I'm probably going to get a Mumsnet lecture: however I think strangers asking to take pictures of my son when we're out for a family meal every single weekend and for others to join our table to pet my son like he's a puppy is overstepping boundaries. Am I wrong ?? A: he's not a dog so petting him is just weird and b:he is my child he's not an art piece so strangers taking photos are a complete Nono.

Honestly don't know what I have just read! Special aura? 230 people laughing with your child? I think you need a visit to gp or therapist asap Confused

ThinkOfTheHorses · 03/08/2017 20:41

I'm blonde and DP is ginger and we sometimes get the unrequested Japanese/Chinese/Vietnamese tourist photos.
But other than that I have never seen this happen. No matter how sweet and adorable another's child was I wouldn't want a picture ...

ScrambledSmegs · 03/08/2017 20:42

I once had a large crowd of tourists surrounding DD's pram in Carnaby Street, all taking photos. I ended up diving into a shop to get away from them. It was the weirdest thing.

She was a cute baby but then I've not met many babies who aren't cute. Christ knows what that lot were smoking. Probably whatever you're on, OP Grin

to be fair some kids are more photogenic, like this one

IonaMumsnet but I'm very offended. Not only did the OPs DC get more attention than mine, but she also didn't share with us what fantastic stuff she'd been drinking! Wink

House4 · 03/08/2017 20:47

Pls don't delete this thread. It's the hardest I've laughed all day 😂

Juicylucy1800 · 03/08/2017 20:52

It's bonkers the world some people live in , inside their own head!

heateallthebuns · 03/08/2017 20:53

A tourist once took a photo of my dp because he had an Ireland rugby shirt on and he looks like a leprechaun

ShesABloodyLoon · 03/08/2017 20:53

To be fair, DD (now 10) started laughing loudly in the queue at Marks & Spencer's when she was about 18 months. She was hitting her daddy and howling with laughter when he said "Ow". That set me off laughing. Then MIL. Eventually most of the people around us queuing were laughing too and the cashier couldn't scan our food thanks to the tears from laughing. It was pretty funny. A weird moment to be sure.

Still didn't get 230 people laughing and not one single photo was taken. I think maybe my daughter's aura was on the fritz that day. Darn.
And DD wasn't even that adorable as a toddler really, we just had a funny 10 minutes in a shop. Once.

I want some of what OP is on. It might make my 3 kids seem less annoying over the school holidays...

I’m not clear whether the vintage horse is a toy rocking horse or just a really old nag. Sad that I’ll probably never find out Sad

Then again it's never happened so maybe my kids just have shit auras instead.

Grin haha!!!!!

RebelRogue · 03/08/2017 21:11

Put a brown paper bag on his head. Do auras show through brown paper bags?

BanjoPier · 03/08/2017 21:11

Why am I imagining the OP singing The Carpenters "Close to You" to her PFB 24/7

#On the day that you were born, the angels got together and decided to create a dream come trrrruuuueeee. So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair and golden starlight in your eyes of bllllluuuueeeee....waaaaahhhhaaaa, close to yooouuuuuu..."Grin

nonstop84 · 03/08/2017 21:13

I've heard it all now...aura lmao

ghostyslovesheets · 03/08/2017 21:19

special baby aura - like a halo? are you a virgin OP?

Oldbutstillgotit · 03/08/2017 21:20

A few years ago my DH wore his kilt to Wimbledon as we had tickets to see Andy Murray. Several tourists asked him for his photo but I am not convinced that he had a special aura . Just a kilt. 😂

emilybrontescorset · 03/08/2017 21:23

Have we sussed whether the op is a member of the British royal family yet?

Girty999 · 03/08/2017 21:30

Wtf??? Seriously?????

OfaFrenchmind2 · 03/08/2017 21:35

As long as 3 rich dudes don't come bearing gifts of gold, myrr and incense, you have a very ordinary kid. With a cool toy.

coffeekittens · 03/08/2017 21:36

OPs son is clearly the milky bar kid.

On a serious note I'll have whatever he/she's on.

Ghjklf · 03/08/2017 21:45

I'm waiting for the punch line.

BabychamSocialist · 03/08/2017 21:45

Someone should nominate this for classics.
