Whoever invented that water bottle throwing thing needs to be shut in a room with 100 children doing it over. And. Over. Again

Losing it

Likeaninjanow · 26/11/2016 19:21

I have declared this an outside game!

natwebb79 · 26/11/2016 19:21

Teacher here. I hear yer.

Rainydayspending · 26/11/2016 19:22

I make them pay for new water bottles out of their pocket money. They stopped.

WellErrr · 26/11/2016 19:22

What game?

Boundaries · 26/11/2016 19:23

It has spread to pritt sticks at my school.

I will start doing it to actual children if it carries on.

Cryifiwantto · 26/11/2016 19:26

well trust me you do not want to know

Oblomov16 · 26/11/2016 19:27

I so hate it.

FromIbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 26/11/2016 19:29

DS does this on the stairs (so the sound is effectively amplified by the understairs cupboard) - drives me nuts!

teacher54321 · 26/11/2016 19:29

I confiscate bottles at the beginning of the lesson. The noise drives me crackers!

ChuckitintheBucket · 26/11/2016 19:30

Mine got over it pretty quickly but yes it's extremely irritating.

theSnuffster · 26/11/2016 19:35

Gives me the rage! The boy had his bottle confiscated for doing it at achool. He also broke one of his bottles so he was made to pay for the replacement. Hasn't stopped him though!

Gatekeeper · 26/11/2016 19:38

Didn't realise it was a 'thing'..
Ds has been doing this for weeks now and everytime it lands on the hard floor something snaps in my head..arghhh

FuckingHellz · 26/11/2016 19:40

I didn't know this was a thing until ndn dd did it. Are you meant to get it to land upright or something?

Young 'uns today eh Confused

MaureenMLove · 26/11/2016 19:46

I thought it was just my school, until my teacher friend 300 miles from me, posted this! I feel your pain.

BarbarianMum · 26/11/2016 19:59

Oh you old miseryguts what's the harm? It's no more annoying than any other sodding craze (remember bumpeez anyone?)

Definitely an outside game though. Good for them to get a bit of fresh air.

HighwayDragon1 · 26/11/2016 19:59

Flip - thud - flip - thud - flip - thud - flip - land - squeal and dab.

Also a teacher...

spiderlight · 26/11/2016 20:00

I have just screeched at DS that if he flips his bottel one more time I will stamp on it. I cannot begin to express how irritating it is. He is obsessed. I had his friend round the other evening and they spent the entire two hours they had together making videos of each other flipping bottles up and down the stairs. AngryAngryAngry

MingeFog · 26/11/2016 20:05

I had to get to the end of the thread to realise people weren't talking about these kinds of water bottles Grin I have them on the brain at the minute and I'm really excited about getting into bed with one later.

I thought perhaps OP's kids were chucking them out of bed in the night, hence annoyance [embarrassed]

Sleeperandthespindle · 26/11/2016 20:07

I love watching them! How sad is that?

TupsNSups · 26/11/2016 20:08

It is driving me mad! my bedroom is directly under they boys 9 and 11, I have flipped excuse the pun quite a few times now at 7am on a weekend morning Angry

BottleflippingisBANNED · 26/11/2016 20:08

Name changed as I posted about this on FB

I was awoken this morning by DD asking me what would happen if they had been bottle flipping downstairs and something got smashed.... went downstairs to find this

Utterly utterly fuming Angry

I was so angry I just stood there like a fish and then made a cup of tea and shut myself upstairs for an hour. FURIOUS

Trifleorbust · 26/11/2016 20:09

Just take their bottles off them. You drink from it and don't throw it, or it ends up in my bottom drawer, is my rule.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 26/11/2016 20:09

It has been going on for WEEKS here and shows no sign of letting up. Also work in a school but my contact with most of the kids is during their non-lesson time so they think they have more right to do it. I am sick of mopping up little pools of water on desks.

And then I come home and it starts up in my own living room.

Grrrrrrrf

ihatebottleflipping · 26/11/2016 20:10

YADNBU! Grin

ClarissaDarling · 26/11/2016 20:12

I had to google, literally throwing it in the air to land on its bottom??
