My vagina is on fire !! Help

Iamembarrassed · 25/07/2017 11:52

Not literally you understand but more of omg it's beyond ridiculous type pain.
I have just finished a course of antibiotics/painkillers and got what I thought was thrush so brought some canesten and thought that would do it, however it has done nothing and i have the most intense itching/pressure/feeling like I've had intense sex/burning feeling that is going no where!
I have slept with a ice pack in between my legs and have seriously contemplated putting Ice in my vagina at this point.

Any solutions wise mumsnetters ... there are no doctors appointments for 4 days, no walk in clinic nearby and the pharmacist said they weren't sure as they can't examine me ... if I have to last four days like this I may kill someone

I'm allergic to canestan so have used the oral drug flucanasole, available at Boots etc. I use a gentle calendula ointment locally. Also the old fashioned remedy was live yoghurt directly applied.

If you ever find your vagina in a burning inferno try Multi-Gyn Actigel. Acts much faster than Canesten.

Blu99 · 26/07/2017 19:16

Burning inferno again*

Plain live yogurt applied internally with a syringe.

You probably don't need to be told this, but dont use strawberry yogurt. My friend did.

catsaresomucheasier2 · 26/07/2017 20:43

I was told to drink PRObiotic drinks when on anti biotics, because of what ANTI biotics do to the good bacteria in your body, which you need. Maybe Yakult or something? 😱

I could have written this post, I am currently sitting here on fire! The thing is I still have a few days left on my antibiotics, does anyone know if I can use thrush treatments at the same?

helenlsmith · 26/07/2017 21:53

i find drinking cranberry juice helps, also natural yoghurt smeared over my bits.

Maria1982 · 26/07/2017 21:54

bubbles yes you can take thrush treatment while taking antibiotics.

DJBaggySmalls · 26/07/2017 21:55

Dont take pro biotics if you are taking antibiotics for a bacterial infection. Pro biotics feed all bacteria, not just the friendly ones. Wait til the infection clears up and you finish the course, then use them.

Pollydonia · 26/07/2017 22:05

Glad your fanjo fire is out op. I was wincing at the suggestion of vinegar, if I splashed that on when I had thrush they'd be peeling me off the ceiling 😰

kali110 · 26/07/2017 22:18

I was always told to not take any thrush treatment till antiobiotics are over, incase it comes back

Waterlemon · 26/07/2017 22:33

I'm glad you're feeling better!

I get recurring thrush. When I have a bad bout, I take an oral tablet plus a pessary, then repeat a pessary after a couple of days if need be. A single tablet or pessary in no good for me.

They key is then to restore your fango ph levels to prevent it coming back!

I take strong probiotics daily and also another recommendation for multigyn actigel If the thrush is very active, it can sting like hell, but soon stops. I use it daily, then every3 days, then once a week. I normally use a syringe (an old kids medicine one lol) and apply 2.5ml, I find its just enough to do the job without leaking out! Sorry if tmi!
They also make a product specifically for thrush, but it's sold in individual tubes, so works out very expensive. I do find it works slightly better, but not enough to warrant the price! I also use it alongside the oral tablet and pessary. I find during bad bouts the pessarys don't dissolve very well, but the actigel helps to soften it. I also use it as lube as I'm far too scared to se anything else down there these days!

although after typing all of that advice, I really hope you won't need it!

Buy a douche bag or a very large syringe from a chemist.
Buy a bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide [ 3% or 6%]
Buy Organic Apple cider vinegar[Sainsburys or Health Store]
Buy Large bottle of flat Spring water, or boil tap water and cool.
Mix 200 ml Hydrogen Peroxide @ 3% [ 100 ml if at 6 % ] with 200 ml water and 200 ml Apple Cider Vinegar.
Lie down in a dry bath, Fill the Douche Bag with the mixture and gently flush the liquid into the vagina. Lift legs up onto side of bath to keep liquid inside for a couple of minutes and then stand, let mix run out, repeat until mix is finished. Then flush Vagina gently with pure boiled cool water. This will flush out all the dead Candida cells, the relief is instant.
Buy a vaginal ream such as Replens, but try to introduce some good flora back into the gut and vagina.
For me I used a vaginal pessary, but it made the vagina swell and was not good for me.
I found Vagisan applied to the vulva[ not vagina]a great help to stop the itch and burning.
But thrush is killed instantly by the mix, and it should not sting you.

Shock
Goldiloz · 27/07/2017 06:06

I suffer from lichen sclerosus and for ages I was told it was thrush. It started with one awful bout of itching that I still remember vividly. You would need steriod cream to get rid of it though.

Ticketybootoo · 27/07/2017 07:53

Drink plenty of still water and eat natural yogurt too . Hope you soon feel better - it's not pleasant if any things wrong down there

bsbabas · 27/07/2017 10:45

Go to a&e now

bubbles19 · 27/07/2017 17:55

Mine has also calmed down luckily, the odd itch but nothing more. I think I will definitely take probiotics when I have finished my antibiotics to help restore everything

Haffiana · 27/07/2017 18:24

FFS ignore all the 'Candida' advice on here. The bloody internet needs locking up for all the myths, legends, crap and extremely dangerous crap spouted and repeated about supposed 'Candida'.

panzotti · 28/07/2017 15:37

Had it several times. You possibly have both thrush ( candidosis) and an urinary infection.
The best way to treat this is buying some green clay ( argile vert). Put six tablespoons in a pan full of water, let it sit for a few hours and then make some irrigations into your vagina ( there are some small red pumps for sale and work for the purpose). This gives immediate relief but has to bendoen for a few days in a row.
Also. Put one tablespoon of clay in one glass of water, let it rest overnight and in the morning drink the water.
Avoid carbs and sugar for a while ( think of it as a beauty diet).
No synthetics nor trousers for a while.
Drink plenty of chamomile and herbal tea. No choc no alchol.
Yogurt gives a little relief as does a bath with salt and 5 drops of tea tree oil.
Then go to the doctor!

WomblingThree · 28/07/2017 17:05

Read the bloody thread ffs!

SplodgyNurdle · 31/07/2017 15:05

Going to sound weird. But some privacy, and air it to the world (well with the curtains pulled). And keep doing what you're doing. Also call the Out of Hours Doctors, they might be able to give proper advice over the phone even if you can't get anywhere to get help.

I would suggest you continue to a a doctor or sex specialist
