Not literally you understand but more of omg it's beyond ridiculous type pain.
I have just finished a course of antibiotics/painkillers and got what I thought was thrush so brought some canesten and thought that would do it, however it has done nothing and i have the most intense itching/pressure/feeling like I've had intense sex/burning feeling that is going no where!
I have slept with a ice pack in between my legs and have seriously contemplated putting Ice in my vagina at this point.

Any solutions wise mumsnetters ... there are no doctors appointments for 4 days, no walk in clinic nearby and the pharmacist said they weren't sure as they can't examine me ... if I have to last four days like this I may kill someone

Its just bad thrush, a common side effect of antibiotics. I get it every time i have anti biotics! Loads of canesten 2% thrush cream slathered all over your fanjo. Another pessary, make sure its in far enough and put it in just before bed. You need a doc appt anyway though in case the 3rd try doesnt work.

Mooey89 · 25/07/2017 12:17

Have you had unprotected sex recently?

I've heard of the initial Herpes break out being like this.
I would go to gum clinic anyway because it's wall in, if it's thrush they can prescribe but they can check it's not more sinister

NotMyPenguin · 25/07/2017 12:18

Get an emergency appointment at a GUM clinic! They are way better than the GP about solving this kind of problem and you should be able to be seen more quickly. Good luck, it sounds horrid!

Have you tried the stuff for bacterial vaginosis? That can itch like crazy too. Its in the same place as the canestan in boots. You can get a kit to test which one you have, thrush or BV.

Mummyoflittledragon · 25/07/2017 12:23

I use the syringe thingy for kids medicine like calpol instead of a tampon to insert natural yogurt up my chuff.

Iamembarrassed · 25/07/2017 12:27

I'm going to try all of these things !! It is just a bad storm of things that caused it I think I was on two forms of antibiotics and had my period and so now here we are. To top it off I will probably have to have more antibiotics as the infection in my jaw appears to have not gone !! I swear If I didn't have bad luck I would have no luck

Mummyoflittledragon · 25/07/2017 12:28

I had a jaw infection a few years ago. It takes time unfortunately.

Loopytiles · 25/07/2017 12:29

If it's thrush the canesten creams won't treat it, just help v slightly , and you sometimes need more than one oral tablet and/or pessary.

Oldraver · 25/07/2017 12:31

I've just started a course of anti-biotics.. 4 x 500mg for severn days.

It wasn't until I picked up the prescription that I thought...fuck me, he comes thrush.

The pro-biotics I've seen mentioned, what kind would you get (never bought them before)

JaneEyre70 · 25/07/2017 12:31

Natural live yogurt in copious amounts inside and out, and you can also get something called Multi-Gyn Actigel (Boots) which is a natural remedy and very very soothing to use inside. If I get thrush from antibiotics, it takes usually 3 or 4 nights of pessaries and the external cream to even begin to touch the sides, and it has lasted a week or more. And you've probably reacted to the Germolene, I don't think it's recommended for your foof!! Don't use soap or bubble bath, use a feminine wash as it's gentler. It's bloody miserable, OP, hope it gets better quickly for you.

kali110 · 25/07/2017 12:34

Pessary, the oral thrush tablet never works for me,and or the thrush INTERNAL cream.

Winterc00kie · 25/07/2017 12:35

Just make sure if you use a calpol syringe you chuck it afterwards!

Shock
kali110 · 25/07/2017 12:36

I get it everytime i have antibiotics. It got to the stage where i was taking two of the oral thrush tablets and still needing a pessary.
Now i just get the cream or pessary.

MrsPringles · 25/07/2017 12:36

Op, could it be herpes? It's bloody awful but there are usually blisters with that though

GeminiRising · 25/07/2017 12:37

Gemini I am on day 4 and feel like I may murder someone I don't know how you made it to day five !!

With a lot of random scratching and moving around in my seat! Blush

Are you applying the external cream 2-3 times a day? You have to keep going with that, it will get easier. The natural yoghurt will help with that 'internal' itch.

Also don't use any soaps when washing, just use water.

Iamembarrassed · 25/07/2017 12:42

So if anyone sees a harassed woman buying live yoghurt, bacterial vaginitis cream?, more canesten, a bottle of calpol (for the syringe), ice and a cheesecake walking like John Wayne you'll know it's me !! Thank god for self service checkouts because frankly I don't think I could face a checkout person with this shopping !!

OP posts:
MondieBee · 25/07/2017 12:44

Ask for GYNODAKTARIN INTERNAL CREAM. You can get a tub and a box of applicators and use it for at least several days. So much better than canesten imo.

MondieBee · 25/07/2017 12:45

Also you need to wash all towels/sheets/underwear that you've used on a hot wash

romany4 · 25/07/2017 12:45

Canestan burns my delicate lady bits so I use diprobase cream instead. Am fine with the pessary

fishonabicycle · 25/07/2017 12:46

Cystitis? That is awful - burny, need to wee but no wee there.

GreatFuckability · 25/07/2017 12:47

don't put cheesecake up your floof.

But seriously OP, that sounds awful. i hope you get sorted soon!

Milkshakebelly · 25/07/2017 12:49

Sounds like herpes to me. Lay dormant with me for years after a cheating boyfriend infected me unbeknown to me and came to light 2 years later when I had been celibate for a year. I didn't believe them when they told me it was herpes because I hadn't had sex for over a year but unfortunately as I said it can lay dormant. If it is that I feel your pain because it's literally the worst pain I've ever had - even worse than childbirth I would say

imamouseduh · 25/07/2017 12:51

As others have said get the Canestan pessary from the chemist - I find it works better than the capsule. For immediate relief stand in the bathtub with a cold tub of natural yoghurt (cold, cold from the fridge) and scoop it up over your vulva with a clean hand, almost as if you are washing with it. The relief is instant and the coldness will provide a numbing effect too. Repeat every few hours. But I find this only helps the symptoms, you will need the Canestan to actually treat the thrush.

Bujinkhal · 25/07/2017 12:54

There's a slight chance you have Lichen Sclerosus from what you describe. Have a good look, any colour changes or loss of skin? It's more common post menopause but even children can get it.

Get checked out by your GP if you suspect it may be.
