To be absolutely disgusted with the conspiracies

That Theresa May and the Tory's have somehow orchestrated the Manchester bombings for political gains. I keep seeing statuses and posts on social media pertaining to this and it's making me sick.

At a time of immense tragedy such as this I couldn't give two shits about political point scoring. Children have died. People have lost parents, siblings, aunts and uncles. Children hospitalised will never be the same again.

AIBU to want certain people to keep their nasty and divisive politics out of this tragedy?

Noone is reporting these but the paranoid right wingers that made them up / trying to pretend this is some assault on tories by the left at a time of non canvassing.
Maybe not spreading these ideas yourself would be a better plan. hth.

Runny · 24/05/2017 09:48

YANBU. Ive just started a thread on something similar.

I loathe and despise the Tories, but anyone who actually believes this was inside job needs to give their heads a wobble.

Sionella · 24/05/2017 10:24

let it die by ignoring it. anything else is fuel to their sick flames.

BoldKitties · 24/05/2017 10:28

Exactly what Sexstarvedredhead said. Exactly.

araiwa · 24/05/2017 10:28

so you start a thread giving airtime to these conspiracies that sicken you?

yabu- also get some better friends that dont post such stuff

BillSykesDog · 24/05/2017 10:28

If the right wing had 'made it up' then they wouldn't be 'paranoid' would they? Because they'd know it wasn't true. At least try and think through your bullshit to make it vaguely convincing before you spout it.

ClarkWGriswold · 24/05/2017 10:30

As always Bill thank you for being the voice of reason.

God op who do you mix with? No idea what you are talking about

BillSykesDog · 24/05/2017 10:33

Just had a quick search on FB and it's overwhelmingly coming from left wing groups and activists.

shinyredbus · 24/05/2017 10:34

why would a right winger 'make it up?!' bizarre thing to say OP.

BillSykesDog · 24/05/2017 10:35

I saw a few nutters posting this stuff yesterday. All left wing. But they were very much in the minority. Most of the left wing posters were disagreeing vociferously and saying that the attacks were due to May being ineffective. Not orchestrated.

Maudlinmaud · 24/05/2017 10:35

Ignore. Social media is awash with the ridiculous at the best of times, so in the worst of times it amps up.

Lottie991 · 24/05/2017 10:35

Agree with op,
Also agree with billsykesdog I have only seen it from left wing supporters, In fact a relative shared something about it and I told her that she shouldn't be sharing things like that at a time like this.

toffee1000 · 24/05/2017 10:36

I saw something that someone liked on FB that was in a similar vein. It's absolutely, utterly ridiculous.

ClarkWGriswold · 24/05/2017 10:37

I didn't say that. It was the person below me in response to my OP.

BillSykesDog · 24/05/2017 10:38

It really is starting to look like this is ineffectiveness on May's part. People don't seem to be picking up on this though. Saying that it's staged actually distracts from what could be a better point for the left.

Justanotherlurker · 24/05/2017 10:41

Noone is reporting these but the paranoid right wingers that made them up / trying to pretend this is some assault on tories by the left at a time of non canvassing.

From my FB feed and many political forums its the left that are trying to insinuate the conspiracy/false flag

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 24/05/2017 10:42

Oh dear o think it's far too early to start blaming anyone here except the bastard who did it.

user1487175389 · 24/05/2017 10:48

I don't feel it's offensive to the victims and their families. Either way they've been cruelly murdered by people who don't put any value on the lives of ordinary citizens. As with Hillsborough, what matters is the truth.

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 24/05/2017 10:50

Indeed but it's probably too early to know the truth yet and speculating is dangerous

blackcatlover · 24/05/2017 10:51

Are you one of them OP? Seriously, publicising them on mainstream social media is providing more publicity for free. Just report them as you come across them or ignore ignore ignore.

ClarkWGriswold · 24/05/2017 10:55

What? Of course I'm not. I didn't realise that my post was considered publicising this idiotic view. Click on any article on FB related to Jeremy Corbyn or the Labour party and you will see exactly what I am talking about.

OP posts:
CoolCarrie · 24/05/2017 10:58

Ignore, ignore, ignore ! As milk snatcher Thatcher said " Don't give them the oxygen of publicity "

Clandestino · 24/05/2017 11:01

I hate the Tories and can't stand Theresa May and Rudd with her immigrants wearing yellow stars suggestion but I agree that this particular conspiracy theory is disgusting and extremely insulting to victims and families of the attack.

Agree not appropriate thread at this time or probably any time - can you withdraw it please?
