Ra-Ra skirts, jelly bags ( I'd love another one) pedal pushers. Neon socks and neon fingerless gloves. Black fishnet tights with white stilettos!
Then moved onto my Desperately Seeking Susan phase of black lace gloves and backcombed hair

picklemepopcorn · 30/07/2017 08:34

Royal blue dungarees with a wide pink belt, matching feather dangly earrings.

White pixie boots...

Middleoftheroad · 30/07/2017 08:35

I also wore leggings with Hyroglyphics on (walk like an egyptian was out)

Prior to that, tops with Chinese/Manafin writing on were a thing too...

CKBluebell · 30/07/2017 08:36

I wore a banana clip in my hair progressing to an old scarf/rag like Madonna.
I also had a jacket very similar to the one she wore in Desperately Seeking Susan.
I was the bees knees me.

Veronicat · 30/07/2017 08:36

And Yes to pinafores. I loved mine. It was pastel pink.

MagicMojito · 30/07/2017 08:36

I had a matching full pvc fringed hot pink matching vest top/crop pants combi that i felt a million bucks in Blush

Eastpoint · 30/07/2017 08:36

Pedal pushers a bit like pirate pantaloons
Rara skirt
Batwing jumper
Puffball dress
Ski pants/leggings
Navy & white striped pie crust collar shirt (at work) with a navy skirt
Home made lace skirt trying to copy Madonna's style around 1982/3.

SpottedGingham · 30/07/2017 08:38

Oversized "Relax" t-shirt
Rara skirt
Pedal pushers
Skin tight jeans
Ski pants

Not all at the same time though!

Anasnake · 30/07/2017 08:39

Jelly bean shoes and bags (that everything fell out of), plastic dangly earrings in bright colours, fluorescent odd socks and fingerless gloves (one pink, one yellow),ski pants, velvet pedal pushers and waistcoats, high neck princess Di blouse with matching hairdo, ra ra skirts, puffballs, candy stripe trousers, sailor hats and fergie bows - I'd go back to the 80's in a shot !

SpottedGingham · 30/07/2017 08:40

Jelly sandals
Plastic open bags

Ra Ra skirt. Jellybean shoes
LordPercy · 30/07/2017 08:40

Christmastree43 · 30/07/2017 08:41

90s babies - trouser skirts - I had a silver one for the millennium Grin and those massively flared jeans!

MagicMojito · 30/07/2017 08:43

Also giant black moon boots spice girls stylee

Bigoldsupermoon · 30/07/2017 08:45

Think I'm a different era 😂

  • A lilac shellsuit
  • A skintight body (one of those tips with the poppers at the crotch) and a patchwork waistcoat over the top
  • Big fat scrunchies
  • White ankle socks wrinkled down over black tights, for school
  • A black velvet choker with a dangly silver heart charm
  • Fabric coveted Alice band - used to slide it on then push it forward a wee bit so I got that puff of hair at the front
  • Giant flared jeans that soaked up all the rain and got holes in the bottom

WE LOOKED SO GOOD 😂

MagicMojito · 30/07/2017 08:46

Ooooooh christmas I forgot all about trouser skirts 😍😍 I LOVED my silver/grey pair!

user1487671808 · 30/07/2017 08:49

I loved teabag tops and have a couple of slightly more grown up ones from Next and Fat Face still in the wardrobe. Ra ra skirts, pedal pushers (did nothing for my chunky calves), neon baggy tshirts with matching plastic jewellery and ankle socks. skinny jeans (proper denim) that you had to wear wet to shrink to fit and then could only do up by lying on the floor and struggling into. Pinstriped jeans which were particularly awful. White stilettos with very pointy toes. Leg warmers worn with lots of different outfits. Pixie boots and pointy shoes with little kitten heels.

The eighties were a strange decade for fashion which seemed to change constantly and very little of it was actually good but I remember it fondly. I don't think we were as 'uniformed' as today's teens but that could be a rose tinted memory.

Bluntness100 · 30/07/2017 08:50

Leg warmers, pedal pushers, ra ra skirts, stone wash jeans. I do recall trying on a puff ball skirt in top shop and thinking how daft I looked and not buying it.

I also had a pair of three quarter length trousers, where one older gent charmingly told me I looked like a little huckleberry fin. 😂

Bigoldsupermoon · 30/07/2017 08:51

And I almost forgot (the horror is returning to me...)

  • super low jeans with a bodice style fasten instead of a zip
  • mid-calf suedette boots that I used to push down for the optimum slouch effect
  • highly elasticated satin thongs, because UTIs were all the rage
