I'm probably going to get a Mumsnet lecture: however I think strangers asking to take pictures of my son when we're out for a family meal every single weekend and for others to join our table to pet my son like he's a puppy is overstepping boundaries. Am I wrong ?? A: he's not a dog so petting him is just weird and b:he is my child he's not an art piece so strangers taking photos are a complete Nono.

I had this with ds. He was the spitting image of a particular Hollywood couples dd.

He used to do a lot of child modelling and was looked so much like this girl that i was flicking through a magazine one day in the doctors and saw the mum of this famous couple holding hands with "ds". I was sat looking at this picture thinking when did ds do this picture. it took a fair few seconds before the penny dropped that it was in fact a picture of the dd of this couple.

Ds is now a 6ft, 15 year old who wants to pursue a career in plumbing.

It's perfectly normal op I see this everywhere we go, people flocking to take random kids pictures cos they are sooooooooooo cute.

Not

RortyCrankle · 03/08/2017 20:00

Have I stepped into the Twilight Zone? 230 people simultaneously burst into laughter when your DS laughed? Wow how to harness the power? Maybe you could make a fortune renting him out to unhappy people to make them laugh Grin

HooplaLoopla1 · 03/08/2017 20:01

In this day and age, I don't think anyone would ask to take pictures of a totally random strangers kid would they?!

Willow2017 · 03/08/2017 20:01

Did you count the hotel guests?

Salmotrutta · 03/08/2017 20:01

Must be quite young to fit in a vintage toy horse?

Miserylovescompany2 · 03/08/2017 20:01

Is your son a reincarnation of little lord Fauntleroy?

Or maybe you've read a sorry whilst sniffing glue and are in the midst of some kind of hallucination/psychotic break?

fatowl · 03/08/2017 20:02

Hahahahaha

This is an absolute classic PFB post.
I hope it is a joke, otherwise I pity the poor teachers when Jesus/Damien goes to school. Can you just imagine the AIBU post then, "What can I do, the teacher doesn't seem to understand how how precious he is?"

In case it isn't a joke, OP, we lived in Asia when my blond DD was a toddler. People used to ask for photos and to stroke her head, because it is auspicious to touch a "golden child"'. I sometimes used to say yes, usually dependent on how politely they asked and what sort of day we were having. She never got an audience of 230 though, must be her lack of aura

MadamePomfrey · 03/08/2017 20:04

Aww Kate you are going to have to do better hiding yourself on line.... i fairness if you invite press into your house they are going to take pictures

Just to give OP the benefit of the doubt, it used to grind my gears a bit when people would stop me in the street to fuss and coo over my PFB too. Probably because I was sleep-deprived and a bit precious/protective.

Never got papped though. But then we never owned an antique horse on wheels either.

If you are bring small blonde children including a set of identical twins to certain places in Asia I can sympathise. My children were driven mad by people wanting selfies with them and rubbing their heads.

Out2pasture · 03/08/2017 20:05

OP I believe you are infatuated with your son and probably believe this phenomena.

Willow2017 · 03/08/2017 20:05

Unless this is your baby then I suspect its not true Smile

Is this one of these threads where the OP is pretending to be somebidy vaguely famous or from a soap?

Well if the football squad all love him then it must be true Confused

Stressalot42 · 03/08/2017 20:12

Stop talking bollocks op!

IonaMumsnet · 03/08/2017 20:14

Evening all. Thanks for the reports on this one. We're not sure what's going on here to be honest and it looks like the OP has gone now, so we guess it will remain one of life's mysteries. As it doesn't seem to be particularly offensive we're going to leave it where it is for now.

BloodWorries · 03/08/2017 20:14

Get him into acting or modeling or something. You'll be raking it in!
