They're on holiday for the next two weeks

Could I possibly take a parcel in for them?

And then this fucker arrived Hmm

It weighs s bloody ton, I have nowhere to put it and it's stuck in my dining room! I can't get it up the stairs (was going to push it under my bed)

That's hardly a bloody "parcel" is it!

Hmmm. It doesn't smell funny, does it?

CatchIt · 23/12/2016 23:24

I like your cat!Smile

QueenMortificado · 23/12/2016 23:24

Judging by many of the thread on here it's probably someone's MIL

Looks like you're an accessory to murder now OP. Enjoy Christmas dinner from your jail cell

Pollyxcx · 23/12/2016 23:24

Sof the cat, look at the bloody parcel!

Pollyxcx · 23/12/2016 23:25

It rattles. Not sure it's a body. And it's not leaking anything Hmm

TheGruffaloMother · 23/12/2016 23:26

Did they neglect to mention that said parcel is the size and shape of an undercounter fridge then? Grin Dicks. Have you got a garage it can go in?

Pollyxcx · 23/12/2016 23:28

No garage.

A shed at the end of the garden which leaks?

I could drag it round to theirs and see if their shed is open?

Although if it is their MIL that just makes me look more guilty

HerodZackHunt · 23/12/2016 23:29

Xmas Shock Can you get someone to help you move it to their front door with a bin bag over it and ring the courier or company to collect it?
I suppose they could have ordered it in plenty of time but it was delayed.

TheGruffaloMother · 23/12/2016 23:31

Leaky or not, I'd drag it to the shed and cover the top with a bin bag. It's completely unreasonable of the neighbour to expect you to take in such a big parcel without warning you about its size.

SomeKindofNightmare · 23/12/2016 23:32

Is the cat there for scale? Is it from Amazon? Judging by the huge size of the boxes they've been sending me recently compared to paltry size of the item within, I'm gonna hazard a guess that its probably a jumper.

Yoarchie · 23/12/2016 23:32

Ive had to take a bed in for a neighbour. Some people really take the piss! Sometimes I hide from the delivery man as I don't feel able to tell him that I won't take ridiculous stuff in. When I do take it in (very often) I do it to make the delivery mans job easier as it's better for them if they deliver and get a signature rather than to help piss taking neighbour. My neighbour seems to have a mahoosive online shopping addiction. I wonder where all the stuff actually goes, there is so much big stuff as well as smaller stuff.

ConvincingLiar · 23/12/2016 23:33

Do you have contact details for them? I'd be tempted to text and say that you cannot keep a parcel of this size. WTF were they thinking?

SomeKindofNightmare · 23/12/2016 23:34

Just for clarification, I meant is the box from Amazon - not the cat. It's probably not a good idea to mail cats out in boxes, well, not live ones anyway.

Pollyxcx · 23/12/2016 23:36

And the parcel man HAMMERED on the door when I was in the bath.

I opened it and made a joke about thinking it was old bill or the bailiffs.

He looked at me and said "yep, police part time actually btw you've left your keys in the door" Blush

The cats there because she was looking at me like wtf is this stupid shit in my house for. Hopefully she'll have a good scratch at it.

SomeKindofNightmare · 23/12/2016 23:38

Open it and say the cat did it!!

graveyardkate · 23/12/2016 23:39

Especially at this time of year.... assuming Xmas tree, visitors, presents, extra food and drink - the last thing you want is more stuff lying around!

PavlovianLunge · 23/12/2016 23:39

Clutching at straws, but it might be that it should have been delivered before they went away, and was delayed? That said, why on Earth didn't they warn you about the size and weight, and check that you could still take it?

YANBU, they're taking the piss.

And your cat is gorgeous.

user1477282676 · 23/12/2016 23:46

Love the cat..he's outraged too!

WellKnackered · 23/12/2016 23:48

It might be a small but extremely heavy item in ginormous box. 🤔

Candlestickchick · 23/12/2016 23:49

To be fair to them given the ridiculously disproportionate pacakagine stuff comes on these days it might only be a bottle of wine or something in there

DJBaggySmalls · 23/12/2016 23:50

Give the kids some marker pens and tell them to camouflage it Grin

user1467798821 · 23/12/2016 23:54

Put a table cloth on it and use it as your table for Christmas dinner!

Murphysgirl · 23/12/2016 23:55

I feel for you OP. I had a delivery man knock on the door asking if I could take in a parcel for my neighbour. I said yes and then him and his mate came staggering over with a sofa bed! I didn't feel like I could make them turn around and heave it back on the van and thought I could just squeeze around it for a few hours until my neighbours came home. It ended up being in my hallway for five days! Angry

deelishiS0 · 23/12/2016 23:57

Ha ha is the cat there for scale v funny! Seriously what is the cat' a name I like him
