their official capacity and how they have to 'buy'them if it is something they want to keep for themselves. Not sure if it's the same now, but NR certainly would not have been able to charge makeup to the public purse.

Trump bashing is OK because he's a man

Rubbish

I have seen all sorts of derogatory comments made about female 'celebs' as well

Trump was off the too of my head due to the 'orange' comments referring to his skin colour

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 27/08/2017 12:11

Teresa May (whose appearance is regularly slated on here)

That was my point, comments about other people's appearance stands and a post on here was deleted

Sorry Gaelle1 post

That is because it is acceptable to make personal and derogatory remarks about those on the right of politics ( including mainstream right - I've seen plenty of derogatory personal attacks on what Cameron, Osbourne, Johnstone and Rees-Mogg look like) and/ or people MN don't like (Katie Hopkins, the Kardashians)

Theresa May has excellent dress sense. The leather trousers were a disaster but on the whole she chooses elegant , interesting and often quite unconventional clothes. She looks far better than Mme Macron. Theresa May knows that at 60 it is perfectly possible to be stylish, elegant and interested in fashion without pretending to be half your age.

Is that an ageist comment ? Possibly although I think a man of 64 who wore the male equivalent of much of what Macron wears would look as silly as she does.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 27/08/2017 12:38

lass

You know exactly what i mean

I have seen derogatory comments made about politicions appearance both female and male, left and right

I have seen derogatory comments made about sports peoples appearance both male and female in every sport

I have seen derogatory comments made about the appearance of pop stars both male and female and in all genres of music

I have seen derogatory comments made about the appearance of actors both male and female and in all genres of film and television

I have seen derogatory comments made about the appearance of members of British royalty both male and female

I have seen derogatory comments made about the appearance of 'celebrities' both male and female

Do let me know if i have missed anyone

To sum up mumsnet is full of snide comments about everyone Grin

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 27/08/2017 13:07

I agree attacks are made across the spectrum but certain groups are far less likely to have anyone then picking up on them.

For example Rees-Mogg wearing a suit and tie when he was at university was the subject of post after post of derision on a thread about him despite the MN mantra that everyone should be free to wear what they want.

swingofthings · 27/08/2017 13:24

So you're hatred for her comes from a traumatic experience Gaelle understandable that she would trigger such strong emotions in you. However one's personal experience doesn't mean all will be the same.

swingofthings, "However one's personal experience doesn't mean all will be the same."

What on heavens name do you mean?

Gaelle

Personally, although I found the beef jerky comment disgusting, I didn't report it. It's your opinion which you're entitled to. What happened to your family was disgusting and you have my sympathies.

I'm not making a judgement about BM, because I simply don't know enough about the case or the French reaction to the story. My thoughts were based purely on the little I do know, and it seems to me that French voters aren't bothered by it, or if they are, they're not very vocal about it.

Gaelle1 · 28/08/2017 21:59

BabychamSocialist, "French voters aren't bothered by it". We didn't vote for her. We voted for Macron. Our first choice was Fillon but story about paying his entire family just worse and worse. In order to truly ensure that Le Pen did not get to the top, we voted for Macron.

Voting for him does not mean that French are not 'bothered by it'. It being what BM - Mme. Auziere at that time did. If EM thinks that French voters who voted for him accept their 16 year old/41 year old affair as 'ok', then he isn't really as smart as everyone think he is.

VestalVirgin · 28/08/2017 23:31

At least Trump pays for his own fake tan lotion, At least I hope he does.

He doesn't. Read an article on how he cheats the state out of loads of money by making the taxpayer pay for him staying at hotels which ... are owned by him.
So, he travels across the US, okay, and the taxpayer pays for his hotels, okay ... until you notice that the money goes straight back to him.(And apparently the POTUS is entitled to stay at hotels that are that expensive)

Sorry, but Trump isn't better than Brigitte Macron in any way whatsoever. Including the "pedophile" bit.

There is, however a very big difference between a head of state who is (possibly) the victim of grooming and married to someone who is possibly a hebephile (possibly, as it doesn't look like she intends to replace him with a younger man ...), and a head of state who is himself not only a "pedophile" (hebephile) but also proudly tells the world that he sexually assaults women.

No Thank You Family GIF by HBO Max

Ummm. Prepubescent? Ok. My child is 14. He is a child. The woman actually started a relationship with him when he was 14 not 15 as they like to say ( to keep it at age of consent in France) it is immortal and corrupt. So how mental are you to refer to definitions..do you understand MORALS.OR IS THAT PASSE...!!!

Ceto · 11/03/2023 14:04

Why are you arguing with someone from 6 years ago?

The French have a sexual culture of Lolitas remember. They fantasise about sex with those 'just' or 'barely' coming into biological sexual maturation.

The age of consent in Japan is 12. Does that mean it's ok for a 49 year old teacher in Japan to have sex with their 12 year old pupil?

Depends on Japanese laws.

Macron seems quite happy in his relationship so it's none of our business.

My DH had a college friend who went off with his music teacher. Admittedly he was a student by then so about 20. Funnily enough my DH came across their son a couple of decades later when he was working in the same firm.
