Festive door bows. Yes or no?

These are tremendously popular round my way. AIBU to think they look a bit shit? Your door doesn't look like a wrapped present. It looks like it's got some cheap fabric pulled over it. And lord knows how manky it'll be by Christmas since most of them have been up since mid November. And the ones I've seen selling on Facebook look so overpriced for what they are.

We're in Essex and they're EVERYWHERE!! There are about 10 on my street alone!!

I was inspired on a trip to USA at Christmas, the huge red bows on their front doors looked lovely.

Haven't seen any in London! I decorated my front door as a snowman but live in a flat so only 2 of our neighbours have to see it which is a shame as it's obviously awesome

They seem pretty common in our area of Liverpool, too. I liked them at first, but the ubiquitousness has put me off. They all seem to be from the same shop or something. I like to see a bit of personality to people's decorations, like the tree thread. :)

I have a naff bauble wreath on my door, flanked by two smaller jungly bell wreaths from Costco! Love them.

I'd never heard of them - had to Google. TBH they don't look that different from the red crosses on doors where people had the Black Death!

This hasn't made it to my area yet (thank God!) Car antlers seem to be the thing every year so expecting to see lots of those soon.

I'm in Kent and have yet to see any. I love a good wreath but can't imagine a bow looking particularly nice (or practical).

DH and I walked to our local for a very rare meal and saw a few.

There is one two doors down and looks like a red net bow with what appears to be a Santa beard on the middle. Strange.

I don't like them. I just got a lovely pre lit wreath, and I've put Christmas tree foliage on the windowsillls that I'm going to put fairy lights in, then a couple of lanterns by the front door. That's it for our outside decorations.

I love car antlers my husband hates them and near Christmas they mysteriously appear each night on his car...
