I bought new knickers yesterday...

Really comfy ones. You know the kind, big, soft and stretchy, unflattering as hell. DP thinks they're hilarious. I quote 'you're wearing acres of knicker'.
AIBU to think men don't realise how lucky they are that ALL men's pants are comfy, save the odd novelty thong?! Don't get me wrong, I like a French knicker and I'm partial to the odd tiny pair of lace pants, but nothing beats the comfort of really big, stretchy pants.

Disclaimer: This is lighthearted. Really.

I used to always wear thongs. Then I switched when they became less popular as you couldnt get a matching thong when you bought a fancy bra (I like to match). Then I fell pregnant and switched to giant supermarket black ones and vest top bralette things. Soo comfy, I am never going back.

DH complains but am past caring.

I also switched to all black socks as they are easier to pair up ie: they all match.

PaperdollCartoon · 05/06/2017 23:10

RedLemonade why are you wearing underwear in bed?

MikeUniformMike · 05/06/2017 23:10

I hate thongs. I'd rather have vpl than those tiny little things with great big arse cheeks hanging out. Give me pair of M&S minis. Wearing a thong is like having your knickers wedged in your bum cleavage all the time. DP laughs at my knickers but his mum buys his.

NotAMammy · 05/06/2017 23:13

M&S granny knickers all the way. I splashed out a while ago and bought several multipacks of black cotton ones and threw out all my other old scraggy ones. Best decision ever.
I do have a nude thong and one pair of white knickers for when my wardrobe dictates, but I generally only wear black or dark trousers/skirts.

BandeauSally · 05/06/2017 23:14

Yes I used to panic at the thought of someone seeing my knicker line. Now I don't care. People can see I am wearing pants. And? Then what? What are they going to do with this information? Grin

BandeauSally · 05/06/2017 23:16

why are you wearing underwear in bed

Shock why would you not? I've always worn underwear to bed. I feel very strange without it. Even after sex, I like to put some pants on before going to sleep. Well, back when I had sex Grin

KentMum2008 · 05/06/2017 23:17

The comfort level of these pants are off the scale.

I have these

BlossomCat · 05/06/2017 23:20

Ooh I love a big knicker! I was very disappointed the other week when I bought some girl boxers from Primark.

They are made with a seam up the front, so instant camel toe when you wear them.

They've gone into the bin.

KentMum2008 · 05/06/2017 23:20

Iamastonished Shock I love the look of those. Genuinely buying a pack right now...

I have loads of big knickers!

Thongs = arse floss.

I don't even get on with those shorts because they just move around and rub in unfortunate places.

BandeauSally · 05/06/2017 23:22

Ooh astonished, they look dead comfy!

Miniwookie · 05/06/2017 23:22

Ooh no. Pants in bed? Wrong. Grin

HappyAxolotl · 05/06/2017 23:25

I do find thongs comfy and tend to wear them all the time under trousers, but in the summer I like a pair of boy shorts under shorts or a short skirt. Keeps me decent especially on a breezy day!

All other styles of pants tend to move about and end up bunched in my bum. Goodness knows what I'm doing wrong there. Blush

cheapskatemum · 05/06/2017 23:25

I love a good knicker thread. I think it does all depend on the shape and size of your bottom and hips, as well as sensory issues. I don't find thongs particularly comfortable, but worse than the bit between the butt cheeks is, for me, the elastic holding it up, as it digs into my somewhat fleshy hips. I prefer a tanga or mini style, but have had success with brazilian briefs too. All are comfortable on me, so I haven't had to resort to the big knickers yet, much to DH's relief.

Iamastonished · 05/06/2017 23:25

I bought mine from an M and S shop at a retail outlet so they were only £8 instead of £12. I wish I had bought more than one pack now.

honeyroar · 05/06/2017 23:26

Mango may I bought those by accident last year, they're so comfy, especially for horse riding in, but I'm finding them too hot in summer! Belly warmers they are indeed, and I don't seem to need my belly warming in June! My husband jokes "have you got my mother's knickers on again?"

bbbbbinng · 05/06/2017 23:27

I'm still wearing my huge pregnancy kickers.. My daughters nearly 3 Blush

SirVixofVixHall · 05/06/2017 23:27

I'm with redlemonade, I can't sleep in a nightie without big comfy pants. I also have large drawers full of big drawers, like pp. I did a rough count. I have over 100 pairs of big pants, and 1 thong thing. I bought the thong thing because it matched a really pretty bra and there was no BP option. I think it has been worn once.
I bought some really comfortable pants from M&S the other day, they are perfectly comfotable in every way, but they have one of those stupid printed on labels. So instead of a softish satin label that I can cut out, there is a printed on label that is really scratchy, and ruins the soft comfort of the pants. Grrr.

DontLetMeBeMisunderstood · 05/06/2017 23:35

I have always felt that if you're large of buttock (such that there is substantial contact between the left and right cheek), then thongs are just a no go because there's too much contact to comfortably accommodate a narrow strip of cotton/nylon/silk (or, in one very alarming thong I saw, a string of fake pearls - not a euphemism). If you're bottom is tiny and pert this is less of an issue, there's room between buttocks for a thong to rest . You'll probably guess that I fall into the former camp and have long since given up on thongs - I'm happy enough with low cut shorties, no risk of a wedgie with those guys.

flamingnoravera · 05/06/2017 23:39

Thongs for me. I have one pair of proper knickers for when I go to dr or physio. I hate knickers and especially hate seeing gusset lines through women's trousers- gross.

The secret is to buy thongs two sizes bigger than you are. I am a size 8 and I wear size 12 thongs. No annoying chafing or any of the other things people describe. I think they are just wearing them too tight.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 05/06/2017 23:41

I only ever wear proper knickers (not big ones but just your standard knicker) when I'm on my period.

All other times I wear thongs; have a whole collection of them. I find them really comfy, and I love feeling sexy in them too. I feel all frumpy when I wear my "period knickers"!

WellyMummy · 05/06/2017 23:46

Harvest festivals! (All is safely gathered in!)

ComputerUserNotTrained · 05/06/2017 23:47

Big pants cover my wobbly arse. Thongs floss my rectum.

I much prefer big knicks.

NeedsAsockamnesty · 05/06/2017 23:48

If I wore a thong two sizes too big I would have gusset gap!
