Just thinking about it: can you imagine being the butler/maitre d/housekeeper/chamber maid etc at the White House and facing your employers changing from the Obamas to Don and Mel? I really do think they will have trouble hanging on to the domestic staff over the next few months Grin

I agree with Zebra

ItsJustNotRight · 10/11/2016 23:38

Grin there's a lot of cat bum faces on here tonight.

Michelle's the exception, not the rule. The majority of First Ladies are not like her, and Melania has no obligation to do anything.

Calling her Melanoma, and yes, talking shit about their son (as I saw on another thread) is fucking dismal.

A lot of women on this site post about their awful husbands, but you don't get people telling them they're at fault. Tables turn when it's Donald Trump and Melania in question.

dailymaillazyjournos · 10/11/2016 23:40

Fourthed. Not very kind. I'm absolutely anything but a Trump fan and think he is not president material but that doesn't mean he or his wife while be nightmare employers.

I thought their son looked overwhelmed, scared and very uncomfortable, which is hardly surprising under the circumstances. Poor boy. He was bound to be shattered bearing in mind the time and all the hooha involved.

Pluto30 · 10/11/2016 23:40

Bill's a sexual abuser, but it's ok guys, he's got charm.

PurpleDaisies · 10/11/2016 23:42

Your best friend dies of melanoma before their 30th birthday and you might think it's a totally inappropriate nickname for a woman who appears to have done nothing wrong except having spectacularly bad taste in men.

Absolutely.

He's a dick and has put himself up for public attention. She's his wife and has been carried along with it. Yet you address him by his given name and her by an offensive name. That's misogyny IMO.

WorraLiberty · 10/11/2016 23:43

You could cope with 'Melanie' but not a simple Slovenian name like Melania?

Costacoffeeplease · 10/11/2016 23:46

Exactly hedda

EverySongbirdSays · 10/11/2016 23:47

Look, I'm not defending Trump, I'm really scared of his Presidency

but "passed a speech off has her own"

More like was given a speech and told

"Read this out"

Even Barack Obama doesn't write all his own speeches

And yes I agree with Hedda that this thread is misogynistic

UnGoogleable · 10/11/2016 23:48

I've seen nothing to suggest she's anything but perfectly pleasant. I'm sure she'll be fine - it's not like she's not used to having domestic staff.

Pluto30 · 10/11/2016 23:49

I'm sure you coped just fine with the name Barack Obama, which is hardly "James Smith". You're just being unnecessarily cruel, and it's irrelevant that you've had skin cancer.

Lorelei76 · 10/11/2016 23:50

She's a grown woman and she chose to marry him. I don't know why Hillary didn't divorce Bill either.

Can we have a single childfree woman next? I guess Julia G was a nod to that one but we're going back in time now...

I never understood the point of the First Lady thing.

Redactio · 10/11/2016 23:50

If the Clintons had been back in the White House, inserting cigars into the vaginas of interns would have been back on the agenda, as well as giving blow jobs to the POTUS.

ArmySal · 10/11/2016 23:50

I agree it's in poor taste calling her 'Melanoma'.

OutDamnedWind · 10/11/2016 23:53

Yeah Worra, that one different vowel makes it forrin so difficult. Honestly.

I am horrified that Trump has been elected, but this thread is particularly unpleasant.

Lorelei76 · 10/11/2016 23:55

Ive been trying to think of names for that bigoted arse...can't think of any so how about he can be Melanoma and she can be Melania?

This is reminding me of the pathetic stuff around Vicky Pryce. Women are not children. She wants to be married to that misogynistic shite bag. She may be nice in other ways sure, but how can I respect that choice? It's not like I'd have a chat with her in real life, those are people you avoid in real life.

IthoughtATMwasacashpoint · 10/11/2016 23:57

That habit could be entertaining if he's ever invited to Buckingham Palace. I can see the DM headline "POTUS in Tower for groping Her Majesty".

ItsJustNotRight · 10/11/2016 23:58

Yes I'm happy to slag her off because she is only concerned with her own self interest. If you marry an abusive twat that is your problem. Standing by him while he abuses everyone else is entirely different especially when you aren't financially disadvantaged and it is unlikely to cause you or your family any hardship. Especially when he is the president of the USA. She should be ashamed of herself and so should all the women who voted for him.

Amandahugandkisses · 10/11/2016 23:58

Such nastiness to this Woman. Really spiteful.

Lorelei76 · 11/11/2016 00:00

Btw i also have a foreign name no one can pronounce. I don't think the OP is eeeeevil. I also thought her comment about the little boy was intended sympathetically.

PurpleDaisies · 11/11/2016 00:00

There's a typo there surely? Blaming the wife of an abusive husband for him abusing her? I am gobsmacked that a woman could write that.

Redactio · 11/11/2016 00:00

ItsJ.
Do you know her personally?

Pluto30 · 11/11/2016 00:01

You can say that every woman who voted for Clinton should be ashamed too then, because she's stood by him despite all of his sexual transgressions (and there are a lot - far more with evidence than Trump's).
