AIBU to change my birthday??

I know I can't change my birthday but I mean the day we celebrate it. My birthday is tomorrow but i want to move it to june. I am excited about tomorrow but I hate it, I hate being born close to Christmas,I hate that I can never book a table anywhere cos everywhere is full of Christmas work parties, and I really bloody hate when my DB and his DP dont send separate cards but one that says 'happy birthday-mas'. June seems such a nice time of year to celebrate a birthday,it would be nice to get all dressed up n go out without ruining my outfit by putting a duffle coat and scarf over it.
So,is it OK to ask my loved ones to celebrate with me in June or am I being weird and precious??

Weird and precious imho. Your birthday is your birthday, not some random date months later.

LucyLastik · 07/12/2016 22:23

YANBU I have the autocorrect issue too Grin

BackforGood · 07/12/2016 22:24

Sounds like a good plan to me - at least the celebration part. I'm not sure many people will give you a card then, but you can just tell everyone you want to have a BBQ or meet up for a picnic or something so you are holding your 'official birthday' in June.

HardLightHologram · 07/12/2016 22:24

I feel your pain. I wanted to go out this year for a meal but everywhere is running Christmas menus and it's either ridiculously expensive or fully booked everywhere.

Bah bloody humbug.

dementedpixie · 07/12/2016 22:25

And my poor dh has his birthday 2 days after Christmas so I make sure he gets separate birthday cards and presents

Goodythreeshoes · 07/12/2016 22:26

Are you the Queen?

Kez171271 · 07/12/2016 22:26

Mine is the 17th. I hate it. X

HarrietVane99 · 07/12/2016 22:27

Why not? The Queen has an Official Birthday in June, as well as her actual birthday. You have the lovely long days in June, really nice for dinner at the seaside or by a river, or for an outdoor event.

Crikeyblimey · 07/12/2016 22:28

Mine is the 27th. Everyone is either knackered, full or broke by my birthday. Celebrate when you want.

DH's b'day is 14 Feb so similar nightmare for him. He chooses when his birthday gets celebrated each year.

Probably just outed myself with this detail!

Sugarcrystal2002 · 07/12/2016 22:30

Dh's is Christmas eve, which has made him into a bit of a grinch at Christmas

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 07/12/2016 22:30

I think it was Winnie the Pooh who had some kind of UnBirthday. Go for it.

Vixxfacee · 07/12/2016 22:30

My birthday is this week also. Never had any issues. I don't think its that close to christmas.
Happy birthday!

Astro55 · 07/12/2016 22:32

DA is January and he wanted an outdoor party - we held it in June - it was lovely and he very much enjoyed it

Summer23 · 07/12/2016 22:35

It's your birthday, your choice 😀

fishandlilacs · 07/12/2016 22:36

My son and Dh share the same birthday 18th Jan.

Its the pits. Everyone is skint and tired.

We do a.BBq in may instead

growinganotherhead · 07/12/2016 22:37

Count yourself lucky, my birthday is 20th January. Bills are coming in and everyone is spent up. I often get the stuff no one wanted at Christmas re-gifted!!! Crikey your son has the right idea Grin

sh700 · 07/12/2016 22:38

My late DF's birthday was 3rd January. One year he'd had enough of it being an after thought after Christmas and said he would celebrate it 3rd July instead. He kept all cards for 6 months and when family called to wish him a happy birthday they were told to call back in 6 months. Everyone though he was a bit mad but we all got used to it after a few years!

DianaMitford · 07/12/2016 22:39

I know loads of people who do this. It makes sense all round as far as I can see.

LifeLong13 · 07/12/2016 22:39

Go back 9 months and have a happy conception day instead of a happy birthday Wink

MadamDrag0n · 07/12/2016 22:39

You need a half birthday 😊 I have a Boxing Day baby it's rubbish

Oysterbabe · 07/12/2016 22:39

Yabu. But I don't really get why adults give a shit about their birthday.

Graceflorrick · 07/12/2016 22:40

We're all January birthdays here and I feel your pain. Nobody can muster the energy to be positive about my big day, even my close family used to forget it as they were too wrapped up in festivities. However, I put on an enormous and very expensive extravaganza for my DC's January birthday as I feel the need to compensate.
