Was a bureaucrat, Pax, now retired. And thankfully, my retirement 'Certificate of Appreciation' has the signature of Barack Obama! I don't think I could have handled having Trump as 'the big boss' and having to see a picture of his ugly mug every day in the office. I've already heard some of my still-working friends thoughts on that and the expected effect on their appetites.

Hmmm, how to get The Donald's tax returns. Perhaps I should don my black catsuit, stick a headset w/mic on and MNers can lower me into the Wash DC IRS building on strings a la Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible. But only if someone volunteers to hum the theme song as I'm lowered.

I'll offer you a refuge, AcrossthePond. He'll never find you.

BTW, I've just noticed his reaction to the marches

Donald J. TrumpVerified account
‏*@realDonaldTrump*

Watched protests yesterday but was under the impression that we just had an election! Why didn't these people vote? Celebs hurt cause badly.

Yes, Donnie. They did vote and most votes did go to Hillary.
Now, take note, or you'll face even worse protests. Possibly strikes.

SenecaFalls · 23/01/2017 15:18

Not just grizzlies, potential grizzlies.Bear

AcrossthePond55 · 23/01/2017 15:41

Ha! You guys are brilliant. That monumentally loud groaning and grinding sound you hear is me attempting to zip up the catsuit! Anyone remember laying on their bed and hooking a coat hanger in the tab to zip up their skin tight jeans in the '70s? Yeah, that's me and the catsuit!

InformalRoman · 23/01/2017 15:58

I can see you now AcrossthePond - tip toeing through the laser beams in your super slinky cat suit ...

Reporting in for duty. Have been working on upper body strength so should be good for lowering acrossthepond into the IRS building or for helping with that stubborn zip (I hear rubbing a soap bar on the zipper helps)

I'll do anythiiiiiiiiing. Even if it's illegal. Shock

SanFranBear · 23/01/2017 16:08

You sound so very cool, AcrossthePond - I genuinely believe that you could pull it off!

I had to Confused when you see his tweet about how the marchers should've voted and then a few hours later about how everyone has the right to protest and how he respects their right etc. .. someone somewhere managed to make him see how he was stepping all over civil liberties with his first tweet.

What a douche Sad

Destinysdaughter · 23/01/2017 16:18

I think we are going to need a permanent Trumpwatch thread on here for the next 4 years ( or until he's impeached...) to keep track of all his doings...💩😱😈

amispartacus · 23/01/2017 16:19

What they seem to be doing is focusing on one mistake a reporter made that was not true, discussing that and ignoring the rest.

Buzzfeed - discus the claims about the prostitute. Focus on that. Ignore the rest.

Yesterday - focus on the MLK bust. Talk about that. Ignore other questions but try to reinforce the view that the media lie.

It's fascinating. It's textbook distraction, misleading etc. Then go on the attack. It's like what our politicians do when asked difficult questions. Go on the attack. Ignore. Focus on 1 thing but not the rest.

I think Kellyanne Conway is on loan from FAO Schwarz ...

SanFranBear · 23/01/2017 16:39

Apparently there is a lawsuit being filed in the morning around the emoluments clause that he is clearly in breach of. Pretty impressive lost of lawyers involved...

occupydemocrats.com/2017/01/23/trump-just-got-sued-violating-constitution/

It is pretty horrifying that he has opened 32 new businesses since the election. How is that even possible - you would think his business lawyers would all be like 'stop man! You're going to be president!'

Clearly not!

Lweji · 23/01/2017 16:41

Impressive. I mean the businesses. And how many he owns in Russia. Hmm

Formerpigwrestler9 · 23/01/2017 16:48

How is that even possible one can only assume that he is surrounded by sycophants?

originalmavis · 23/01/2017 16:49

Whatever. His Yeehaws will just think him very Bigly Cleverly for having so many millions of very very successful businesses but not making enough money to pay tax.

Roussette · 23/01/2017 16:50

Welcome MrWriter you'll just fit right in nicely with all of us beautifuls.

That Betsy deVos is a pathetic choice for Education Sec, she is very very unpopular in Michigan where she has been operating. I watched her interview, it is so painful, it's almost impossible to watch.

in Greek (?) mythology hubris invites nemesis, Trump embodies hubris, who (or what) will be his nemesis?

originalmavis · 23/01/2017 16:53

Lisa Simpson.

Lweji · 23/01/2017 17:02

It seems that Obama left a very nice letter in the Oval Office.

Any ideas about what it might say?

I'll start with: Do not fuck it up.

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/01/22/donald-trump-shows-secret-obama-letter/

The clip is like watching Dubya but with a worse sense of humour.
"Anybody here has heard of NAFTA?"
And then several "campaign" mentions there.

And it looks like he's just gone in on Monday indeed. :)

Also, watch Pence with that "WTF am I doing here and I hope he doesn't fuck it up" look.

InformalRoman · 23/01/2017 17:10

I just looked up Scott Trump Limited, incorporated on 11th January 2017.

If it's a real Trump business, then why he is he registering a motor vehicle parts and accessories manufacturing business in the UK?

Spudlet · 23/01/2017 17:10

Reporting for lowering duty. I once did an outward bound course that involved abseiling down a very small cliff so I'm completely qualified. Hell, I could practically be President!

He seems to be using the Royal we, is he not?

GingerIvy · 23/01/2017 17:12

Just the first part of the whole article.

"President Donald Trump has fulfilled a campaign pledge by signing an executive order to withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
The trade deal, a linchpin of ex-President Barack Obama's Asia policy, was signed by 12 nations.
"Great thing for the American worker what we just did," Mr Trump as he dumped the pact with a stroke of a pen.
He also cut funding for international groups that provide abortions and freezed hiring of some federal workers.
Mr Trump had vowed to quit the TPP during his presidential campaign."
