Because it seems to be getting harder to buy the non-scented kind these days! But honestly, who thought it was a good idea to put something heavily perfumed so fanjo-adjacent? AIBU to think it was probably a man?

And yes, I know I should probably use a mooncup and reusable pads but I'm not quite there yet!

My 12 year old uses a mix of body form, own brand stuff and has used kotex too

Excited101 · 15/02/2016 20:09

The cheap always (white and orange packet?) aren't scented. Think they're called simple or silk. Pound shops do the old normal but u scented always too.

tiredwitless · 15/02/2016 20:19

YANBU they are vile and they have taken over the aisles. manufacturers please take note they cause itching and nausea and im glad to know its not just me! Own brand and moon cup only way.

AndNowItsSeven · 15/02/2016 20:21

I know longer use always so they have lost my 20 years of loyalty. I know use body form or aldi own.

hiddenhome2 · 15/02/2016 20:24

I've just ordered a sponge and some washable pads Smile

RaspberryOverload · 15/02/2016 20:31

I'm so happy I use a mooncup. Tried scented pads once and it was awful.

So itchy and I smelled weird. Never again.

jadorecakesnbiscuits · 15/02/2016 20:37

I use maternity pads now because they are the only ones that don't give me thrush! I've been bleeding for 4 weeks because of various contraceptive issues so I'm a seasoned pro at these periods now. Sadly

jadorecakesnbiscuits · 15/02/2016 20:38

Aldi own are lovely and comfy like sitting on a cloud Grin

AndNowItsSeven · 15/02/2016 20:47

Now not know!

#dontFebreezemyfanny

I love it. Now how do we get it to catch on?

Xmasbaby11 · 15/02/2016 22:27

I'm surprised at the strong reactions. I thought the scented pads were fine. They smelled nice and I had no reaction.

Error404UserNotFound · 15/02/2016 22:29

It appears you're in the minority with that.

SquinkiesRule · 15/02/2016 22:33

Who the fuck is buying these

The poor buggers who picked them up by accident

That would be me and my poor Dd. I buy for her when I'm shopping and grabbed one of hers the other day, Eww the scent was strong. Poor kid. I haven't asked her if they make her itch, but they sure did make my fanjo eczema flare up nicely. I must be raw, the seam in my jeans feel like a piece of cement between my legs.
She only likes ones with no wings, I need to go round sniffing pads to find none scented ones now!

Yseulte · 15/02/2016 22:33

Mooncups look like jam-making equipment to me.

midnightmoomoo · 15/02/2016 22:34

Does anyone remember the scented pads you could buy circa 1988? I definitely remember having those when I was a secondary school!

midnightmoomoo · 15/02/2016 22:35

I don't like the ones with wings either!

Yseulte · 15/02/2016 22:40

I don't see the point of wings, I'm perfectly capable of sticking my pads correctly. They just make one rustle.

OttiliaVonBCup · 15/02/2016 22:41

Horrid things.

The smell from them was wafting about my shopping bag even though the pack wasn't open yet.

And they all seem to be individually wrapped now. Just why?

cruikshank · 15/02/2016 22:45

Not only are they individually wrapped but you can now purchase scented sanitary disposal bags, just in case the wrapper itself or a bit of bog roll wasn't enough to hide your SHAME.

I'd definitely be up for a campaign against them.

StitchesInTime · 15/02/2016 22:45

I don't like the scented pads, but it's getting harder and harder to find unscented ones. All the shops within walking distance of my home only stock the scented variety.

Anyone know if reusable/washable pads are any good? I've never got on with tampons so I don't think a mooncup would work for me.

TheToys · 15/02/2016 22:46

Umm, the wings mean that the pad sides don't bunch up/retreat and let leaks out (this happens however carefully I stick the pad on). I was so grateful when thinner pads and wings came in in the early 90s (I think!). I can only wear wingless pads at the very beginning and end of my period when the flow (raging current, more like) is less.

whatawhoppa · 15/02/2016 22:46

those carefree aloe things smell fucking racid. cunt rot in a box

Mammabrown · 15/02/2016 22:47

The pink packet of body form didnt smell until i opened my recent packet it smelled like car air freshner i was raging and smelled like a magic tree there is no need for scent

Yseulte · 15/02/2016 22:47

Wings have never stopped me leaking.

TheToys · 15/02/2016 22:48

Also what kind of pad wings make you rustle? Have to say it's never been a problem to me with the ones I have used. The material is such as to not rustle.
