Festive door bows. Yes or no?

These are tremendously popular round my way. AIBU to think they look a bit shit? Your door doesn't look like a wrapped present. It looks like it's got some cheap fabric pulled over it. And lord knows how manky it'll be by Christmas since most of them have been up since mid November. And the ones I've seen selling on Facebook look so overpriced for what they are.

IpDipCatnip · 06/12/2016 19:53

I saw my first today and to be perfectly honest it looked shit. It was getting mucky on the edges and hadn't been centred properly and just drooped and looked very sorry for itself.

IpDipCatnip · 06/12/2016 19:55

Although not slthougj 😳

ijustwannadance · 06/12/2016 19:55

Naff.

dementedpixie · 06/12/2016 19:55

They do look a bit crap.

Champagneformyrealfriends · 06/12/2016 19:56

Tacky.

BusterTheBulldog · 06/12/2016 19:57

I have never seen one! Off to google. They sound a bit shit though.

Badcat666 · 06/12/2016 19:57

I just had to google this... WTF?! So people dress their doors like presents with a shitty bow in the middle??!

Thank god it hasn't spread to where I live yet... what's wrong with a nice wreath?!

iklboo · 06/12/2016 19:59

The look like you've got your curtains stuck in the door.

BusterTheBulldog · 06/12/2016 20:00

I'm with you badcat not here either. I think they could look nice on a big dominant black wooden front door, or maybe a shop but generally i think they are a no. Will sti k with a wreath!

Hookyarnandstichmarker · 06/12/2016 20:00

My mother has a festive bow that's been on her front door for as long as I can remember and I love it.

LillyBugg · 06/12/2016 20:03

On my local Facebook group they are going for £35 each. £35!!! I don't get it.

Badcat666 · 06/12/2016 20:11

Just realised I will never be able to pull off this new fad as it will cover up my letterbox AND house number.

Am gutted Grin

MaureenMLove · 06/12/2016 20:12

Hmm, I saw one today, not a great look imho. Looks OK on a business, saw that too, but not a home.

But I am a complete grinch about Christmas and don't get any outside Christmas tat, so what do I know!

JellyBelli · 06/12/2016 20:12

If I did that it would be nicked.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 06/12/2016 20:13

Oh I hate them with a passion. They sell between £12 and £20 here. Also shitty net and bauble wreaths for £20 to £30. I used to work in a florists and we had to make our holly wreaths. They ranged from £5 to £15 and people moaned about the cost, yet fawn over this tat. Grin bitter much!

Oh you ole grumpy gits. I have a nice red bow with brass bells underneath, it looks nice. Imho
Wreaths are for funerals anyway.

glitterandtinsel · 06/12/2016 20:20

Just googled them. Haven't made it to Hampshire. Boring wreaths here.

SecretRed · 06/12/2016 20:25

I quite like them. Never seen one in real life though and as my front door is looking quite tatty I fear it would be like sprinkling glitter on a turd.
