I did an online shop but had no time to complete so booked my slot, put £40 worth of knobbly bobbly ice creams in the basket and checkout!

Went to complete my shopping and it wont let me change the order as I checked out at 2 mins past midnight!

So now I have 160 ice creams being delivered between 9am and 10am.

I thinking ill just accept the order and we can live on ice cream for a week.

AIBU?

I now have to go actually shopping with 2dc, fuck

Laughing at the lady with the ginger. NEVER order fresh ginger online. They send you tree-sized logs.

I very frequently order 5 bunches of bananas, not individual ones, and 4 4-packs of tinned tomatoes, not 4 tins. We're always good for bananas and tinned toms here.

JagerPlease · 18/08/2016 07:20

You should just be able to decline the order at the door if customer services don't help. I accidentally checked an order out twice and they turned up with two lots of everything. Delivery guy hadn't noticed but was no problem taking one of them back

AlbusPercival · 18/08/2016 07:27

Whoops!

I too will be very surprised if they have that stock level of bobbly bobbly. Also they are like 250kcal each so you won't need any more food for the week. Hopefully they substitute some for the clearly superior twister Grin

FedUpBird · 18/08/2016 07:29

I did this one Christmas, booked a slot with 2 bottles of baileys...completely forgot about it, did my Christmas shopping in an actual shop then the baileys turned up, delivery driver said it happens all the time

NeonPinkNails · 18/08/2016 07:30

Brilliant! I usually use a bottle or two of Jack Daniels if I'm reserving in a hurry. Wish I'd forget to change it sometimes Grin.

SnakeWitch · 18/08/2016 07:31

Nice work! DH's boss gave them all a pack of cherry tomatoes recently as his wife had somehow ordered a daft amount.

OnionKnight · 18/08/2016 07:32

This is hilarious Grin

Scribblegirl · 18/08/2016 07:32

I am on a train here and you lot have me sniggering. I'm sure the woman next to me really wants to know what I'm reading Grin

I am so excited for your delivery OP!

HawkingsMead · 18/08/2016 07:34

I use champagne to reserve my slot. I'm always hoping I forget to edit my order and get 1 very expensive bottle of champagne Smile

I once ordered 12 huge blocks of cheddar as I meant to change the number from 1 to 2 but changed it to 12 instead. I had already taken the order when I realised it. Luckily a friend told me I could freeze it.

Clankboing · 18/08/2016 07:37

Do you live in the Midlands? I love ice cream!

Joinourclub · 18/08/2016 07:37

Mmmm I had to google nobbly bobbly. Yum. I used to love a fab. Not as much as a zoom though.

MimsyBorogroves · 18/08/2016 07:39

It's going to be disappointing if you get a crap substitution. Sad

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 18/08/2016 07:48

Grin I did this once with £40 worth of sun cream to save the slot. Not quite as bad as your nobbly bobbly! I was lucky as the delivery slot was after customer services opened. I rang them at 9am on the dot and they were fine about it and refunded the order. The delivery people have always told me you can refuse anything and send it back although I'm not sure where you stand refusing all that ice cream! It is obviously going to be a mistake that you made that order.

BrieAndChilli · 18/08/2016 07:50

Should have gone for magnums, I could eat my way through £40 worth of them without having to even put any in the freezer!!!

Ivechangedmyname1 · 18/08/2016 07:55

Lmao at one mushroom in a bag!

I'll be chuckling about that for ages.

I was also thinking that they don't have 160 knobblys in stock and I'm strangely curious about the substitutes.

I am such a twat, now I'm shattered after night shift, having to take 5 and 4 yr old shopping and...... It's bloody raining here so I'll be lugging shopping round in the rain :(

You can send it back you know :p

erinaceus · 18/08/2016 07:58

It's A level results day. Can you go down to a nearby school and hand out free ice creams?

FWIW I usually put two bottles of gin in the basket and check out to reserve the slot. Maybe next time, put something that you wouldn't mind actually getting (DVD you have been meaning to watch for ages, new bedlinen, anything), in the trolly?

But in answer to your AIBU, no, YANBU, this is one of the joys of twenty-first century living.

YelloDraw · 18/08/2016 07:58

Ah ha this is hilarious!

YelloDraw · 18/08/2016 07:59

I also do like PP if I need to check out - and put in 2 bottles of gin or other alcohol.

Ivechangedmyname1 · 18/08/2016 08:00

You lot have me howling with your posts, I guess we are all a bit shit with online shopping :)

OP posts:
erinaceus · 18/08/2016 08:01

PP may be right that you can send it back? It might depend the online supermarket.

I picture you helping yourself to one lolly with panache, perhaps offering one to the delivery driver, then returning the rest along with your unwanted plastic bags.

blinkowl · 18/08/2016 08:02

"It's A level results day. Can you go down to a nearby school and hand out free ice creams?"

That's a brilliant idea.

You could even tell a local paper you're doing it and you might get 15 minutes of fame too!

They'll be looking for new ways to write about the A-level results and it could make for a good picture.

cdtaylornats · 18/08/2016 08:08

I have visions of a bored and helpful shop manager rushing round shops to collect enough of these to save your kids party :)

user1471443957 · 18/08/2016 08:08

My mum had the lone mushroom in a bag once too! And about 40 satsumas because she thought she'd ordered 6, not 6 bags full.
