My vagina is on fire !! Help

Not literally you understand but more of omg it's beyond ridiculous type pain.
I have just finished a course of antibiotics/painkillers and got what I thought was thrush so brought some canesten and thought that would do it, however it has done nothing and i have the most intense itching/pressure/feeling like I've had intense sex/burning feeling that is going no where!
I have slept with a ice pack in between my legs and have seriously contemplated putting Ice in my vagina at this point.

Any solutions wise mumsnetters ... there are no doctors appointments for 4 days, no walk in clinic nearby and the pharmacist said they weren't sure as they can't examine me ... if I have to last four days like this I may kill someone

Natural yoghurt is the way to go. big hugs

donajimena · 25/07/2017 21:29

Oh my god and still people are telling you to put stuff up your fanjo.
Vinegar? Yeah given your inflammation that would be such a great idea Confused

Easilyflattered · 25/07/2017 21:40

I suggested the gum clinic because I'd spent 30 quid already to no avail, and paying a prescription charge to get something that was the right stuff made financial sense.

Husband would have had some explaining to do if it was herpes.

But apparently there are different types of candida, and if you've got an exotic type then the over the counter stuff might not be enough.

I was mortified but they were very sympathetic about my poor vag.

TheImprobableGirl · 25/07/2017 21:43

Oooh I have something new to suggest popping up your fanjo! Fill a condom with water, not too full mind, and then freeze it. Sort of like a vagina/vulva pop! Will stop the ice burn

donajimena · 25/07/2017 23:35

improbable that is genius !!

TheImprobableGirl · 26/07/2017 00:14

Well I wouldn't go that far, but it's soothed many a burning fanjo that I've known of Wink

Confused009 · 26/07/2017 07:05

Make sure you are not using perfumed fabric conditioner or biological powder to wash your underwear

Over time I became very sensitive to both and if o stupidly use either it always brings me out in intense irritation, ithching, that typical cottage cheese discharge and essentially thrush which is eradicated by avoidance and cannesten cream.

Another condition to watch out for is lichen planus.

Confused009 · 26/07/2017 07:07

Also only gentle douching with water! I am a fan of scented bath bubbles and shower gels too but they can also really really irritate the vagina and it's flora

kaytee87 · 26/07/2017 07:46

Do not douche!!! Worst thing you can do.
Get a caneston pessary

GoldenHoops · 26/07/2017 07:54

I take a antihistamine and wash with aqueous cream and rinse with cold water. It really soothes it.

Thekitten · 26/07/2017 08:01

Bloody hell, I hope you're not still putting things up your vag and you're going to a doctor today! It sounds like an allergic reaction to something you've tried, and putting anything else up there is going to make it worse until you know exactly what you're dealing with! (That said I'm not a Dr so I'm guessing at allergic reaction, it could be anything. So see a Dr!)
Get thee to a Dr, get tested, use what they prescribe and fgs when you're better do not, I repeat, do not do vaginal steaming as suggested by a pp. Vaginas do not need steaming!

Iamembarrassed · 26/07/2017 15:10

I know your all waiting with baited breath to know about my vagina and you'll be glad to know it is no longer on fire.

All the canesten thrush stuff, natural yoghurt, eating a cheesecake, dying my hair and ice worked !!

I did not try the vinager because ouch no way, I did not try steaming because no, I did not douche because that's not something you should ever do and I did not use coconut oil !!

Bluerose27 · 26/07/2017 16:14

Bluerose27 · 26/07/2017 16:14

I'm glad the fire has stopped!!!

Confused009 · 26/07/2017 16:49

Good for you
I confused he term douch with wash... I meant gentle wash with water now that I know what douche means!

grommy · 26/07/2017 17:27

? herpes

grommy · 26/07/2017 17:29

you need urgent doctors appointment, please insist

Newmanwannabe · 26/07/2017 17:40

I am glad you feel better. I have used cold diluted white vinegar before soaked in a tampon during a time of desperation... it actually is soothing. I think it changes the ph which helps kill off the thrush? Doctor mumsnetters is it that bad a thing to do?

GinaFordCortina · 26/07/2017 17:42

Glad the cheesecake work but why in gods name didn't you see a doctor today?

Angeldt · 26/07/2017 17:53

If it hurts when you wee - get a jug of warm water a pour it on yourself (obvious place ) as you go. It dilutes the urine and soothes at the same time.

pollymere · 26/07/2017 17:57

Bicarb bath, try to avoid eating yeast and sugar. Lots of Vaseline if you can bear it.

Laine21 · 26/07/2017 18:08

Have you taken any antihistamines? If not then you may want to get some to take. If you have an out of hours drop in centre, they could prescribe a strong one, otherwise buy some from local chemist or supermarket.

SummerMummy88 · 26/07/2017 18:17

Until you can get to the doctors I would use ice cold natural yoghurt or even freeze the yoghurt in those empty plastic tampon cases and put it up. You could try cystitis powder from the supermarket but I think with it going o so long you need to see a doctor.

Iamembarrassed · 26/07/2017 18:33

I didn't go to the doctors because I couldn't get an appointment and because while some people go to the doctors for every little thing, i am not one of those people so I tried to treat it myself :) the cheescake is the thing that I think cured me lol
