To not move on the train?

1004 replies

TheCatsMeow · 12/01/2016 12:30

I was on a very busy packed train with my friend and DS. DS was in a sling, we had the buggy and I was feeding him. We were standing by the doors (no one offered us seats!) trying to feed a screaming baby, penned in by others standing. There was no where we could go.

People tried to push past us to get out the doors and nearly sent DS flying. I firmly asked if they could use one of the other doors and I literally couldn't go anywhere. Cue mutterings and dirty looks!

We couldn't collapse the pram there wasn't room to do and as no one had offered a seat we couldn't move anywhere! WIBU to ask them to use another door?

Step 1) Fold up brake bar. usually done by either kicking it up or releasing catch and then lifting it up.

Step 2). Stand on small pedal almost always on right hand side. Push handles to the floor.

OP, youre talking bollocks

Lilac - did you see the "And then there were none" thread, I saw it late on catch up so still have a question I posted there....

who is/was evil step mum?

KwickNC · 12/01/2016 21:42

Maz don't let it play on your mind she's being a self entitled tit! Enjoy your times in London :)

TheCatsMeow · 12/01/2016 21:42

Slings fine, DS wriggles a lot and likes to lean over. Buggy is okay but it's stiff and I find all of them hard to fold

I don't class any sling in which a child can be 'nearly sent flying' as particularly good...

lilac Aidan turner was apparently "worth the licence fee alone". Whoever spotted him at the Beeb etc... Well done!

Shutthatdoor · 12/01/2016 21:43

Nice to know not everyone thinks their commuter rights come before a bit of decency

You seem to think yours to block a door way seem to come before all others....

RonniePickering · 12/01/2016 21:43

Esio Trot was rather good I thought.

TheCatsMeow · 12/01/2016 21:43

rain it's heavy though and stiff. I've had that problem with all buggies I tried

I don't really like cake. Could I have a fun sized Crunchie instead?

Only1scoop · 12/01/2016 21:43

Why does that not surprise me

YouTheCat · 12/01/2016 21:43

When this happened to me, if I'd had to walk down a packed carriage to the next available door I would have found myself on the way to sodding Peterborough. And I'd made sure I was at a door in plenty of time before the train got to my station.

OP, you were beyond selfish, as was the stupid, self-entitled cow I encountered.

SuperFlyHigh · 12/01/2016 21:43

lorelei did you miss the evil stepmum one?! It was like Cinderella all over again!

Only1scoop · 12/01/2016 21:43

Does DG know yet?

KwickNC · 12/01/2016 21:44

Lorei evil step mum is a woman who bagged her friends ex husband at said friends funeral then decided that he was allowed to be a parent to his daughter basically - his daughter had anxiety etc after her mum dying whilst at uni and evil step mum wasn't happy about the daughter phoning her dad to help her amongst other things.

Sirzy · 12/01/2016 21:44

Practise putting it down at home then! Or if you are using public transport just use the sling.

Oooh Aidan Turner. He's a nonLondoner; where does that place him on the Twatometer?

RonniePickering · 12/01/2016 21:45

Christmas TV was shite Sad

SuperFlyHigh · 12/01/2016 21:46

kwick I loved evil stepmum.

Sad thing is some of the ahem trolls don't realise they'd make great bloggers, script writers etc.... (My Little brother just had a short film shown at London short film festival he didn't write it produced it but has written them).

LilacSpunkMonkey · 12/01/2016 21:46

I've never got the Aidan Turner love before now. Doesn't do it for me in Poldark with long hair.

But in And Then There Were None...oh my!

I may marry him.

TheCatsMeow · 12/01/2016 21:46

Sirzy I think next time I will just use the sling

OP posts:
ilovesooty · 12/01/2016 21:46

No I need should end up missing their stop because you think you're entitled to block the door.
I don't think I've ever seen someone so stubbornly refuse to accept how selfish and unreasonable they are

53rdAndBird · 12/01/2016 21:46

Aidan Turner can tell me to move down the carriage any day of the week, I'll tell you.
