My favorite so far on the firing: Bill Maher.

"All this, but Hillary sent some emails from the wrong laptop".

Dumdedumdedum · 13/05/2017 18:50

I saw references to Watergate, yes, cozietoesie. Is that what the non denial denial referred to? (Sorry, I was there at the time but was more wrapped up in being a first year uni student than US politics, so memory v faulty on this.) Is Trump not the first President to have "trolled" - or gaslit - his electorate, then?

Told by an IC source-now confirmed by legal source-that there is recorded evidence of criminal wrongdoing by each of Trump's adult children.

Lweji · 13/05/2017 18:53

BTW, any takes on who could be the Comey "source" or "associate"? Grin

GingerIvy · 13/05/2017 18:54

Hmm... check out the pic they tweeted.

Trump kept Spicer in the dark on Comey firing to avoid leaks: report hill.cm/Nbp1lkx

GingerIvy · 13/05/2017 18:57

Popular rumour appears to be that Trump may try to step down due to "health concerns" if things get too close to the bone and arrests look imminent.

cozietoesie · 13/05/2017 18:58

That Bill Maher piece is hilarious. (And would be even more so if it wasn't also so depressing.)

He actually looked very rough in that picture with the Russians.

Trump kept Spicer in the dark on Comey firing to avoid leaks: report

Ooooh. Maybe he wasn't actually hiding in the bushes to avoid speaking to journalists. Maybe he was changing to his secret superhero cape. :)

hackmum · 13/05/2017 19:09

MsHooliesCardigan: "He literally seems to have no redeeming features."

He is indeed totally without charm, intelligence, humility, affability, modesty, any noticeable talent in any field whatsoever. And you know what, I can understand that - I have met plenty of people like that.

What I still can't understand is why millions of people voted for him. And apparently, still think he's doing a great job. The best explanation I've got is mass hypnosis.

cozietoesie · 13/05/2017 19:10

Just to point out that SNL are probably as good at disinformation as anyone else. Smile

Lweji · 13/05/2017 19:17

These days even the Onion is probably less fake than what comes out of the WH.

cozietoesie · 13/05/2017 19:19

Only one take, Lweji. Wink

Lweji · 13/05/2017 19:23

I wonder where they got this from:

I've not seen this posted and it seems to have got lost amid yesterday's other stories. Worth a quick watch. Why did Putin think he could get away with influencing election in 2016:

cozietoesie · 13/05/2017 19:47

That was a former FBI agent?

cozietoesie · 13/05/2017 19:53

It's just that he was surprisingly open.

cozietoesie · 13/05/2017 19:56

Just to keep us updated - although I can't see a hearing date in the piece.

Comey to testify

SanFranBear · 13/05/2017 20:02

He is indeed totally without charm, intelligence, humility, affability, modesty, any noticeable talent in any field whatsoever.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that he is actually quite charming and charismatic in person - the writer of the piece said that he wanted to loathe him but found him surprisingly fun to have a lunch with.

I would imagine though this was an hour or two over excellent food and wine. The stress of the office (which turned Obama grey), the constant challenging of his statements and dismissal of his proposals and being held to a higher standard than he will ever have been is bound to change the man. I'm not saying he's a good man - he is the absolute opposite of that and I doubt he has ever been a good man in the traditional sense - but the power that can exude from someone with such ridiculous wealth and privilege can be intoxicating.

Just to reiterate - he repulses me. Bigly Envy
