Replying to the query about Supreme Court judges. A friend has lots of family in the States and one of them posted on her Facebook about this. The question of whether the republicans or democrats got to appoint Scalia's replacement seemed to be a huge deal - lots of stuff along the lines of 'America as we know it is in peril'. I've heard that her relatives were previously horrified by the idea of Trump, but as soon as he won the nomination they put aside any misgivings and rallied behind him.
