To think Brigitte Macron is a pedophile

Apologies if this subject has been done before. But I came across an article where Brigitte Macron describes her love affair with her then 15 year old pupil where she goes on to say "when we became lovers is our secret".

AIBU to think this woman is a pedophile?

She actively groomed her FIFTEEN year old pupil. How is she different to Jeremy Forrest who was jailed for having a relationship with his pupil?

It is beyond disgusting.

Oh ok cool then coin, you're a paedophile apologist then.

bambambini · 27/08/2017 08:00

And I can't get worked up about a moher here whose had to deal with her child being groomed and abused- getting upset and saying something derogatory about another child groomer/abuser who not only got away with it - but gets feted and defended.

Wonder what the reactions would have been if BM looked like Waynetta Slob.

Spot on bambambini

Papafran, about my use of beefjerky. It does sound extreme and I am sure I will end up the same since I will likely end up retiring near a beach and I love the sun.

I should have rephrase it to something that I also do think about which is that: "she could strive to be respectable if she did not try so hard to look so young, exposing body parts that are best left covered. And if he adores her for what she is, then she should dress as she would normally do so she can feel good under her skin and would not look quite odd."

I don't know if it is a common thing to do for people that like to be with younger people (i.e. pedophiles), but one thing I noticed is that our abuser was the same. He dressed himself to look young and to be 'cool'.
And yes, I have a visceral dislike for her specially when she brags about her 'conquest' of Macron.

If you mean Gaell's deleted post I agree. It is a pity she said it because it was so gleefully grabbed by the apologists on this thread but whether it is insulting to Mme Macron I don't particularly care.

Gaelle1 · 27/08/2017 09:27

I assure you that I didn't delete my own post. If that post was considered reportable in this forum, then I can only say that the deletion is quite hypocritical considering that a few here actually 'do not have a problem' with what this dreadful woman, BM, did because there was no lawsuit against her.

I happen to believe that 'suppression' of people's point of view is what caused the democrats in the united states the seat at the white house. Suppression brings silence but silence does not necessarily mean inaction.

Papafran · 27/08/2017 09:31

No, I get it Gaelle, but I think BM is dislikeable because of what she has done, not because of what she looks like. Anyway, I can understand the sentiment, but it just seemed like such an ageist comment. Anyway, it has now been deleted, so forget about it. Smile

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 27/08/2017 09:32

Agree with bambam

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 27/08/2017 09:38

While i think of iti think i have seen a lot worse insults and comments regarding physical appearance aimed at people in the news

I am thinking specifically of trump...

squishee · 27/08/2017 09:40

Because yahoo.fr is a reputable source of information Grin

Gaelle1 · 27/08/2017 09:41

Most of what she has announced just triggered many kind of nasty memories. When she said that "he was unlike any of his contemporaries in the lycee and that working with him was like working with mozart", our abuser also said this of my daughter "she was a Lolita" and she is extremely smart, got the best grades in her classes and knows what she was getting into.

BM also promptly announced after the election results that EM can make your dreams come true as he did with hers. Lately, she announced that she is proud of him because he is the best looking French president and the youngest.

Papafran · 27/08/2017 09:46

Gaelle, that is horrible and so disturbing. I think it's the abusers trying to justify in their minds that this wasn't an ordinary child they were seducing- this was someone special and gifted and therefore what they did was right. As if this makes up for what they did. I am afraid that he was just a 15 year old kid, whether or not he was above average intelligence. Awful. Flowers

Floellabumbags · 27/08/2017 09:50

The quote attributed to her that his only fault is that he's young is very disturbing. He's not at fault for being young, she's at fault for abusing a minor when she was in a position of trust.

ilovegin112 · 27/08/2017 09:59

It will be interesting to read the posts on here the next time a footballer or tv/radio presenter is accused of sleeping with an underage girl, I'm sure people will be as understanding as they have of Brigette

Ledehe · 27/08/2017 10:00

Surely we can all agree that a 40 year old being sexually attracted to a 15 year old is disgusting.

Gaelle1 · 27/08/2017 10:10

Floellabumbags, I agree. Again, it is a common theme. Although she said it as a joke, child abusers who are in control somehow always point to the younger one as an accomplice.

She actually said that he pursued her. If she were in her right mind and if it is true that he pursued her, I'm sure this 'pursuit' would promptly be called 'stalking' if she would have acted appropriately. Obviously also not consistent with her tearful declaration to his parents that she cannot promise to leave him alone before they sent him off to Paris.

MissEliza · 27/08/2017 10:14

Yes Ledehe I don't know why this has prompted such a debate.

expatinscotland · 27/08/2017 10:21

Mary Kay Letourneau did just this, too. Her victim just wasn't like other 12-year-olds, he pursued her, she couldn't stay away (even on release from jail when she contrived to meet up with him and conceived their second child). She's an abuser just like all the rest of the scumbags.

Viviennemary · 27/08/2017 10:22

Trump bashing is OK because he's a man. This woman is no better because she's a woman. Let's not have double standards.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 27/08/2017 10:29

Don't we mock Trump and his orange face and comb over all the time

I find it strange how many female journalists are fawning over her the same journaliats would be disgusted if the situation was the other way round and certainly not commenting on how well husband with a much younger wife looks

Hasn't she done what so many of us despise to see men do regardless how the relationship is years later

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 27/08/2017 10:35

It seems to be perfectly fine on here to make ageist and/or derogatory comments about personal appearance if the person is male and/or right wing and/or is deemed to be unlikable for other reasons.

Gaelle1 · 27/08/2017 10:36

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed, I couldn't agree more. Each time I read about her being admired, it stirs up something awful.

CourtneyLoveIsMySpiritAnimal · 27/08/2017 10:38

It's interesting that you should say that. When I googled the age difference between BM and EM, a whole raft of newspaper articles came up comparing them to Trump and Melania, and praising BM for 'catching', as it were, a younger man like Macron. The tone of the pieces were along the lines of 'you go, girl!'.

I don't think anyone here would give a shit if EM had been late 20's when he got together with BM (similar to Trump and Melania). But the fact is Brigitte Macron actively pursued a relationship with a teenage boy.

Gaelle1 · 27/08/2017 11:03

CourtneyLoveIsMySpiritAnimal , "I don't think anyone here would give a shit if EM had been late 20's when he got together with BM (similar to Trump and Melania). But the fact is Brigitte Macron actively pursued a relationship with a teenage boy."

This is what brought me to forums such as mumsnet. It is incredulousness that BM is being feted about. EM actually had the gall to cry 'sexism' against his wife.

I wanted to know if society has truly degraded to accept this child abuse if it came from a woman. For me and for all those that have been abused as a child, it is absolutely important to not make a mistake of accepting the 'laundering' of BM's image.

VelvetSpoon · 27/08/2017 11:22

I do wonder whether if BM looked like Teresa May (whose appearance is regularly slated on here) whether responses to her would be different?

I worry they would be. Just as if Trump looked like George Clooney people would be worryingly more tolerant of him.
