OK I want to let you all know that like a lot of mums my age I used party pieces for the chlldren's parties when they were young and because I am a hoarder I have a catalogue with kates photo in. Only I didnt know it was Kate. I thought their stuff was rather good, we would choose, send off our money and it would arrive in the post neatly packed, and gave a lot of pleasure on party day. (and looked good in photos)

beardsrock · 02/10/2015 17:28

Yeah, she's annoying.

BoldFox · 02/10/2015 18:03

how does somebody who never says anything annoy you?

bolleauxnouveau · 02/10/2015 19:45

Mime artists can be annoying.

TheIncomparableDejahThoris · 02/10/2015 20:08

You should watch Tangled. It has an entertaining mime artist in it.

bolleauxnouveau · 02/10/2015 20:46

That's true. How about living statues then, they're annoying. To quote Hot Fuzz "If we don't come down hard on these clowns we'll be up to our balls in jugglers."

TheIncomparableDejahThoris · 02/10/2015 22:02

Okay, I cannot come up with a non-annoying living statue. You win!

katemiddletonsothermum · 02/10/2015 22:11

There's a purple living statue on a bike in the Aldi advert that was shot in York. Or was it Lidl? One of those, anyway. Thought I would throw that one in.

SelfLoathing · 19/11/2015 01:53

The speech she gave to day was really annoying because she was reading, looking down, with her fringe in her eyes like a sheepdog.

That was annoying enough. But the way she kept shaking her head in an unsuccessful attempt to get her badly-in-need-of-a-cut hair out of her eyes was embarrassing to watch.

I mean come on this is a person with stylists, assistants and advisors. There is no excuse for it.

It would be a bit of a cringe fest for a director, CEO or anyone giving a short work speech. For someone married to the heir to the throne it was a disgrace. She looked like a flicky haired teenager.

She's never had a job. This is her job now. The least she can do is manage to not do it looking like an afgahan with a twitch. It's basic public speaking common sense - no hair dangling in your face.

CoolSummer · 19/11/2015 02:49

I totally agree! I actually gasped when I saw the state of her hair while she was making the speech. I absolutely agree, there is no excuse for it. Surely all her advisors have tried to talk to her about this??? I just can't understand why she persists with it. It should have been tied back, at least the fringey bits, the extensions taken out, and ideally a good 10 inches taken off! It's looking pretty ridiculous now...

CoolSummer · 19/11/2015 02:58

And it's a shame because the speech contained a good message and she seemed a little less nervous than usual. But every single time she looked up she had to do the fringe shake and it was, as you say, embarrassing to watch.

Wagglebees · 19/11/2015 03:26

I just can't understand why she persists with it.

Er...presumably because she likes it?

Confused Imagine gasping and getting second hand embarrassment over a strangers hair...

VestaCurry · 19/11/2015 03:33

Maybe her hair is her security blanket.

CoolSummer · 19/11/2015 03:59

But she represents us on the world stage. So yes, I can feel embarrassed when she turns up looking unprofessional.

SelfLoathing · 19/11/2015 11:36

But she represents us on the world stage. So yes, I can feel embarrassed when she turns up looking unprofessional.

Not just that - funded at taxpayers expense as well. We are paying for this!

It's not about her hair per se, it's the fact that it was hanging in her eyes while she was giving a speech and causing her to flick her head about ineffectually to try to get it out of her eyes. Any fool should realise that this looks terrible and is awkward to watch.

If you are giving a speech, presumably you want people to listen and not be distracted by head twitching.

oldmum22 · 19/11/2015 11:46

I really felt for her, when I saw her on TV swishing her misbehaving hair away from her eyes. She is beautiful and as far as I can tell is doing her very best. I think we have to cut her some slack, we all make mistakes and she will look at the TV coverage and learn .

munkisocks · 19/11/2015 11:47

To PP in regards to Keith Lemon not being real, he was actually a real person which Leigh Francis based the character off. Only know this as FIL worked with the real Lemon.

I'm not bothered about Kate tbh. She doesn't really interest me and I get fed up every day with news on what's she's fecking wearing today. Bet she doesn't have to dig around in bottom of her wardrobe for that pair of jeans you've worn 3 days in a rowGrin

Jhm9rhs · 19/11/2015 12:42

I irrationally dislike Kate Middleton. I suspect she's ruthless and hard as nails. But I have no proof Grin

HaydeeofMonteCristo · 19/11/2015 13:09

Maybe she has so much hair to make up for her husband's lack of hair?

Really only clicked on this to see what was being said now, after all the past threads, thinking it was a new thread.

I don't really give two hoots about KM so will be off now.

CoolSummer · 09/12/2015 13:12

Hallelujah she has finally chopped off a good six inches! 💇🏽

Kaytee1987 · 11/12/2015 17:03

Funny that everyone knows Kate's personality etc from a few pictures and magazine articles. Don't know if she's smug or not, never spoken to her personally so wouldn't know. Do think she has nice clothes and that they come across well as a young family.

Learningtoletgo · 11/12/2015 19:39

I'm going to get flamed for this but what the hey, in for a penny...

I think William marrying Kate is the most hypocritical thing ever. The whole principle of monarchy is based on the divine right to rule, a royal bloodline and the aristocracy belonging to a better class than the rest of us. So how does that work then when William can marry whoever he wants, where will his children draw their right to rule? Is our future monarchy based on whoever George or Charlotte bump into in the student union bar? Don't get me wrong he fell in love and married his 'one'- great but why do we have to courtesy to someone who essentially is one of us! Makes the whole system farcical.

I'm an ardent republican by the way if you hadn't guessed. I also know that this sort of thing has happened throughout the ages, but in the rational enlightened 21st century we're not clapped in irons and sent to the Tower if we start questioning things. So why doesn't this point seem to bother more people???? Why are we just talking about her hair!!

howtorebuild · 11/12/2015 19:46

I too felt bad for her head shaking the fringe out of the eyes.
