This is waaaaay too much information but I'm just wondering if this is normal or happens to anyone else...

Since having DS1 5 months ago I've found that when I fart, instead of it going out backwards, i.e. behind me, it comes forwards, as in between my legs. Particularly when sat or laid down. The really gross thing is if it's a 'bubble fart' (where it comes out feeling like bubbles rather than a puff of air - DH assures me that he gets both types of fart too) sometimes I feel one of the bubbles go up my fanny, actually entering my vagina! And even worse, when I sit up, I feel it come back out. It's gross!

Please please tell me I'm not the only one!

Where is AbsduCroissant when you need her.

icy121 · 22/05/2016 22:45

Sounds like your arse has changed shape? Doesn't matter how they come out, it's the damage they inflict!

edwinbear · 22/05/2016 22:45

Sorry OP, I don't get bubble farts, no Confused

Queenbean · 22/05/2016 22:46

I love that feeling. Sometimes I try and push them forwards

inlovewithhubby · 22/05/2016 22:48

Oh op, everything changes once a set of human head and shoulders emerges from your foof! I was particularly distressed by post-baby after bath backflow - never happened with my nice tight pre-baby snatch! I'm sure it's perfectly normal but maybe get a nice female GP to give you the once over. I had third degree tears and have permanent damage/ issues but never really noticed farts changing. But maybe everything just feels different once it's been stretch to 15000 times its natural size???

Unnatural bloody process this birthing bollocks.

LittleSausageFingers · 22/05/2016 22:50

I had DD1 four months ago, and i know EXACTLY what you mean...Blush

BillBrysonsBeard · 22/05/2016 22:51

I've always had these, aren't they fanny farts? Where you fart normally but it comes out the front, and yes it's bubbly... I guess it mixes with the moisture Grin I mostly do behind ones though. Oh the things this forum makes me say Grin

Ifonlylovewouldsavetheday · 22/05/2016 22:51

Sounds like an anal prolapse. See your GP who can refer you for tests which could lead to biofeedback therapy. If left without therapy you are more likely to have issues such as cystitis.

Queenbean · 22/05/2016 22:51

It is NOT an anal prolapse!!

DuckAndPancakes · 22/05/2016 22:52

Hahahaa
I love farts. I love fart threads. This makes me happy.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Bubble squish farts.

Cluesue · 22/05/2016 22:52

Perfectly normal

DuckAndPancakes · 22/05/2016 22:53

A queef (fanny fart) is totally different to a forward rolling arse fart that tickles through your flaps.

Ahem.

Valentine2 · 22/05/2016 22:54

Bloody pelvic floor. Here, take this buiscuit FlowersBiscuit

embarrasseddoesntcutit · 22/05/2016 22:54

I love you guys.

Seriously, where else could you ask such questions!

An anal prolapse would cause way more issues than some misdirected farts. As PP have said, all kinds of weird stuff happens when you expel another human out of your nether regions. Trip to the GP if you're worried GP but it's relatively early days yet, your body is still healing.

BillBrysonsBeard · 22/05/2016 22:56

queenbean Good link Grin I have found my bottom burping fanny flapping people.

duck Ahh I see.. I don't think I have ever queefed then Shock

Unicow · 22/05/2016 22:57

That thread linked above is brilliant. They even named them. It's common and nothing to worry about.

kinkytoes · 22/05/2016 22:59

Hilarious thread Grin I love these conversations.

My dd is only 5 weeks old and I've been getting this. Sort of a satisfying feeling. Dd is my second and I don't remember having this before. I wonder if it will stay or disappear as our bodies return to almost normal?

ToastyFingers · 22/05/2016 23:00

I've always had this (cringe)

Are you ample bottomed OP?

I have a giant are and I think it changes the direction of your farts when you lie on your back iyswim.

DuckAndPancakes · 22/05/2016 23:00

Bill - never?
You've never got air up there... When doing the deed? Especially if in a bottoms up sort of position.

DuckAndPancakes · 22/05/2016 23:01

Toasty - I've also got a giant arse and agree that it's probably the flesh pushing it that way. Especially if lying down. It can't escape in the same way as for small arsed people.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 22/05/2016 23:04

Retweeting Grin

sykadelic · 22/05/2016 23:04

There was a thread about this months ago (though I don't think babies were involved).

Here's one (from 2009) but it isn't the one I'm thinking of: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/730215-TMI-but-farts-entering-vagina

Hope that helps!
