I did an online shop but had no time to complete so booked my slot, put £40 worth of knobbly bobbly ice creams in the basket and checkout!

Went to complete my shopping and it wont let me change the order as I checked out at 2 mins past midnight!

So now I have 160 ice creams being delivered between 9am and 10am.

I thinking ill just accept the order and we can live on ice cream for a week.

AIBU?

The problem with root ginger and Tesco is that you only have a numerical option - I think it's set to kg so if you order "one" root ginger you end up with one kilo, rather than a single knob of it.

Dp is a delivery driver for Tesco and comes home with stories of other people ordering masses of one thing by mistake, quite amusing some of them!

I had no idea slots could be reserved like this and now I'm too afraid to try. I've also fallen victim to tree trunks of root ginger and accidentally clicking 6 bags of bananas rather than 6 bananas.

An ice cream party would have been great, but well done to the shop for taking them back, other people need nobblies (ds name for them) too!

I think a freezer full of 140 ice creams would be rather depressing if the weather forecast for the next week is right!

Decimals are your friend here. 0.2kg of ginger is still more than enough, but not ridiculous.

IveChanged. Is DH always such a miserable, bossy git? I get it if money is really, really tight, but it's £40, not the end of the world for most of us, quite funny & a bit of a treat in the holidays. He needs to lighten up (unless, as I say, you're on the bones if your arse).

OP sorry bu this really made me laugh. And yeah, it's a little unreasonable to buy so much ice cream and not to give a shit about it. But it's ice cream and i betcha it will be oven for like a week.

Oh & sod taking the kids shopping. Order takeaway or have beans on toast or something for dinner, order online for a delivery tomorrow.

I've fallen foul to the root ginger before too but the best substitution that the delivery driver told me he'd witnessed was substituting sanitary towels for razor blades! What were they thinking?!!!

I've ordered 10kg of sprouts before. I don't even like them!

I only order sprouts occasionally, and wanted 10 as only DH and DD1 like them, and mistakenly thought I was buying from the loose sprouts...

Thank god when they arrived, ocado said really apologetically that they'd only had 4 in stock and no substitute available!

Brother and SIL took my mum to Italy. They ordered a bowl of chips between them and then SIL thought that wouldn't be enough so ordered another.

The waiter brought two bowls of chips per person. I don't know whether they were trying to rip them off or just thought: 'They're English. They like chips.'

I once ordered 8 bags of bananas rather than just 8 bananas. My Pinterest still keeps offering banana recipes and it was months ago now.

Typical, you order a load of ice cream with no substitutions, and I get "no substitutions available" when I try and order a tin of value chopped tomatoes (when I know there's a whole aisle dedicated to tinned tomatoes in the store)!
