To think it's too late to be letting off fireworks?

One of my neighbours has just let off a load of extremely loud fireworks. It's gone 10pm for crying out loud!

I realise they have probably waited this late due to the lighter evenings but this is why people don't generally have fireworks in July.

I now have a screaming baby to settle.

We got next doors dog barking driving me mad

hollinhurst84 · 02/07/2016 22:40

Loads here now! How weird

spankhurst · 02/07/2016 22:40

Here in Oxfordshire too.

NicknameUsed · 02/07/2016 22:41

No fireworks here.

BeckyMcDonald · 02/07/2016 22:42

It's school proms. They're letting them off here too. Most of them happening this weekend, especially at private schools that break up today for the summer.

CakeNinja · 02/07/2016 22:44

None here. I quite like them.
I also don't think it's too late on a Saturday either.
But that's me.
By the way, we let them off on November 5th as its Ds birthday, and NYE at midnight when were generally in a very remote location.
It's not us tonight!

CatThiefKeith · 02/07/2016 22:45

I'm in Kent and we've just had loads. I think it might be the wedding in the village hall

EllieHandMeDownBaby · 02/07/2016 22:46

No fireworks here (North Oxfordshire), but there is some live music event in the village which is echoing all around and across the fields. I seem to remember it happening last year too and finished past midnight. Ugh.

Bombaybunty · 02/07/2016 22:47

Lots here in Surrey. Thought it was more thunder.

flupcake · 02/07/2016 22:48

I can hear them as I type, south east London. Doesn't really bother me. I presumed it was for American Independence Day which is 4 July, but I guess people have their parties tonight as its a Saturday. Must be a lot of parties going on!!

Wonder if we'll get a UK Independence Day now? Can't imagine it being quite so popular. (Sorry - couldn't resist dropping that one in!! Runs and hides)

CesareBorgiasUnicornMask · 02/07/2016 22:48

Shock Supermoon I think we're neighbours! I am also on the Surrey/Hants border and also heard them... Though I suppose there is quite a lot of border.

flupcake · 02/07/2016 22:51

Oh hadn't occurred to me it could be school proms.

BadgerIsGrumpy · 02/07/2016 22:51

We're in Germany, have had them all night. Not entirely helpful as football related Smile

Bigoldsupermoon · 02/07/2016 22:56

Someone's just started here in Cheshire. STFU, fireworks!

Noofly · 02/07/2016 22:58

We just saw a load as well! We're on a night away in a hotel in Dumfries and Galloway and there's a wedding going on just down the road. We had a great view. Grin Fortunately the dog didn't bark his way through them like he normally does.

Dontyouopenthattrapdoor · 02/07/2016 22:59

Just weddings surely? We get them loads at weekends round here.

Lovesabadboy · 02/07/2016 22:59

I'm in North Oxfordshire and have just heard them here.

It is one of the local private schools...there was an announcement on FB that it would be happening.
It was the same last year, but they didn't warn anyone and there were lots of complaints.

TanTanNubuck · 02/07/2016 23:00

I've just heard them too near Knutsford. I think it's at Tatton Park perhaps the end of a concert.

TanTanNubuck · 02/07/2016 23:00

Supermoon I've just seen your post. I wonder if you're near me?

WorraLiberty · 02/07/2016 23:01

I just heard some here too

East London/Essex border Shock

Is it really because of the school proms??

My DS had his prom last year and he didn't mention fireworks.

whatsonyourplate · 02/07/2016 23:03

Some here in Cheshire too. Someone on local Facebook group reckoned proms as Becky said.

Whatiswrongwithmykid · 02/07/2016 23:03

Not proms or weddings here it was just in a neighbours garden. Well the first lot were, I'm not sure about the 2nd lot.

Just had a load up here in Durham as well. School proms with fireworks now? We were happy with a disco and a bowl of stale crisps.

Thankfulforeveryday · 02/07/2016 23:08

We have too in Warwickshire but there's been a festival in town by the river so that'll be why we have them!

themorus · 02/07/2016 23:10

And here, west MIDs!!
