To think the Malteaser advert is in really poor taste

Bearbehind · 04/10/2016 21:55

Just seen a Malteaser advert where a woman in a wheelchair is talking to 2 friend in the park about her date.

The jist is she had a spasm, he enjoyed the repercussions, and whilst demonstrating her hand actions the malteasers shoot out of the bag and go every where.

Is it me or is that really bad taste?

Lol! That sounds very like 'I'm wrong but I won't admit it so I'll just revert to insults' there nancy

You're quite right, it is completely impossible to agree if it's a double entrendre or not if you're making up your own accompany story to go with it- it could mean anything!

OP posts:
Bearbehind · 06/10/2016 17:52

I think nancy was saying I need a good shag skylander

To be fair, if men really did ejaculate Maltesers she might be quite right!

On the sky+/ taped saga - I've realised I say 'videoed'

Yep. I agree bear, you do sound dull. Glad you're not around me and my mate's when we talk about sex Smile or perhaps YOU should be glad Wink

metaphoricus · 06/10/2016 17:55

Bibbity Get BlancheBlue down as a NO quick. Oh. You did.

Nermerner · 06/10/2016 17:57

I tape stuff. Even though I have state of the art TV everything. I might occasionally say record if I feel a burning need to be modern.

Oh, and it's definitely not a double entendre as it doesn't have a double meaning.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 06/10/2016 17:58

the prelude to the Maltese's spilling is her saying her hand was on his cock

Well no, not quite.

She says her hand wandered, it might mean her hand wandered into the packet of maltesers, and then they showed the packet spilling.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 06/10/2016 17:59

The wandering hand set the scene for the double meaning.

The wandering hand set the scene for the double meaning.

Oh my days Hmm

So what did the wanking hand gestures mean then?

What about the fact she says they were getting frisky?

OP posts:
Bearbehind · 06/10/2016 18:11

Glad you're not around me and my mate's when we talk about sex

I'd love to be around actually.

If you can take a demonstration and discussion on wanking and ejaculation and make it into just sitting down eating sweets and spilling them then the possibilities are endless Grin

OP posts:
metaphoricus · 06/10/2016 18:15

As in, they were on a date, they ate maltesers, she spilled them

She had a packet of Maltesers in her hand while she was telling her friends about what happened on her date. That her hand wandered and then she had a spasm, and her boyfriend wasn't complaining. It was never said or implied that she and her date were eating Maltesers.

but to all us adults who know about sex and stuff - she is actually hinting that he jerked off

This actually makes you sound very young.

metaphoricus · 06/10/2016 18:22

Glad you're not around me and my mate's when we talk about sex

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned the rogue apostrophe.
Maybe you are all too polite. I certainly am.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 06/10/2016 18:28

I'm way too polite.

metaphoricus · 06/10/2016 18:59

I think it's good to be polite, always. I think if one has a strong enough case, and the courage of one's own convictions, then one should be able to present that case without insult or injury to one's interlocutor, whether you are right or wrong. Once you start chucking insults and try to patronise then you have lost the battle. And to suggest that somebody needs a shag because they think an advert about wanking is a bit seedy, well they are in need of a lesson in life. I was not even remotely shocked by this advert. I just found it a little distasteful. That does not mean to say I find sex distasteful. I know all about what men and women do between the sheets, in a disused garage, and in the kitchen. Been there, done that. But less is more.

Now how polite was that?

nancyblackett80 · 06/10/2016 19:21

To be fair, it was the OP who initially started calling people stupid because they wouldn't agree she/he was right.

It really doesn't matter what anyone says at this point.

You are simply spoiling for a fight.

Bearbehind · 06/10/2016 19:35

The problem is though nancy, your argument makes absolutely no sense so it's very difficult to point this out and be really polite at the same time.

Ok, the stupid comment was a bit harsh but it was aimed at LRD who'd been belittling me for quite some time.

You can't claim this to be a double entendre based on the actual story and the one you've made up in you head by completing ignoring what is actually said and done.

I'm happy to be proved wrong but so far, only you have attempted to explain that, if the secondary image is spilling sweets, then what the meaning of that is, and it's based on a completely fabricated scenario and ignoring the actual scenario so does nothing to convince me or anyone else you're right.

metaphoricus · 06/10/2016 19:51

Nancy said You are simply spoiling for a fight

Then it's your duty to report this thread to MNHQ, and let them decide
which of us has been the most offensive.

nancyblackett80 · 06/10/2016 19:56

I said it was my interpretation after you asked for opinions, which you then picked apart - like you did with everyone else who hasn't agreed with you and took the bait.

You're like a child who must have the last word.

Bearbehind · 06/10/2016 20:02

You can't 'interpret' something by ignoring the facts and making up and alternative story.

I completely agree that, had there been no narrative or the narrative was very vague and you were left to make up your own story then it's a DE but, when there is an explicit narrative you can't just ignore that and decide it actually means something else.

You can happily have the last word if it makes some sense.

OP posts:
Beardsareweird · 06/10/2016 20:10

I haven't read the thread, but thought the advert was in bad taste because it was quite clearly referring to a woman making a man ejaculate by wanking him- albeit accidentally. Nasty.

BlancheBlue · 06/10/2016 20:33

Is the ad with the hearing aid insinuating that it fell out during sex and then the dog gobbled it?

Bearbehind · 06/10/2016 20:40

Its funny really, even though the whole double entendre debate wasn't the point of the thread at all, it perfectly demonstrates how different people can see exactly the same thing and have completely contradictory views on it- just like the actual advert.

I still think the advert is grim. I'm not shocked or offended by it, I just find it inappropriate and in poor taste to advertise chocolate but it's clear that different people's opinion on what is and isn't funny, or even what they do and don't see, are completely different.

OP posts:
Isitadoubleentendre · 06/10/2016 20:49

Wouldn't it be nice if men did actually jizz maltesers.......

Bearbehind · 06/10/2016 21:10

Yes it would be fab- loving your user name!

OP posts:
BARB060609 · 06/10/2016 21:14

I agree with you OP, I wasn't sure if it was my dirty mind reading it like that but yes, if it was a person without a physical disability then I am sure they wouldn't get away with it! I can imagine children asking their parents to explain what it means.
