I've read that
Blue tin Nivea is a cheaper version of creme de la mer so I've bought 3 tins!

Please can Anyone recommend anything that is as good as the branded version but cheaper?

Ignore me lol

Lidl tomato ketchup is much better than Heinz IMO. It contains more tomato, doesn't have any additives and is usually about a 1/3 of the price.

CloneClubSestra · 03/03/2017 01:17

poohbearshole is right. A surprising number of copy or own-brand products in supermarkets are using the same recipe - although due to copyright regulations there is a slight tweak to avoid a lawsuit... Brand loyalty is a crock of crap. It's the consumers who pay over the odds for all that marketing. ALDI does a fine job of copying snack products - try them!

Apfelbunny · 03/03/2017 01:25

Aldi apple pies are much nicer than kiplong ones. Not as sweet.

31weeksgone · 03/03/2017 01:31

Haven't RTFT so sorry if repeating but primark "polka" £6 a bottle 100ml I think is EXACTLY the same as lady million, PR. I save so much money now.

justilou · 03/03/2017 01:41

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation is the same but better than Chanel Vitalumiere. Up until fairly recently, Bourjois was made by Chanel. It's been bought by Coty since and I'm not enamoured with any new products since.

Desperatedaisy · 03/03/2017 01:41

I must be tight, I didn't think anyone brought branded paracetamolGrin

highinthesky · 03/03/2017 01:48

Another fan of Lidl tomato ketchup.

Even better when it's on offer at 1/2 price.

SharonBottsPoundOfGrapes · 03/03/2017 01:52

Porefessional and Maybelline Baby Skin are nothing like each other. The benefit one is dry and silky with a beige hue where as Maybelline is more of a wet cream with pink/green undertones. I have them both.

HelsinkiLights · 03/03/2017 03:09

On second thoughts Sharon I don't fancy being wet, green & pink. I'll just use my Porefessional even more sparingly.

putdownyourphone · 03/03/2017 03:26

I'm sorry but Creme and Nivea are defo not the same - used to work at Creme and have seen how it's made.

kineticmagnetic · 03/03/2017 03:40

Sleek do a superb dupe of benefit browzings at under half the price.

Home bargains non branded fake head and shoulders.

Waitrose baby bottom butter as a primer.

jdoe8 · 03/03/2017 04:14

caged battery eggs taste identical to the local farms organic ones and are a lot cheaper.

Apfelbunny · 03/03/2017 04:46

Tried caged bird eggs as local shop ran out of happy eggs. Tasted awful. Tinged a bit with guilt for buying them but dh wanted a fried egg and I had a cake to make

Friolero · 03/03/2017 05:05

A bit of a dull one, but "compatible" ink cartridges from e.g. Office World on Amazon are just as good quality but a fraction of the price of genuine HP ones.

DorisDay88 · 03/03/2017 05:12

Lidl twix are much better than the real ones as are their mini cheddars
Neither are as good in Aldis though

CarrieMyBag · 03/03/2017 05:21

New York New York perfume from M&S smells almost identical to Jimmy Choo and it's wayyy cheaper. Or maybe it's just my nose lol!

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 03/03/2017 05:41

In blind taste tests there is apparently no difference between organic, free range and caged eggs.
I do however always buy free range regardless of price. It's one of the very few non negotiables in my shopping. That and Yorkshire tea.

BirdInTheRoom · 03/03/2017 05:49

Boots have recently bought out their own version of Gillette Fusion razor and blades and they seem identical but half the price of Gillette.

I like Maybelline Dream Satin foundation - I find it very similar to Chanel Vitalumiere.

BirdInTheRoom · 03/03/2017 05:50

I also find primark super skinny jeans good and only £12 per pair!

Monkeypuzzle32 · 03/03/2017 06:21

Superdrug natural radiance hot cloth cleanser instead of Liz Earle's , its less thick but at about 5.99 and usually on offer it's a no brainier to use that instead .

Monkeypuzzle32 · 03/03/2017 06:22

Liz Earl cleanse & polish that is!

Sparrowlegs248 · 03/03/2017 06:22

Caged battery hen eggs taste nothing like free range eggs bought from a farm. They are still eggs it's true, no taste though.

hannahbanana2007 · 03/03/2017 06:27

Regardless of taste difference surely when it comes to stuff like battery farming egg there has to be consideration of the ethical issues?! It's just not comparable to using one face cream vs another!

allchattedout · 03/03/2017 06:41

Are you actually kidding? It doesn't bother you the appalling conditions that the animals are kept in? Yes, they are still eggs so will taste the same, but most decent people will be prepared to pay an extra 30p or so not to support battery farming.

Also, Nivea cream is NOT the same as creme de la mer and is full of parabens which will congest your skin.
