With the articles about manipulating Trump and those Broadsword tweets earlier, it's not beyond the wit of man that he could be deliberately prodded by different parties working in a concerted way. Both a frightening and pleasing thought simultaneously.

Lweji · 15/05/2017 19:30

Kellyanne initially campaigned against Trump. Then she was enrolled in his campaign after her candidate got booted out.

I suspect she does it mostly for media presence. She probably thought of it as another job, then she enjoyed the limelight, now she's stuck because she's lost all credibility.

Spicer probably the same.

cozietoesie · 15/05/2017 19:32

They're both riding the tiger.

PerkingFaintly · 15/05/2017 19:35

I'd guess the deliberate prodding by co-ordinating parties has been going on a long time. It's just now the game has spread down the food chain, and we're hearing about it.

It's considered 'satire' and true satire is protected from libel laws.

Trump's treatment of women, his ego, his shady deals are things that are well known and there are examples of them in the public eye so those things are open to satire. But if they were to use satire to imply that he was a paedophile, abused animals, beat his wives (things he doesn't really have a reputation for) that would more than likely cross the 'satire' line into libel.

Oops! Didn't refresh. I was referring to prior posts about SNL.

Sean Spicer tries to frame Trump's firing of Comey as selfless: "He knew it could be detrimental for himself" but was best "for the country"

Interesting—Spicer still won't confirm or deny that Trump is recording conversations: "The President has nothing further..." (via @MSNBC)

Cathleen Decker @cathleendecker

So the only options are: 1. Spicer didn't ask Trump if he's taping others. 2. He did ask but Trump won't say. 3. There are tapes.

Perhaps these aides are smarter than @realDonaldTrump gives them credit for.

Moon will likely be watching all this anxiously. He needs a nice, happy, winning, 45.

The Fake News Show is on Channel 4 right now, followed by a programme profiling Ivanka.

cozietoesie · 15/05/2017 20:35

Sometime after 01.00 UK time on Wednesday?

cozietoesie · 15/05/2017 20:36

Sorry. That referred to the timing of SY's interview.

lionheart · 15/05/2017 20:37

Ooh. I'll look out for that. And in the next edition of the New Yorker she is interviewed.

Although, she did say, in her testimony, that she was still bound by confidentiality and all that, even though she was no longer in her job. Smile

cozietoesie · 15/05/2017 20:39

The New Yorker does some very in-depth pieces at times.

cozietoesie · 15/05/2017 20:42

I suspect that they may all have taken further legal advice, lion. Eg as to the extent to which 45's public statements have 'removed' privilege and confidentiality etc.

cozietoesie · 15/05/2017 20:43

And in any case, there comes a point................

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 15/05/2017 20:47

That would be good to catch. I've got lots of time for ms Yates.
