I did an online shop but had no time to complete so booked my slot, put £40 worth of knobbly bobbly ice creams in the basket and checkout!

Went to complete my shopping and it wont let me change the order as I checked out at 2 mins past midnight!

So now I have 160 ice creams being delivered between 9am and 10am.

I thinking ill just accept the order and we can live on ice cream for a week.

AIBU?

I now have to go actually shopping with 2dc, fuck

OP posts:
Believeitornot · 18/08/2016 06:29

Brilliant!

We usually stick a bottle of champagne in to hold the slot.

springstonchick · 18/08/2016 06:29

Not quite the same but my friend once had cotton wool and string sent as a substitute for tampons!

Sleeplessinmybedroom · 18/08/2016 06:33

Ha ha this has cheered me up this morning. Sorry to laugh at your misfortune Op.

Toomanycats99 · 18/08/2016 06:33

Lucky star - it's more of you want to make sure you get a time slot suitable but don't know everything you need at that moment. I do it coming up to Xmas. Book the slot and put loo rolls or cat litter in to keep it.

teafortoads · 18/08/2016 06:35

I accidentally ordered 3 stone of Epsom salts off Ebay. Luckily they can be used for pretty much anything (except killing slugs which was the reason for buying them). YANBU in embracing your mistake. Perhaps it is a forewarning of a heatwave in the coming weeks?

DaisyDando · 18/08/2016 06:39

I think you are brilliant OP and I would like to be your friend.

Luckystar1 · 18/08/2016 06:41

Toomany ahh ok thank you! I'm not that organised but a good tip for the day I am!!

Peebles1 · 18/08/2016 06:42

Well I'm sitting here looking for distraction as waiting for DDs A-level results and this has cheered me up no end! So funny.

If she doesn't get in to uni in going to buy her £40 worth of Knobbly Bobblys to cheer her up Grin

Thequilltosurvive · 18/08/2016 06:44

I'll have a nobbly bobbly if you need willing volunteers to help you get through them^ OP. I think this is my favourite thread this year.
^
DH frequently despairs with me for online shopping fuck ups - we've had a 'pie dish' that was thimble sized and a massive bag of root ginger recently.

Thequilltosurvive · 18/08/2016 06:45

I also apparently put rogue symbols in my posts. Gah!

mrsbee2be · 18/08/2016 06:45

I've done this, filled my basket with 4 bottles of bleach, some fruit ( 6 bags of oranges/satsuma & some grapes) and then a bottle of grey goose vodka (to fill my basket) .... Totally forgot I'd done it to reserve our usual Weds pm space until DH rang me at work to say erm shopping scone but what's for tea? Not quite sure I can give the kids vodka orange! Oops

Atenco · 18/08/2016 06:46

I had that booking a trip to England to visit my brother and sister-in-law. I meant to book six weeks and booked three months instead. Couldn't figure out how to undo it so went for three months. Needless to say I overstayed my welcome Sad

665TheNeighbourOfTheBeast · 18/08/2016 06:49

I'm betting they don't have £40 of knobbly bobblies and and now just bookmarking this to see what the substitutions are

Hulababy · 18/08/2016 06:52

I often reserve my a time slot with a bottle of champagne. I do normally remember to sort it later.

DoNotBlameMeIVotedRemain · 18/08/2016 06:52

I've done the champagne as a place holder before. At least it's a nice treat if you do forget! Ice cream is too but I wouldn't have the freezer space. I hope they let you cancel :)

BoredOnMatLeave · 18/08/2016 06:53

What worries me is will they all fit in your freezer op?

microscope · 18/08/2016 06:53

ocado do an instant shop which is things you usually buy - can easily put that in to reserve the slot (for future!)

Shakirawannabe · 18/08/2016 07:02

I never thought to do this!

Love this thread op

Hulababy · 18/08/2016 07:04

I did forget one time though - shop between Christmas and new year.
All I had delivered was one bag containing champagne, pizza and ice cream. It made for a slightly expensive takeaway that evening!

RipeningApples · 18/08/2016 07:07

Cotton wool and string as a swap for tampons Grin. I'll giggle all day at that.

Florin · 18/08/2016 07:12

I always hold my place with a case of wine-it's not like it isn't going go get drunk! Enjoy your ice creams!

EarthboundMisfit · 18/08/2016 07:13

Haha hahaha, this is wonderful.

BeaLola · 18/08/2016 07:15

I love knobbly bob lies and would love 160 in my freezer - so would DS 8 !

I'm thinking they won't have that many in stock, sadly ...

WaitrosePigeon · 18/08/2016 07:16

Absolutely brilliant.

CauliflowerBalti · 18/08/2016 07:16

We use booze to reserve slots. I like your style.

Two summers ago, when it was really hot, I took my ds to the supermarket but neither of us fancied eating actual food, and we came back with about £40 of various sorts of ice cream and lolly. Was ace. You'll be fine.
