Reducing Spliff Smells

{reposting from Chat for traffic}

I like to smoke some weed when I'm doing really boring things. I have no worries about this but I think my neighbours can smell it which I think is unfair on them. I would rather smoke hash which is less whiffy but it seems unavailable now

Does anyone have any practical recommendations - beyond the obvious 'stop smoking' - so that I can smoke a spliff in my home without fearing the waft factor?

Thank you for all the suggestions - which I consider. It's my vice - I don't like pure cigarettes, nor just a canniboid hit - I like my mini spliffs as I work away... Obvious answer is to move to the Outers so I can smoke away, but I was just wondering if there was a MN miracle product out there - like Zoflora - that I hadn't come across yet.

Hope you haven't got kids living with you, OP. The smell will be on them and their belongings and questions will be asked at school. (If in U.K.)

esk1mo · 08/06/2017 23:29

you can buy vapourizers that lead to no smell. you can also buy thc/cbd oil that can be used in normal nicotine vapes.

TigerApplique · 08/06/2017 23:30

CurlyhairedAssassin

Ditto.

So many bloody high horses about here tonight. If you can't answer the question why are you posting?!

OP when I was younger I used to smoke in the bathroom with the extractor fan on. Not the nicest atmosphere - and don't know if it would work with what you're doing - but worth a punt?

Also I'm down south and hash is readily available! You just need to know the right people GrinBlush

ginandbearit · 08/06/2017 23:33

The couple in the flat below me smoke strong stuff every evening, and a bitter acrid almost burnt toast smell permeates everything , clothes and hair, and I can smell it on me away from home...grim

thisismypotheadnamechange · 08/06/2017 23:36

Oh come on you'd have to be smoking morning noon and night for the kids to reek of it like that. And yeah you can find hash if you look really hard but it isn't as readily available as even a few years ago. A friend showed me how it's made and I'm not bloody surprised tbh it's a lot of effort!

PlanIsNoPlan · 08/06/2017 23:41

Thankfully moved beyond the 'questions asked at school' phase. Yes I have a child/teen seeing as you asked ...although somewhat irrelevant to my 'at home' question. Presume away....you probably know a lot more cannabis smokers than you know - most aren't the parents of the 'smelly' kids.

How little has changed since Rowntree after all

Stop smoking it (not helpful I know).

It is the most vile smell on the planet, it is the probably the only smell (besides actual vomit) that can knock me instantly sick.

It's. just. grim.

Crispbutty · 08/06/2017 23:42

You can get gel crystals that are brilliant for taking the smell away

Wolfiefan · 08/06/2017 23:42

Nope. I have smelt it on exercise books handed in for me to mark. If you are used to the smell you won't notice it but it fucking stinks.
MN shouldn't be the place to come to ask how to hide illegal activity. If you're in the UK this stuff isn't legal.
I will get on my "high horse" about something that is known to have strong links to MH problems. There's a reason it's not legal.

ChildishGambino · 08/06/2017 23:43

I wouldn't put Zoflora in it! I'd make little cakes.

Crispbutty · 08/06/2017 23:44

onaonline.com/product/ona-gel/

This stuff

tiba · 08/06/2017 23:44

The smell travels. The whole neighbourhood will be able to smell it

PlanIsNoPlan · 08/06/2017 23:54

Many thanks all - ONA definitely and will continue to try the vape route. Thankfully, judgy teachers smelling exercise books isn't a criteria we are concerned with now.

The best and concerted response to my whiffy problem is hash. Possibly British Hash is a product to consider.

I'd bloody buy it.

there are also the options of edibles Smile no smoke involved

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 09/06/2017 03:01

Thankfully, smoking cannibis will never be legal in the U.K.

It's vile.

Birdsbeesandtrees · 09/06/2017 03:26

I think it will be legal one day.

Funny alcohol causes all kinds of health problems but i don't see people jumping up and down about that.

Birdsbeesandtrees · 09/06/2017 03:27

And alcohol can actually kill you.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 09/06/2017 03:33

I don't agree with alcohol either; I think it should be illegal along with the other drugs.

thistlewine · 09/06/2017 03:45

No idea if it actually has any effect but we used to put a damp towel by the bottom of the door.
I've not seen hash for about 10 years maybe more, which is a shame as it always gave me a much nicer mellower buzz and stinks less.

thistlewine · 09/06/2017 03:51

Yes banning alcohol worked really well in America.

Prohibition doesn't work. It's d most cases and makes criminals rich.
I would love to see cannabis legalised so we could get rid of the awful really smelly too strong skunk and I could buy hash without giving my money to drug dealers.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 09/06/2017 03:52

I never said prohibition worked well. I just said I think it should be illegal.

londonrach · 09/06/2017 06:17

It is illegal isnt it mn. Seems to be on the increase with people smoking it in the street Awful awful smell, sticks around. Very sicky. Cant understand why anyone smokes it or for that matter cigarettes. Op sadly its too strong nothing will mask it.
