I have PCOS & adult acne. The spots I have now thought, aren't as much fun as the ones I used to get. They are more sore & cystic. They don't explode like when I was a teenager!

My best ever spot was when I was about 14. It was on the top of my lip. It was sore & throbbing for days. Felt like I was walking about with a marble on my face. I exercised great restraint as there was no head appearing so I left it alone to ripen but one day I gave it a little experimental squeeze. And a bit of white appeared! That meant it was time! I took a deep breath and squeezed firmly. It exploded! A huge, solid chunk of pus hit the mirror. And then again, doof, another bit of pus hit the mirror. Then, third squeeze, a final bit of white came out. Then a tiny bit of blood. The lump had totally gone. I had to lie down for an hour! Then, it was like it had never been there, face felt normal. The relief was immense.

What was your best spot?!!

Mine was a lip one. Tiny black, hard dot like a bit of grit. I squeezed like mad and it came out with the longest, wiggles line of white gunk behind it. Squeezed a bit more and then it all kind of exploded and more liquid gunk came out.

Can I just say puss = cat. Pus = the yucky stuff that comes out a spot.

My best one was on my chin. Hurt like a bastard, but had no head. Tried drawing it but it wasn't having any so I nicked it and squeezed. Got a massive bit of hard pus out, followed by a bit of liquid stuff. Squeezed it again the next day and got another lump of solid crap out of it. The relief was amazing and it healed without a scar!

My best story is not about a spot but bear with me. My DH is very squeamish about anyone touching is stomach. About 10 years ago I walked into our bedroom and found him lying on the bed picking at his belly button. He told me he had a scab/dry skin at the back of it but he couldn't get it. So I being the hero that I am offered to get it out with a tweezers. I was very surprised and delighted when he said I could.

I have a tiny tweezers from a Swiss Army knife so got that and started digging. I could see the patch of skin but the tweezers weren't big enough to get around it. So I got the big guns out and dove back in. After a few false starts I finally managed to grip the skin and I started pulling very gently. I was expecting it to be just the bit of skin and that it would just come away but it felt like it was attached to something it. And then out came really long thick worm of gunk. I kept pulling and it just kept coming and coming. It ended up being about half an inch long. I didn't realise people could have such deep belly buttons.

After admiring the gunk for several minutes, I questioned DH about his weird belly button and apparently it gets like that every few years. I had known him about 9 years at that stage and he had never mentioned it. He knows my love of sporn so I was very surprised.

Every now and then I ask him if it needs cleaning out again but the answer is always no (selfish git).

Looking back, it was one of the best moments of my life and I often think of it fondly.

Horse with a foot abcess, 'twas huge and oozed green stuff for ages.
Fil has a cyst on his back that mil won't go near as it stinks so kind lovely, dil that I am I periodically squeeze huge amounts of " cottage cheese" out of it.
He had chemo last year and I couldn't do it as his skin was too delicate so it hadn't been done for 6 months months or so. It was about the size of a tangerine and shot pus out all over my black top. I was at that baby for a good half an hour.

Someon earlier posted about why the guy on youtube hadn't been in pain. Cysts aren't painful unless they are infected, what's in them isn't pus, it's generally keratin and oily secretions.

As Lima as its anonymous then no it's not breaking any code. Yes, some really smelly, lumpy and brightly coloured pus oozing and squirting out of different parts of the mouth. Very satisfying!!

hopping I'm a couple of hours from Nottingham, but that sounds worth a drive.

Mine was a boil in front of my ear. Got huge and purple. Realised it probably needed a doctor. Before I could get there I put a phone to my ear and felt trickling. When I took the phone away it was pumping out bright yellow pus. Took a few hours to clean it up initially and took days to empty fully. When I showed my GP the scar she was gutted she didn't get a go at it - she said "ooo, that was huge, it must have been pumping stuff out" in a wistful voice.

I have a groin one gestating as we speak! It's about two days into growing and its sore so if it isn't a satisfying one I'm going to be gutted. Had a big spot on my bum a few weeks ago, my DH is not a sporner but even he joined in for a look when that one went pop! I still have a scar!

It was painful for about a week prior to the day. So once I was in the bathroom and decided to see what is it. So I found it in a little fold. I squeezed it, but it didn't react. I had a huge one on my bottom. I remember sitting through exams and it pained so much. Eventually I popped it with a needle and oh gosh it was huge!

DS (almost 9), however, has developed an irritating habit of scratching the entrance to his ear canal and with mucky fingers this has led to two boils developing there.

The first seemed to start off as a red swelling that got smaller and looked like it had pretty much resolved after a few days. I cleaned it with tea tree on a cotton bud (as I'd been doing for a few days) and realised it had now a slight crust on it so decided to try to remove it (it was pretty much off anyway) so that DS wasn't tempted to pick at it.

Big mistake - I eased it off with the cotton bud and - ahem - the seal was broken. It was a lovely cascade of khaki. I'm quailing even now...

Second one followed the same pattern but he also had suspected glue ear at the time (same ear). Took him to GP:

"Oooh...that's a nice boil there, oooh, let's have a better look..."

"That's the only reason you became a GP, isn't it? Too look at....things...like that."

So, some fusidic acid ointment later and the same sort of crust develops and I decided NOT to remove it this time and left it for a few more days. DS says it's itching and can I put on more ointment with a cotton bud. I have a look at it and realise the crust has gone (he swears blind he hasn't picked it off). Can't see anything dodgy, so I apply the ointment and accidentally apply a bit of pressure as well.

This time, it was khaki but solid. Like a PP, a spherical mozzarella-style ball, but khaki. And it made a sound. Oh god - it made a sound. DS thought I'd "broken" his ear. No - just my mental stability.

This thread has horrified me - I think it's the glee.

Before I went gluten free, I used to get regular cystic spots under arm/groin skin folds (I think there's some autoimmune component to this type of thing). There always seemed to be one or two "active" and one or two "developing" horribly painful but incredibly satisfying to pop. I almost miss having them ????

There's one I get in my armpit it started in my teens as a cist that I had for years that eventually popped. It comes back every once in a while gets me quite excited. DP has quite a spotty back he calls me a weirdo for wanting a pop at them. I've found my people.

The columns of solid pus that rise up like little towers and leave a round hole but no other trace are my favourite. I need help

See - I'm wondering if that's one of the things that bothers me - holes. I'm one of those people that can't handle things with holes in, which I believe is some kind of avoid-because-there-might-be-something-small-and-venomous-hiding-in-it instinct.
