Everything's reasonable in ToryTown!

The only difference between the DUP and SF is that the DUP members only killed Irish people, so that doesn't count as terrorism, it's just... um... dandy?

It would appear that getting in to bed with the right colour of terrorist is fine, so TM has gone orange, to go with her pal across the pond. And if talking to the SF makes you a terrorist sympathiser, then Thatcher was one as well. Give your heads a wobble.

EpoxyResin · 09/06/2017 13:31

*with, not without!

Mumfun · 09/06/2017 13:31

Tories are so two faced. Will do anything to cling to power.

And also defend and support the arms companies who sell arms all across the world including to loads of terrorist regimes. Have you forgotten the protestors who were taken to court in December last year for disrupting the arms fair and the judge let them off as he/she did believe their case that illegal activity was happening there? But the Tories did nothing about it - it was their friends and donors who were in there!

alltouchedout · 09/06/2017 13:32

Funny how some terrorists are OK and others are the devil, eh?

Ontopofthesunset · 09/06/2017 13:32

Her speech was unconscionable. Such breathtaking arrogance. So apparently impervious. She should have given a speech like Nick Clegg's gracious concession speech. In fact, that's the speech she should have made when she became PM. Still rattling on about the will of the people, not the divisions this election and the referendum revealed.

EpoxyResin · 09/06/2017 13:33

I can see TM's between a rock and a hard place. But she put herself there.

Poor tactical game from the PM.

CleopatraTheCatLover · 09/06/2017 13:34

Yanbu

DonaldStott · 09/06/2017 13:35

Tories have got fluff between their ears when is comes to the utter ignorance of TM doing billion dollar arms deals with Saudi and the consequences of this.

It is basically enabling terrorism ffs.

What can they not get about that?

Are they fucking thick or something?

EpoxyResin · 09/06/2017 13:35

I really need to watch this speech don't I.

florafoxtrot · 09/06/2017 13:35

"some strange views" - like anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage and no rights for the LGBT community? Yeah "strange" is the right word there Hmm

AristotlesTrousers · 09/06/2017 13:35

YANBU OP. It's awful, really awful.

Here's hoping it'll be a v. short-lived coalition.

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 09/06/2017 13:36

Well quite.

And I notice the v vocal Tories and smearers of JC have gone strangely quiet on this subject.

How interesting they suddenly seem so silent on this subject. Grin

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 09/06/2017 13:37

You'd hope some Tory Mps might oppose this. But probably not.

Xenophile · 09/06/2017 13:41

Innit?

ChillieJeanie · 09/06/2017 13:47

The reality it's this or another election in a matter of weeks. The numbers do not stack up for a Labour/everyone else coalition (excluding DUP) even if it was possible because excluding Sinn Fein that would be only 313 seats to the Conservatives's 318. But Sinn Fein will not take their seats, LibDems and SNP said no coalitions (although I would imagine if the numbers did stack up that would change) and the DUP have said they would never support Corbyn because of his links with the IRA. UUP would have been preferable to DUP but the UUP have no MPs any more. So, rock and a hard place - either minority Conservative government with the support of the DUP or another election called in 2 weeks according to the terms of the fixed term parliament act.

Xenophile · 09/06/2017 13:49

Ok, so I'll change my statement to:

Some terrorists are ok, when it's expedient for them to be so.

9GreenBottles · 09/06/2017 13:53

You can if you're a hypocrite! YADNBU op

MycatsaPirate · 09/06/2017 13:54

I have a lot of friends who are ex-military and who very loudly voiced their opinion that they would not vote for Labour as he was an IRA sympathiser - despite being told otherwise.

They are all very quiet this morning. How they can think it's ok for the Tories to jump in with the DUP I don't know. It's just awful.

No abortion rights
No same sex marriages
Bigots, racists and terrorists.

Bloody hell.

I stayed up til 4.30 this morning with two friends, we sat posting on fb until the very early hours as the results came in. Bizarrely it was one of the best nights ever. We celebrated, ranted, raved, were horrified and pleased in equal measure. But we stayed up and watched it unfolding despite all having to get up with the kids at 7 this morning.

My eyes are hanging out of my head today.

Ciaovenora · 09/06/2017 13:58

Corbyn - talking with the IRA while they were actively killing UK citizens is not reasonable.

Is this a serious comment! Would you have preferred they never engaged, hence no peace process?

The facts are, both parties in or out of Govt had back channel talks with the IRA during that period anyone who thinks other wise is deluded.

It tis ironic the Tories are now looking to go into Govt with a party that is medieval in its beliefs. Hey, the other guy talked to the IRA, you could not make this shit up.

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 09/06/2017 13:59

Oooh the silence is deafening!

On the thread about JC resigning I have asked this question about eleventy billion times.

I have had one answer that actually wasn't really an answer.

How strange! Grin

Xenophile · 09/06/2017 14:03

The UDA are under the impression that the DUP sympathise with them.

Dawndonnaagain · 09/06/2017 14:06

DUP Manifesto: The bible with fortnightly bin collections.

As for the amount of times JC was accused of fraternising with terrorists and then a coalition is concocted with a party set up by Ian Paisley, you couldn't fucking make it up!

Dawndonnaagain · 09/06/2017 14:09

Corbyn - talking with the IRA while they were actively killing UK citizens is not reasonable.
So why was it reasonable when Thatcher did it?
Why was it reasonable when Hurd did it?

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 09/06/2017 14:10

Just nicked that pic for the other thread Xenophile

Hope you don't mind.

It really is a perfect illustration of how far TM is prepared to go.
