To think it's too late to be letting off fireworks?

One of my neighbours has just let off a load of extremely loud fireworks. It's gone 10pm for crying out loud!

I realise they have probably waited this late due to the lighter evenings but this is why people don't generally have fireworks in July.

I now have a screaming baby to settle.

Oh this has just happened to me!

Bloody frustrating.

HolesInTheFloor · 02/07/2016 22:18

If so I'm quite enjoying them (although wouldn't be if dc's had been woken)

Whatiswrongwithmykid · 02/07/2016 22:19

No I don't live in the West Country.

More fireworks now! What is the occasion to warrant it?

You would hate the place I live in Shock

Oysterbabe · 02/07/2016 22:21

Some have just started up right now. I'm in Bristol. Must be dickhead night.

Fettuccinecarbonara · 02/07/2016 22:21

I'm much further down than Torbay Holes. It must be the night for twats fireworks!

dudsville · 02/07/2016 22:22

I hate it when neighbours let off fireworks. It's hypocritical of me since I used to love street parties with fireworks as a kid, but now that I'm old and have dogs I just find it annoying!

Prometheus · 02/07/2016 22:22

I'm on the Wirral and some have just been set off......is there something special about tonight?

Whatiswrongwithmykid · 02/07/2016 22:23

So there appear to be fireworks all over the country tonight. Why?? Am I missing something?

TroysMammy · 02/07/2016 22:23

Yes, nearly 8 months too late. What an arsehole.

ShoppingBasket · 02/07/2016 22:24

Some just went off here too? 4th of July? clutching

Offler · 02/07/2016 22:24

Happening here too, North Essex.

nancy75 · 02/07/2016 22:24

How odd, started near me just as I read the thread title! I'm in south east London. Is it the end of Ramadan?

TroysMammy · 02/07/2016 22:25

Perhaps American Independence Day is now included in the UK calendar considering the "special relationship" we have with them.

Or is it coming to the end of Ramadan, Festival of Eid?

nancy75 · 02/07/2016 22:30

Looks like Ramadan finishes next week so probably not for that

SuperMoonIsKeepingMeUpToo · 02/07/2016 22:33

Here too (Surrey/Hants border). There's been a carnival locally, maybe to do with that.

HitShappens · 02/07/2016 22:34

Here too in sheffield! What are we missing? Grin

LewisFanIsBack · 02/07/2016 22:34

here too in Hertfordshire... so annoying

PinkGeranium · 02/07/2016 22:36

And here Surrey SE way

nancy75 · 02/07/2016 22:36

Suddenly loads going off now, we don't live in a very Muslim or American area, the noise doesn't bother me I just want to know what I'm missing out on!

kslatts · 02/07/2016 22:37

I don't think 10pm on a Saturday is too late to be letting fireworks off.

ApocalypseSlough · 02/07/2016 22:37

nancy are you near D College? Its Founders Day. DD has taken the dog for a walk 😳

RadicalPessimist · 02/07/2016 22:37

Here as well. It's fucking annoying. What on earth are they for? 4th of July is all I can think of.

Tuiles · 02/07/2016 22:38

Here too in hants. What's going on??

Fairylea · 02/07/2016 22:39

Here too. South Norfolk. Maybe to do with the 4th July?! I have no idea!
