I would never be so crass or rude to point out someone's spag mistakes usually.

However, people that do it themselves first are fair game and rightly asking for it Grin

averylongtimeago · 21/04/2017 20:47

My friends assure me Mme Le Penn has no chance....on the other hand, her posters are everywhere...the only other candidate to have any presence in Macron.....
So yes, I am worried too.

ilovesooty · 21/04/2017 21:11

So do you live in France OP?

Itisnoteasybeingdifferent · 21/04/2017 21:34

Why are we surprised at events?
Madrasas and Immams are financed by Saudi, the home of wahhbist islam. Wahhbism is the most regressive and intollerant interpretation of islam.

Iris65 · 21/04/2017 21:37

It isn't like the British general election. This is only the first round. There are more rounds to go.

pennypickle · 21/04/2017 21:37

Why are you worried about France OP? Do you live there? If so what exactly are you worried about?

Code42 · 21/04/2017 21:54

She basically has no chance, as a result of how the French system works - if, as I'm assuming, you're worrying about a Le Pen victory. Excellent long read in yesterday's Guardian if you're interested in educating yourself further about it, btw.

But there are much bigger and more realistic things to worry about at the moment.

honeyfull · 21/04/2017 21:57

Just like Trump she has no chance at all.

Anyway, she is not far right at all. Methinks peeps need to read up on her transformation away from her Father, who WAS far right indeed.

brexitstolemyfuture · 22/04/2017 07:06

Exactly honey, that's what my family keep saying but it could be another sleel walking straight into it. You just don't know these days!

OP posts:
Ktown · 22/04/2017 07:18

I think le pen has a good chance in the first round. But there is no way the French will let her actually win in the second round.
There are too many candidates which makes it really difficult to track for the polls.

Frazzled2207 · 22/04/2017 07:23

She might well win tomorrow but that doss NOT mean she will win the 2nd round. Vvv unlikely.

LordRothermereBlackshirtCunt · 22/04/2017 07:26

The margins for Brexit and Trump were very tight, so although people were shocked, they should've been based on the opinion polls. The second round opinion polls for either Macron, Fillon or Melenchon vs Le Pen are way beyond any margin of error.

megletthesecond · 22/04/2017 07:27

I don't live in France but it's worrying me. After Trump and Brexit my anxiety is sky high.

LordRothermereBlackshirtCunt · 22/04/2017 07:27

shouldn't, not should've.^

Firstaidnovice · 22/04/2017 07:33

I don't understand why some posters imply that you can only be concerned about the results of an election if it's the country you live in. Same happened with Trump.

Anyway, I've read reams of articles on how Marine can't win. But newspaper articles about how someone definitely won't win have lost their weight somewhat.

spinassienne · 22/04/2017 07:37

What they all said: she'll make it through the run off but not the second round. The Trump comparison isn't valid because he wouldn't have won under the French system and the sursaut républicain will still happen, though probably less than in Chirac's day. France still has a proud left-wing tradition that pulls the political centre of gravity further left than'it is in the UK. The really interesting question is who'll be up against her in the second round. My money is on Méluche Wink
