I bought new knickers yesterday...

Really comfy ones. You know the kind, big, soft and stretchy, unflattering as hell. DP thinks they're hilarious. I quote 'you're wearing acres of knicker'.
AIBU to think men don't realise how lucky they are that ALL men's pants are comfy, save the odd novelty thong?! Don't get me wrong, I like a French knicker and I'm partial to the odd tiny pair of lace pants, but nothing beats the comfort of really big, stretchy pants.

Disclaimer: This is lighthearted. Really.

I think it must come down to the hungriness of your arse.

I have a very hungry arse that eats up an unlimited amount of fabric, so cute boy shorts or any sort of big pant ends up entirely bunched up my crack and bug the absolute fuck out of me.

Thongs are an complete godsend to me and I wear nothing else, I cannot feel anything there, it is like they are invisible. I am guessing that this is a similar story for other thong lovers, and maybe those of you in bigger pants have something completely different going on (though I can't imagine how).

OhSoggyBiscuit · 07/06/2017 16:03

I have some mini cut knickers from Primark and am very satisified with them. But the best are the shorts style ones from tesco. I hate it when I wear jeans and my knickers go up my bum crack.

hazeydays14 · 07/06/2017 16:15

I am thinking I am with you 100%

I live in soft thongs, not the elastic-y g string types. My bum is also hungry, I think because it's huge in proportion to the rest of me so full coverage knickers just gather in there and feel awful on me.

I don't think thongs look awful on me, obviously that's just my opinion. I haven't really asked DP what he thinks because I'm only really bothered about my comfort and opinion on my underwear Grin

I don't have periods so I might be more inclined to wear bigger ones if I did.

No judgement to people who like big knicks though! Each to their own I say.

Oysterbabe · 07/06/2017 16:20

I think it's about the sensitivity of the crack. I'm very aware of the material being in there and I hate it. I can't wear flip flops either.

Rockhopper81 · 07/06/2017 16:58

Oysterbabe - I can't wear flip flops either. It's another sensitivity. So thongs are a definite no-no.

The seamless shorts from Tesco are the ones I meant - that's what I wear most of the time! I have a fat arse large bum and they just cover everything and stay mostly in place. Occasionally my arse tries to take a nibble on them, but that nonsense is quickly stopped.

jayho · 07/06/2017 17:12

People: 'what has a thong ever done for us?'

(A la Monty Python Romans thing)

MiaowMix · 07/06/2017 17:12

It is a truth universally acknowledged that all men love thongs.
Hmm. Actually it really, really isn't. Anyway they get all stringy up my bum, I hate the feel. And thanks to this thread I've just bought a load of lovely M&S lace boyshorts. Thanks!

Piles, just sayin'

BobbinThreadbare123 · 07/06/2017 17:23

I like big pants and I cannot lie.

Thongs = thrush + UTI, surely?! No matter how clean you are! Also bloody uncomfortable bum floss.

PollytheDolly · 07/06/2017 17:27

I wear thongs, big ones, all sorts, depending on TOTM or my mood. I even wear my husbands stretchy boxers sometimes (at home) Grin

duchess22 · 07/06/2017 17:37

It completely depends on the outfit for which camp I'm in but on the whole absolutely nothing can beat the joy my minge feels when I steal a pair of DP's boxers for a lazy day!!! Grin

Thingsgettingstranger · 07/06/2017 17:54

I just wear whatever is comfortable! Whether it be thong, big knickers etc

My dd is 16 and wears mens boxers (the stretchier cotton ones, not the woven ones), has done since she was about 9. She says they're comfy and just prefers them.

DS wears only branded boxers of any type (cotton or woven), totally not arsed about comfort - it's the label he needs! Grin

Touchmybum · 07/06/2017 19:19

Ah there's nothing to beat good old Marksies 5 pair pack of cotton mini bikinis. I've been wearing them a good 30 years.... not the same ones, I hasten to add. Re the diagram above, they fit over the arse and under the overhang. I can't abide something that goes up to my waist or gets stuck in my arse. Lace makes me itch.

My DH has been known to ruminate how I can possibly get such small knickers on such a big arse and them be baggy...

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 07/06/2017 19:24

See, I don't find that, with either big knickers or thongs. I do have a small bum though. I only wear bigger knickers when I'm on my period; thongs at most other times and I have no problems with either.

Thongs = thrush + UTI, surely?! No matter how clean you are!

Nope, not for me at least. Never had thrush or a UTI.

FlippinNorah · 07/06/2017 20:29

I'd just like to put in a request to thong wearers. If you wear leggings or linen trousers, for the love of God please bend over and ask someone you trust to have a look at your arse. I don't want to see it - or your thong - through the fabric, whatever size or however 'pert' it is.
I've lost count of the number of times I've wanted to poke some poor woman's accompanying partner/mother/mate and ask them why the fuck they haven't told her that her arse is on show.

BertieBotts · 07/06/2017 20:42

Shorts. What is it with them? I always find when I buy shorts they completely lack any kind of gusset and so they definitely ride up into the cracks. Horribly uncomfortable.

thegreylady · 07/06/2017 20:47

Big knickers, pure cotton, and any colour but white (which become several of the 50 shades of grey after a few washes).
I am 73 now and think thongs look like torture devices. Why wear them at all? Why not go commando? Thongs cover nothing much and I don't believe they are comfortable.

Proseccohoho · 07/06/2017 20:48

Loving this thread! Can you big-knicker wearers please help? I need a pair of comfy higher-waisted medium control knicks, preferably with no vpl, what are the best please?

maddiemookins16mum · 07/06/2017 20:54

M and S are your friend (the back wall usually where the supported vests are). Not cheap though.

Arealhumanbeing · 07/06/2017 20:56

Haven't worn knickers for years. They show through everything apart from jeans and thongs go up your actual arse all day or night 🤢 which I just find mucky.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 07/06/2017 21:04

Sainsbury's do nice big knickers. Cheaper than M&S and really quite decent. I liked BHS's full briefs too and wiped the supply of my size out when it shut down in our town!

Highmaintenancefemalestuff · 07/06/2017 21:27

I started wearing dh boxers when pregnant. They were so bloody comfy I quite often throw a pair on 10 months later. Big knickers all the way for me!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 07/06/2017 21:46

I wear M & S black shorts, £7 for 5. I stopped wearing thongs when I went through a spate of getting thrush and my GP told me to try wearing normal knickers. They also have to be 100% cotton as I have dermatitis in that region!

TathitiPete · 07/06/2017 21:49

Snap, I got myself some new knickers yesterday too. Great big 'granny knickers' Grin they come halfway up to my boobs. Comfort is king!
