Near the end of the book ( which I'll admit now I didn't think was very good after the initial premise & is a bit of a cop out really) there is however, a page or so, where 'Mac' explains (rants) at the two conspirators as to why the 'president' was elected and is still loved by a certain section of the population. It is probably the single most depressing, terrifying yet accuarate thing I've ever read and, even more horrifyingly looking at what us happening in Britain too, probably applies to more than just the America section of that population. It fills me with fear about the future..... how the f* did we end up here??
