Are there are people sitting in their houses wearing onsies while all their needs and whims arrive via monthly subscription boxes?

I get lootcrate, I like 90% of the stuff so it's good for me.

Sciurus83 · 19/10/2016 20:12

I love trying beauty products and had birch box for about a year but ended up with a cupboard full of small bottles of things I didn't use and an over abundance of hand creams. I did get some lovely ones so wouldn't say it was an washout but I definitely got bored and decided to save the money and spend on fewer products I really want. I do like having minis for travel and will get a latest in beauty box if I want one, they are one offs and you choose what you want from a big selection and I much prefer that. I would love flowers delivered but struggling with the price of bloom and wild. Checking out gin though!

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 19/10/2016 20:15

I used to get Glossy box for a number of years.

I cancelled when it went downhill and there became a big disparacy in the boxes.

PipandNut · 19/10/2016 20:17

I'm a member of a huge beauty FB group called Mrs Gloss and the goss and there's loads and loads of beauty box discussions. I didn't know half of them existed!

Maudlinmaud · 19/10/2016 20:20

Drama thank you.
I burn melts too as they have more of a throw. Currently Im into swan creek but these boxes have really took my fancy.
Thanks again for the info.Brew

SantinoRice · 19/10/2016 20:22

I would say don't get the toucan box. After a few of them they start to get a bit samey & you end up with so many packets of tiny felt tip pens. So bad for the environment.

hollinhurst84 · 19/10/2016 20:24

I get kawaii panda (which is Korean beauty, not a subscription and I love it)
Friction free - razor blades, works out cheaper
Graze - I joined v early and pay v low price!
Pink parcel - period box with actual decent beauty products and tampons

MamaMiaBebe · 19/10/2016 20:35

Love subscription boxes! I get one called Universal Yums. It's a box containing snacks from a different country each month. This month will be Russia, last month was Brazil. My favourite subscription box by far! www.universalyums.com/

I also get My Little Box from France (beauty and extra items) and Kawaii box from Japan (cute keyrings, pens, stickers, toys, snacks).

SallyR0se · 19/10/2016 20:36

I imagine all of the mini things would build up, unused. I no longer fall for the free gifts at beauty counters. I have tonnes of tiny Clinique & L'Occitane things in a drawer, saving them for imaginary holidays.

Although if I signed up to a chocolate one... That wouldn't happen! Having said that though, one good bar of chocolate is worth more than a whole lot of not-my-favourite-but-I'll-scoff-it-anyway-chocolate.

ijustwannadance · 19/10/2016 20:40

Steff13 how much is the mysteriouspackage subscription and how long does it last?
No info on their site unless you sign up to membership.

Libitina · 19/10/2016 20:45

I used to get Birchbox, but it became a bit boring.
I now get Lookfantastic and use pretty much everything I'm sent.

PickAChew · 19/10/2016 22:36

I'm very staid in my subscriptions. M&S wine club! Actually rather good value - I get the "reserva" reds collection and it's £100 for 12 bottles and they're usually all really good. Only had the odd one that's been instant hangover.

TroubleinDaFamily · 19/10/2016 22:46

Will try Gousto, thanks for the heads up.

TroubleinDaFamily · 19/10/2016 22:46

We have a Laithwaites subscription, forgot about that. Grin

TroubleinDaFamily · 19/10/2016 22:47

I had My Little Box for about 4 months. It it was generally rubbish and the beauty products were ok but many weren't name brands but the other things were awful- poor quality and stuff you'd have already like a cushion cover, nasty photo frame and hairbrush. Most went to the charity shop. They emailed me to invite me to a review evening which was for recent unsubscribers but it was at about 5pm so I couldn't make it. I offered to review via email which they said they'd take me up on but never bothered...

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 19/10/2016 23:01

I think OP ran scared.

MyPeriodFeatures · 19/10/2016 23:14

Tomorrowwillbeachicken

Conclusion is alcohol ones - yes. I was being unreasonable. Still on the fence about others.

Lol there a lot of boxes around. Really is one for everyone

MyPeriodFeatures · 19/10/2016 23:22

Dyou know what I'd like? One with 10 Marlborough light, a small bottle of gin, shit load of crisps, some hair bands (because there's never enough). A pair of socks, some casual sex and a reminder to water my house plants.
