Not aibu, posting for traffic need urgent suggestions!

Just got to work i'm in the toilet, about to start soon.
Came on this morning, put a tampon in and stupidly only put one more in my bag and forgot my purse (because I'm an idiot!!)

Im usually not that heavy, but just got into the toilet looked down, blood everywhere bled through super tampon I literally put in an hour ago, bleed through onto pants (both sides!!) Tights and skirt are ok (for now!( and thankfully wearing black and sit on black chair!

I have about £2 in change, there's no shops that sell pants anyway around here but there's a little boots that will sell tampons (hopefully I have enough right?!!) What if I don't???! I don't have time to go now, lunch is at 1 so ill go then and put the tampon I have in now but if I'm bleeding like this already there's a good chance I will be a mess by then! any suggestions? tried to clean up pants with toilet paper but they're still wet!

Can you not explain to your boss what has happened and you need to nip home but will be back asap?

Corneliusmurphy · 13/12/2016 08:42

I wouldn't wait till lunch, have a discrete word with your supervisor & borrow some cash and go now! You can always work through the equivalent time in your lunch break.

Lunalovepud · 13/12/2016 08:42

Is there a co-worker you could ask for a pad or something? Would your immediate manager or supervisor be sympathetic if you asked to pop out now or borrow a couple of quid? I am sure someone will help you - it's happened to us all at some point. Good luck!

Strummerville · 13/12/2016 08:42

Any females colleagues you could ask for a pad? I always have some and would be happy to give out in a crisis.

musicinspring1 · 13/12/2016 08:42

I would say an emergency has come up and I have to go home but would be back shortly and make up the time at the end of th day. Is that an option ??

SailingThroughTime · 13/12/2016 08:42

Can you text or ring a colleague to help you out?
Are there tea towels in your work kitchen or paper hand towels in the loo?

Maxwellthecat · 13/12/2016 08:43

Are there no other women in your office that you could ask to borrow a pad from? I've lost count of the times I've been asked/had to ask.

Strongmummy · 13/12/2016 08:43

Explain to your boss you have an urgent issue and you need to borrow some money. It really isn't a big problem

mando12345 · 13/12/2016 08:43

Take pants of keep tights on and user them to hold in place shed loads of loo roll. Can you not ask to borrow sanitary protection from another female colleague?

musicinspring1 · 13/12/2016 08:43

Or borrow money or sanitary ware from a colleague?

Idrinkandiknowstuff · 13/12/2016 08:44

Tell your boss you have to nip home. Trust me, the alternative is so not worth it.

fluffiphlox · 13/12/2016 08:44

Just tell someone you need to nip to the chemist. Why the drama?

Arghhhhhred · 13/12/2016 08:44

I live well over an hour away so can't go home, no female colleges! It's worth an ask to my boss to go to the shop I suppose but I'm still soaking!!

BadToTheBone · 13/12/2016 08:46

Tell boss, borrow a fiver, go to boots, go commando.

conkerpods · 13/12/2016 08:46

Just borrow some money and go to the shop?

FatOldBag · 13/12/2016 08:46

Yes explain to the boss. He might even lend you some money!

TheInternetIsForPorn · 13/12/2016 08:47

I'd just tell my boss what's happened. You can't sit all day in that state. Do you do theory of job you can do from home. If so you'd be better going home, cleaning up and cracking on.

gamerchick · 13/12/2016 08:47

Wad your knickers up with toilet paper and go have a quiet word with your boss. It doesn't look like you have many options unless there is someone you could call to come to you with supplies.

JosephineMaynard · 13/12/2016 08:47

I'd explain the situation to your boss and ask for permission to pop to the chemist to get more sanitary protection.

HolidayHunterTeam · 13/12/2016 08:48

Go comAndo??

OwlinaTree · 13/12/2016 08:48

Borrow some cash and buy a packet of tampons. Leave them in your desk so you are not caught short again. Hope you get it sorted.

DailyFail1 · 13/12/2016 08:48

I have heavy periods too. Stuff a thick wad of tissue inside you absolutely layer up the issue in your pants (use the whole roll if needed) then tell your boss what happened and go to boots. Get some fem fresh too. Will help if anything goes thru the tights.

DailyFail1 · 13/12/2016 08:49

Will help with smell* i get clots so its a bit grim :(

Arghhhhhred · 13/12/2016 08:50

I know I just font feel comfortable borrowing money, i've just started and don't know anyone well enough

Poor you, horrible situation to be in. I think put in new tampon, take off soiled knickers and tell boss you need emergency loan and nip to Boots. Buy more tampons and ask if they have giant pads with wings. Rinse knickers at work dry best you can stick pad on and get through your day. If you can for future store a bag at work with period kit in (spare knickers, tampons etc. Maybe even trousers) hope your boss helps
