Anyone else not comfortable with this being counted as a crime committed by a woman? And really not comfortable with this person not going to jail? I don't care if there are no female specific classes, (there is a reason for that btw, because women don't do this shit) this person was male enough to commit the crime they are male enough to go to men's prison.

Now normally the onus is on the one making the extraordinary claim to prove it, Pearlman. And claiming you know what it's like to feel like a woman when you're not one is an extraordinary claim requiring proof., I'd say. But such critical judgement and logic all goes out of the window in the topsy turvy world of trans ideology.

umizoomi · 03/08/2016 11:22

Agree with WellErr. The use of the word 'female' is completely and scientifically incorrect Pearlman. Persons born male have the XX chromosomes and females the XY. That cannot be changed. However much someone may want it to be.

This person is a transwoman and should have gone to a female prison regardless of rehab courses. She committed a heinous crime and should be jailed. Letting her off and her response of 'poor me' is utterly repugnant.

That abuser should be in prison. If they have a fully functioning penis they should be in a male prison if they don't a woman's prison.

Isn't is gender dysphoria not dysmorphia? Body dysmorphia is something else not specifically related to gender.

Brandonstarkflakes · 03/08/2016 11:26

it being no skin off my nose whatsoever

Well we seem to be fast approaching a point where a woman could be raped, go to a rape crisis centre for help and be faced with a 'female' counsellor who is rather obviously male and has a penis.

Or for a woman to ask for a female doctor to perform an intimate procedure and be assigned the same thing.

But no, no skin off anyone's nose whatsoever Hmm

NeedACleverNN · 03/08/2016 11:27

umi

You got that the wrong way round

Men have XY
Women have XX

And pearl that is scientific fact. No doctor is going to do a blood test on a woman, see her genes say XX and ask are you a man or a woman?

venusinscorpio · 03/08/2016 11:28

So?

Sorry that was to Pearlman. Fast moving thread!

Babyzoo · 03/08/2016 11:30

It is a recognised medical condition but if you read the NHS definition it is very much about your sex not fitting in with society's expectation of your gender. So a man wanting to wear a dress and make up, obviously more complex than that, but if we took away those expectations of how men and women should be, it wouldn't matter.

Because a surgical procedure is technically possible, after a fashion, does not mean that a man is a woman or you can literally change your sex.

I'm not sure where the law lies on transgender people and I'm a big believer that no one need conform to stereotypes but I'm allowed to dispute the law when it seems that it poses a risk to women and children.

The law and the medical professionals don't always get everything right for everyone.

This is a perfect example.

venusinscorpio · 03/08/2016 11:34

No I'm not the one making an extraordinary claim. How silly.

Babyzoo · 03/08/2016 11:35

Well what do you expect. Prison is for the poor single mother or 60 year old gran who can't pay their council tax. It's not for dirty disgusting prevents.
