Not aibu, posting for traffic need urgent suggestions!

Just got to work i'm in the toilet, about to start soon.
Came on this morning, put a tampon in and stupidly only put one more in my bag and forgot my purse (because I'm an idiot!!)

Im usually not that heavy, but just got into the toilet looked down, blood everywhere bled through super tampon I literally put in an hour ago, bleed through onto pants (both sides!!) Tights and skirt are ok (for now!( and thankfully wearing black and sit on black chair!

I have about £2 in change, there's no shops that sell pants anyway around here but there's a little boots that will sell tampons (hopefully I have enough right?!!) What if I don't???! I don't have time to go now, lunch is at 1 so ill go then and put the tampon I have in now but if I'm bleeding like this already there's a good chance I will be a mess by then! any suggestions? tried to clean up pants with toilet paper but they're still wet!

That's good news that it wasn't anything really bad or sinister.
What a relief, I've not seen a thread escalate quite so quickly into something quite so different in a long time!
Have a good rest today X

Glad you are ok and thank you for starting this thread, before this I didn't realise that very heavy flow was something to be cornered about.

Justaboy · 15/12/2016 00:36

Now there's another tread running on whether or not a woman should /should not go to A&E, on the face of it a heavy flow would not normally dictate that !

But each one has its own circumstances Hope your feeling relived anyway:)

Gatekeeper · 15/12/2016 08:22

hope you had a good night sleep last night and that you are feeling better today

Verbena37 · 15/12/2016 19:42

justaboy but if you think of it as heavy blood loss, rather than heavy period flow, you can understand why the OP went to A & E.
For all we know, she may have been MC.
Any unexplainable blood loss needs checking out and if it's a large amount, not easily recognisible as normal for you, then A&E is fine.

Justaboy · 16/12/2016 14:50

Verbena37 Well i used this example as there was quite some debate on the 0ther thread on whether or not you ought to go and seek A&E help for what might appear simple problems and it in the other case does seem it was warranted like the blood loss case here.

It was also to illustrate that sometimes its a very difficult call to make to seek further attention or wait till the doctors surgery opens in the morning etc.

Works both ways. I have a GP friend who once told a young couple over the phone to wait till the morning then then take their child into the surgery. The child was in the early stages of meningitis and he missed it due it seem in part that English wasn't their native language . Seems by all accounts that any reasonable GP would have done the same thing but it seems it was one of those, "there but for the grace of god go I" situations:-(
