AIBU to find Kate Middleton really annoying ? It's probably just me but I find her so smug. Anyway feel much better for getting that off my chest !!!

Perhaps she wanted to be at home with her kids?

katemiddletonsothermum · 27/09/2015 13:35

Actually, I find her rather endearing, for some reason.

I still think that going to see Wales V England is not classed as "work" though.

RadiatorDummy · 27/09/2015 13:35

Imperialblether, I am not saying I have no respect for people with no jobs. For example, I have huge respect for stay at home mums, and let's not forget people who cannot work due to mental or physical disabilities. However, to have obtained a decent degree from a decent university, and to have not held down a long term job till 29/30, I find very strange.

When I refer to a role model, I am not talking anything grand here, no great adventurers and Mother Teresas etc, just someone who has had a bit of life experience behind them, and I think you get a lot of that through DOING things. Not asking too much here are we?!

I cannot imagine how different I would be as a person now if I hadn't worked for the last 10 years.

DriverSurpriseMe · 27/09/2015 13:36

How do you know gave birth without wincing, where you in the delivery room with her. Are you a royal midwife.?

Joffrey didn't say that, she said Kate was able to walk without wincing only hours after giving birth, which is true!

I could barely put one foot in front of the other for DAYS

Imustgodowntotheseaagain · 27/09/2015 13:39

I fear she does herself no favours with the events she chooses, or is allowed, to attend. She's recently attended a sailing jolly and last night's RWC match, but none of the VJ Day or Battle of Britain commeommorations (as far as I'm aware). It risks looking frivolous. For all Diana's mistakes, she was involved with some serious causes, like homelessness, land mines and HIV/AIDS.

Imustgodowntotheseaagain · 27/09/2015 13:39

I clearly have no idea how to spell commemmorations. Blush

MitzyLeFroof · 27/09/2015 13:40

Nah. She seems pleasant enough if a bit dull.

She's nowhere near Noel Edmonds on the Annoying Celeb Scale. I shudder in repulsion if I chance upon his fizzog on the TV. Awful little man with his awful painted beard.

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 27/09/2015 13:40

Perhaps she wanted to be at home with her kids

Does that excuse extremely ill-mannered behaviour then? It was a charity event. My friend was pretty shocked by it - he had expected to like her.

Northernlurker · 27/09/2015 13:44

Imust - did you miss her visit the prison this week? And her other fairly recent visits supporting both childrens hospices and addiction charities.

Osolea · 27/09/2015 13:54

Keith Lemon isn't a real person, it's a character played by the comedian Leigh Francis.

I know, but it couldn't remember his real name, and the only time I saw him out of character on telly he was equally as cringey!

Fratelli · 27/09/2015 13:56

I've never personally met her so I couldn't possibly judge.

Osolea · 27/09/2015 13:58

I fear she does herself no favours with the events she chooses, or is allowed, to attend.

Maybe, considering the restrictions that are now on her as a member of the royal family, she chooses to enjoy the opportunities that are open to her, be mindful of the fact that she's got years ahead of her in the public eye when she doesn't have small children to add to the 'good' things that she does, and doesn't want to live according to whether people who already don't like her see her as frivolous.

SoupDragon · 27/09/2015 13:58

Yawn.

QuietIsland2 · 27/09/2015 14:01

I think she's probably a size 6 Joffrey

BarbarianMum · 27/09/2015 14:04

I'm just amazed that there are so many people on here who know her well enough to form an opinion.

Sparklingbrook · 27/09/2015 14:06

YANBU finding her annoying, YABU to start a thread on MN about it. But if it's made you feel better....

squidzin · 27/09/2015 14:11

I'm anti Royal. It pains me to say the Wills and Kate coupling has probably saved the plight of the Brit Royal Family. They are both so sickeningly photogenic and non controversial. There is nothing of real substance you can say about Kate. She is a woman. She gives birth. She has hair.

Diana, however was unattractively "political" in how she drew attention to global poverty, eating disorders and inequalities etc. How dare she.

squidzin · 27/09/2015 14:13

YANBU.

Because I am inherently against the false monarchy. Kate, were she to be beheaded, probably wouldnt deserve it.

ImperialBlether · 27/09/2015 14:14

Diana was political? Really?

ALassUnparalleled · 27/09/2015 14:15

Another Sandi Toksvig hater here
She was good on The News Quiz but was utterly dire on Question Time recently. It was on in the background and I wasn't really paying any attention when suddenly there was someone shrieking in an almost comedy RP accent and babbling 19 to the dozen. She sounded demented. It's not often listening to Alex Salmond is a better option but she was painful to listen to.

I still think that going to see Wales V England is not classed as "work" though

I'd sooner go to work any day than attend a sporting event, especially rugby.

MNetter15 · 27/09/2015 14:16

I saw her on TV at the Wales v England rugby last night and just thought to myself how lucky she is. She really is the girl who has everything....

I don't like or dislike her but I find her 'concerned' facial expressions or 'excited' and 'disappointed' face during sporting events so fake. She just doesn't seem a bit genuine in anything she does.

Imperialblether, in the sense that she went to Africa and shook hands with starving children of famine, drawing attention to massive global inequality if which the RF thrive on.
Only in that sense.
