To be absolutely disgusted with the conspiracies

That Theresa May and the Tory's have somehow orchestrated the Manchester bombings for political gains. I keep seeing statuses and posts on social media pertaining to this and it's making me sick.

At a time of immense tragedy such as this I couldn't give two shits about political point scoring. Children have died. People have lost parents, siblings, aunts and uncles. Children hospitalised will never be the same again.

AIBU to want certain people to keep their nasty and divisive politics out of this tragedy?

MissWilmottsGhost · 24/05/2017 14:31

Hmm the posts I read on the MN 'imminent attack' thread suggested TM would use the attacks politically, not that she orchestrated them.

I don't think that the idea that a government would use a big shocking event to help push through their policies is that controversial.

WordsAreWind · 24/05/2017 14:33

This is not a left and right issue. There are conspiracy theorists of all political leanings and all ranges of mental capacity that come out with this sort of stuff.

This is also not a new penomomenon. If you have a look around the internet there's countless theories about Dunblane and Sandy Hook that would make your blood boil amoungst other terrorist atrocities that all seem to be false flags carried out by the global satanist elite, the illuminati or whoever the flavour of the month is at the time.

A lot of the larger groups that push these types of theories are quite cold and calculating and manipulate some very vulnerable and gullible followers into pushing their agenda. It's all very cultish.

Yanbu OP.

Phenomenon* ..... Typing fail Grin

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 24/05/2017 14:39

Have not read any reports that the bombing are a conspiracy I am sure there are plenty

I have read more than a few stupid comments about how May is ramping up the fear for political gain from the far left Hmm

Charmageddon · 24/05/2017 14:44

I would sooner poke sharpened pencils in my ears than go on the Jeremy Corbyn FB page, can you give us quick example please.

Here's some screenshots:

I'm not remotely surprised tbh.

From an alternative perspective, I'm also wondering if JC will be inviting IS/AQ to the HoC in the coming weeks.
Or perhaps he will attend a memorial ceremony for the 'fallen soldier'.

This is how he reacted to previous mass murders by terrorists, after all.

ClarkWGriswold · 24/05/2017 15:01

Blackcat ah you've just shown up your intelligence level by your swearing at me.

Jupitar · 24/05/2017 15:36

when you see those 'news' on FB, do you step up to say it's a lot of crap? admittedly I don't because I would not and have not ever commented on politics on FB. Some of the responses to people who have called it out have been utterly vile.
You need some new friends if you're worried about them being vile when you respond to their fb status

I have seen a few comments about TM but personally I'm more worried about some of my conservative friends who have been posting anti Muslim crap, I've pulled them up on it as have a lot of others and if I got a vile response I wouldn't be friends with them anymore, on fb or in rl

Bluntness100 · 24/05/2017 15:44

Agree op totally. There has been some of it on here and I've been shocked by it. Suggestions that may will use these peoples deaths to gain political capital, suggestions we don't need tempora, that in some way it was her personal decision to raise the security level to benefit her, suggestions that this mass murder was orchestrated due to the election.

It's sick.her actions and the governments response would have been the same irrelevant of election, as would it have been if labour had been in power.

All these people do is a disservice to the Labour Party. I'm no labour voter, but my daughter is, she's also a member of the party and she does not want to be associated with this level of extremist behaviour. It really is very low indeed.

formerlyknownasuser1469397655 · 24/05/2017 16:05

the posts I read on the MN 'imminent attack' thread suggested TM would use the attacks politically, not that she orchestrated them.

It was suggested several times that she had decided to raise the threat level to gain political advantage, even though she had little input into this decision (that is JTAC's job).

There were also 2 separate posters that said it was a "false flag" operation, but both posts have now been removed by Mumsnet (both were on P14).

Jupitar · 24/05/2017 16:13

Even Owen Jones is talking about soilders toting guns on the streets of Britain

did you read his whole post? It was only a couple of sentences so you should have managed okay.

I really don't feel soldiers toting guns on the streets of Britain during an election campaign is reassuring. How do others feel? (Oh, I'll have a zero tolerance approach to comments which are conspiracy theories about the terrorist atrocity).

So he was asking peoples opinions but stated that who would not tolerate any conspiracy theories.

Whistleblower0 · 24/05/2017 16:19

You' re pretty easily ^shocked* Bluntness Amber .rudd was asked today if Tories would make political capital out of what in happened Manchester.
It's a perfectly valid question. I have Seen several tories on political forums say this us exactly what she should do.
You do strike me as awfully naive.

Whistleblower0 · 24/05/2017 16:22

Just watch for strong and stable leadership slipping in to her utterances over the next few days.
It was ridiculed as a slogan last week after her massive unturn. Bet you anything it will be making a come back in the next few days.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 24/05/2017 16:25

Grow up.

I never said it was a conspiracy I said it was opportunistic. It was. The language was unnecessary.

Maybe it's you that is having trouble reading.

Can you cite one incident or quote that has seen anyone in government attempting to gain political capital?

Can you cite anybody who has already accused the government of making political capital out of the terrorist attack?

I think you will find there is a massive imbalance between the above 2 answers.

Whistleblower0 · 24/05/2017 16:32

FormerI take it you know how to use a search engine.

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 24/05/2017 16:35

Disgusting to be honest. Neither may or Corbyn is making political capital out of the murder of children.

alltouchedout · 24/05/2017 16:40

Wrt the bombing being orchestrated by the government/ some all powerful shadowy behind the scenes group have only seen posts like this one, complaining about such conspiracy theories. I haven't seen any posts setting out said theories. I'm sure they exist, because people are dicks, but you're giving them publicity that they would not otherwise have.

I've seen a few discussions about whether any party/ group will or should make political capital out of these awful events. That's different, imo. Will they? Yes, certainly. Should they? I'm on the fence about that, tbh.

mothertruck3r · 24/05/2017 16:46

It's normally left wingers who post conspiracy theories and it makes a change from them blaming Jews Zionists.

user1487175389 · 24/05/2017 16:59

It's scary that there's so much thought policing going on on this thread. This is apparently still a democracy. Why on earth shouldn't we be rightly wary of the fucking bastard tories making political capital out of an atrocity? It's not like they've ever missed an opportunity before. Who decided that were weren't allowed to hold them to account, and why?

Bluebeedee · 24/05/2017 17:00

I didn't know about these theories til I read this thread

alltouchedout · 24/05/2017 17:04

the fucking bastard tories making political capital out of an atrocity
Oh come on, all parties have done it before and will do it again.

olliegarchy99 · 24/05/2017 17:14

Is this thread still going? - it should be taken down as inappropriate and full of lies. Angry what kind of people believe this hate-filled rubbish?
