To think subscription boxes are scraping the barrel

Are there are people sitting in their houses wearing onsies while all their needs and whims arrive via monthly subscription boxes?

I want a subscription box of razors, eyeliner and shampoo. These are things I always forget to buy!

At least if I have razors of my own I won't need to use DP's to shave my legs, more like planing doorframes, as my DP says.

Ooh DS1 would love a tea one, but being in the army he's hardly ever in the same place 2 months running. If he was at uni or somewhere more settled I'd definitely get him one.

CheshireChat · 19/10/2016 17:20

If I had the money I'd love some of them, the Asian beauty one (kawaii I think) sounds great.

Other ones, not so much.

WyfOfBathe · 19/10/2016 17:22

I got my free first graze box, but cancelled the subscription before I had to pay for any. It was okay, but v. expensive when I could just go out and buy bigger bags of food I actually like.

I love stationery and thought about getting a subscription box, but I think I'm too fussy about my notebooks/pens to trust a company to pick them for me Grin

autumnboys · 19/10/2016 17:25

I've just ordered this out of curiosity after a friend was impressed.

We've had Pact coffee & Graze in the recent past. I've paused Pact for a bit while we clear the backlog.

DD used some Christmas money for a six month subscription to Kawaii box. She loved it, they send a selection of fun Japanese and South Korean bits and bobs plus some unusual sweets. It's a good one for tween and teen girls.

steff13 · 19/10/2016 17:26

What's the mystery one steff?

I really love subscription boxes. Sometimes you get crappy things, especially in the beauty boxes, but for me they are still worth it. I just really like trying new things.

I just subscribed to Cheese Posties and I'm so looking forward to that arriving! Blurt's Buddy Box is very nice too, it always has a great selection. Also love Cure & Simple because what's not to love about getting fancy bacon through your letterbox?!

LooseSeal · 19/10/2016 17:27

Kawaii box isn't beauty, it's pens, key rings, little plush toys and stickers, that sort of thing.

Oh, I do razor blades, too. In fact, my next shipment comes today.

Nerd Block does a Jr. box that is good for younger kids, if they're into "nerdy" stuff. I just discovered a monthly Harry Potter box so I've put myself on the waiting list for that.

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 19/10/2016 17:30

Kawaii panda. Nothing will ever beat Memebox for kbeauty boxes.

iklboo · 19/10/2016 17:32

I get the gin one!

idontlikealdi · 19/10/2016 17:34

I had graze for a while - so not good for ww.

Kids had mister maker it was truly shite.

Maudlinmaud · 19/10/2016 17:36

I've never had gin! I'm going to have to try it now.

pixiebum · 19/10/2016 17:36

I sell mystery yarn boxes and yarn - sales of mystery yarn boxes outweigh yarn customers can see 2:1

I don't get it TBH - I would prefer to have yarn I can see first lol

DogDespair · 19/10/2016 17:37

I get Toucan Box for my 5yr old, it's really good. It's arts & crafts. A while back there was a pirate/treasure map one and it even came with the teabag needed to age the map. That impressed me to be honest!

justdontevenfuckingstart · 19/10/2016 17:42

Ooh am definitely looking into this as a Christmas presents. Thanks everyone.

AbernathysFringe · 19/10/2016 17:44

Evolving into the humans from Wall-E. Just another helping hand towards that...

rubyshoes3 · 19/10/2016 17:46

Totally agree Tomorrow Nothing can beat Memebox. I loved receiving my Memebox as it had brands that are hard to buy outside of Korea, I found so many things I love from them.
With all the other Korean beauty boxes I find they are nice for people who are starting out with Korean products as they normally have products from brands like Tony Moly and Etude House. I feel like they have products from cheaper well known brands only.

ABitCrapReally · 19/10/2016 17:51

I get HelloFresh boxes every other week. I love it! changed the way I cook rice and cous cous forever.
I've also discovered chermoula, romanesco and purple potatoes thanks to them.
I have voucher codes for a free trial box if anyone wants them.

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 19/10/2016 17:51

I was an early adopter who reviewed them so got a lot and to be honest I'll still be using it up by the time I get my pension

Katedotness1963 · 19/10/2016 17:51

My 15 year old gets Loot Crate. He loves it. We renew for his birthday and Christmas.

DramaInPyjamas · 19/10/2016 17:53

I subscribe to CandleBelle and Flamingo Candles subscription boxes on and off - only because I know I will use all the wax melts included.

The beauty ones just include tiny samples and shit they couldn't get rid of in the shops

Used to do a miso soup one as well.

Roygrace · 19/10/2016 17:56

I want to hear more about mystery package one
