I don't loathe Trump supporters. I bemoan the fact that a fair few of them will be screwed over by his administration, and they've not realised it yet. I am appalled at some of their viewpoints (racism and so on). But these people have always existed. I loathe what they believe in. A fine line of distinction, I suppose.

It's important to remember that Nixon had some supporters that never lost faith in him at all. I imagine Trump will be the same.

lionheart · 14/05/2017 17:24

Thanks Across.

I see now some Democrats are demanding that the Special Prosecutor is appointed before the new FBI boss.

Lweji · 14/05/2017 17:39

He's an old man, Lweji

Yes, but such people like to prepare the ground for their offspring.

Roussette · 14/05/2017 17:44

He's an old man, And his excesses are already showing Agree cozie.

I read somewhere that his diet is appalling. He loves maccyD's, icecream (!), meat loaf, endless coke and fast food. He may not drink alcohol but his physique and BMI/cholosterol is probaby through the roof.

Yes Prawn, I watch the pressers with Spicey on youtube sometimes. Can't get over the rolling comments and the nastiness of it all. Quite shocking.

I don't know too much about clapper but this seems like a pretty
bold thing for him to say.

BiglyBadgers · 14/05/2017 18:09

Though last time the Dems refused to vote on something the Republicans just changed the rules and voted without them. I believe that was during one of the earlier confirmations Hmm

cozietoesie · 14/05/2017 18:10

I 'think', Ginger, that 45 plans to appoint an 'interim' FBI Director. That may not need Congressional approval. (In fact, likely doesn't.)

lionheart · 14/05/2017 18:20

Is that the loophole they have found? Wonder what counts as 'interim'?

It must be getting rather warm in the Whitehouse:

BiglyBadgers · 14/05/2017 18:25

I find it interesting that so far the labour manifesto seems to have been a surprising success, especially considering that the anti-corbyn narrative means it has everything stacked against it. Polling seems to suggest the policies are popular and it has boosted labour in the polls. However, support for Corbyn himself remains low and there is still this narrative of him being an unmitigated disaster, despite labour polling pretty equivalent to what it was at in 2015 (as far talked about earlier in the thread).

cozietoesie · 14/05/2017 18:26

I have no idea, I fear, lion.

BiglyBadgers · 14/05/2017 18:27

Sorry, I posted that on the wrong thread. Was supposed to be for the Westminstenders, but got sidetracked here. Blush

cozietoesie · 14/05/2017 18:28

PS- but I'm sure that Fox & Friends will know, as soon as it's shared with them by the WH.

Oh yes.

MrsT2007 · 14/05/2017 18:39

Loving this theory though, even if it's bunkum:

Obama knew all this shit before January.

Last week of his presidency he 'demoted' Dana Boente to EDVA, amongst some rumours.

Trump was none the wiser about Boente and focused all his efforts on Comey.

Now its Boente in charge of the rocket docket, potential indictments and talking to the whole senate with Rosenstein next week.

Maybe, just maybe, Obama preplanned it all and threw a double crossing classic trick: false scent by 'demoting' Boente to where he was most useful, to deliver the blows.

If it's true, then Barack Obama is a genius.

It's a great idea, even if it's not true. I love the notion of him manoeuvring the chess pieces with a wry smile and a beer in one hand.

lionheart · 14/05/2017 18:44

I love the idea of it too MrsT.

cozietoesie · 14/05/2017 18:44

Boente is also talking to the Senate next week? Smile

cozietoesie · 14/05/2017 18:46

It's like watching a cartoon with someone running going off a cliff, Ginger. (No matter how hard their legs work, they can't get to the 'other side'.)

Lweji · 14/05/2017 18:47

I wouldn't put it past Obama. I don't know if he's a good chess player, but he seems to consider all angles when thinking about a subject.

I'd love it if he had a plan and was maneuvering out of sight while surfing in Maui. We all know that Maui is not quite what it seems at first. Wink
