I have PCOS & adult acne. The spots I have now thought, aren't as much fun as the ones I used to get. They are more sore & cystic. They don't explode like when I was a teenager!

My best ever spot was when I was about 14. It was on the top of my lip. It was sore & throbbing for days. Felt like I was walking about with a marble on my face. I exercised great restraint as there was no head appearing so I left it alone to ripen but one day I gave it a little experimental squeeze. And a bit of white appeared! That meant it was time! I took a deep breath and squeezed firmly. It exploded! A huge, solid chunk of pus hit the mirror. And then again, doof, another bit of pus hit the mirror. Then, third squeeze, a final bit of white came out. Then a tiny bit of blood. The lump had totally gone. I had to lie down for an hour! Then, it was like it had never been there, face felt normal. The relief was immense.

What was your best spot?!!

NeedsAsockamnesty - your son will go far!

Does he, er, does he let anyone have a go as long as they pay?

It was my first ever blackhead, and still the best. I was on a French exchange visit, their house was dimly lit, and I couldn't see anything when i looked in the mirror but i could feel an area above my lip was very tender to touch. Over the days that followed it became so painful to touch that pressing it actually brought tears to my eyes. I eventually saw a blackhead but was frightened to squeeze it in case it in case it made a mess of my face. On the last day we went to a party and i dabbed on some of the French mother's foundation to try and hide it. It made it throb. Eventually that night i could stand it no more and even though it really hurt i carried on squeezing until finally it came out - slowly - fat and straight and long with a hard black bit at the end. And then it was gone completely, no mark, no soreness. Utterly perfect!

saresywaresy2 · 20/07/2015 09:32

Also, once, and this is a bit gross, an ex-boyfriend had a big black head on his bum cheek. He wouldn't let me squeeze it so I pretended i was kissing him. I felt it with my tongue and then i went in and gently squeezed it with my teeth and i felt it coming out with my tongue. He said ow and rolled away and i could see it sticking out all green and straight, so i scooped it off and said "what?, i'm just biting your bum!" he never knew. I would do it again!

TobleroneBoo · 20/07/2015 15:24

No Saresy, that is too far for my delicate stomach

SunnyBaudelaire · 20/07/2015 16:27

Grin @ Saresy - that is truly gross!

OK I had this spot developing right on the 'third eye'....invisible from the front as it was just so large, one of those huge fuckers deep under the skin. but this one just got bigger and bigger every day. It was about the size of a fifty pence piece. Still invisible from the front, but becoming apparent in profile - like a horn.

Sometimes at night it throbbed.....

OK so one morning I woke up and it was red and shiny with a tiny yellow pimple in the middle.

I gave it a squeeze and it literally WHOOSHED out audibly and pinged onto the mirror. I squeezed again and this time it kind of ARCED out...and at last a third time when it hit the mirror again, this time with a spray of blood mixed in...

it was the king of spots....

I still recall it fondly.

When my son was about 14, he'd just got out of the shower and I notice a white spot on his back with a lump under it. I squeezed and picked at it til I could get it between my nails and pulled. He had a feather embedded under his skin!

Byrdie · 20/07/2015 18:46

Wow. I'm oddly drawn to this thread. I have had a few of those awful spots over the years but they never ever ended well for me. Scabs and scarring i'm afraid. However there was this IT guy at work who was always covered in really bad big bastard spots and i remember there was this huge one on the back of his neck and he was helping me on my PC, leaning over me to show me something so was using my mouse and was looking at my screen... So i had a front seat view of this thing... As he lifted his head up to focus on the screen it slowly squeezed the spot inbetween a fold of skin and it slowly came to a head and a long string of yellow pus oozed out and destroyed the back of his shirt collar. I couldn't do anything but stare at the whole epidose, missing whatever he was saying. No idea what he did to my PC.

Mrsleighdelamare · 20/07/2015 18:46

I had a big red lump on my chin recently, no head. Then a tiny bit of white appeared so I gave it a gentle squeeze. Nothing from the white bit but just underneath the white bit came a long worm of white-yellow stuff, curling out on to my finger. It just wouldn't stop. It must have been at least three centimetres long. Awesome. Kept its shape.

microferret I was DESPERATE for a microscope at this point.

Then the big red lump disappeared. It had been festering for weeks, flatish and weirdly oval.

I had a whitehead under my nose when I was a teenager, gave it a big of a squeeze and it shot out and hit the mirror.

When DH was still DP, and he was just staying at mine at weekends, he managed to provide me with the best spot ever.

He came round on the Friday night and said that he had a spot on his back that he wanted me to have a look at. He gets a wonderful array of blackheads and pimples on his back, but I have to limit my wish to attack them, as he gets fed up with me picking away.

This thing was a beauty. It was obviously quite large, maybe 5 cm across was raised, but it did not have an obvious whitehead. On initial examination it revealed some dry skin across the centre. I peeled this off, and some thin, white pus oozed out. Joy! I gave it a bit of a squeeze and got a fair amount of thin stuff out, but there was obviously more to come.

Later that evening, I had another go at it. DH lay on the bed in the yoga child pose, so the spot was stretched nice and tight. I squeezed it from side to side, and thicker pus started to come out. By changing the direction of the squeeze, I reckon I opened three different chambers, which drained out well.

I then covered the spot with a good blob of sudocreme and a waterproof plaster, to act as a sort of poultice.

I had a couple of good goes at it on the Saturday, and drained it out a couple of times, but it kept re-filling. I reapplied a sudocreme plaster poultice each time.

By the Sunday, the sudocreme and plaster had softened the skin quite a bit. When I took the plaster off and squeezed it again, there was quite a bit of blood, all mixed in with what was still fair amount of pus. I cleaned this off, and then could see that right in the middle of the spot was the culprit. One pore was blocked with something solid and white.

by carefully squeezing from every direction I managed to coax out a solid piece of pus. It came out whole and must have measured nearly 5mm long and 3mm diameter. It took a little while to get it out, but eventually it came free. There was just a little watery pus behind it.

That had completely drained the spot. The whole where the core had been was pretty impressive. As I was giving it a thorough squeeze to make sure there was nothing else to come, it was sucking air in and out, causing the blood plasma to bubble.

I cleaned it thoroughly with an anti-septic wash, and DH left it to air dry. It had dried up within a couple of hours, and by the next weekend was almost fully healed. DH had a bit of a scar for a few months, but that has completely gone and it has never come back.

WaxyBean · 20/07/2015 19:02

I just went to squeeze a spot on my 5 year old's bum after his shower and he farted on my hand. Wonder if this is a sign of the future and his potential aversion to being a target for my sporning. My youngest (aged 3) says he's going to move out when he gets old enough to have spots so I can't pick them. Fortunately DH obliges occasionally.

uggmum · 20/07/2015 19:06

I left work for the day with a small spot on my chin. Over the next few hours it swelled to massive proportions. I couldn't move my jaw. It was so painful.
I was prescribed antibiotics. I took the full course and they didn't do a thing. It just kept on growing.
By this point you could see green pus through the stretched skin. This was from chin to ear. My lord it was sore and I couldn't speak.
I ended up having to go to the doctors for daily antibiotic injections for a further week.
I was able to apply pressure and the green pus would leak out. It was truly the gift that kept on giving.
I was off work for two and a half weeks and was the butt of many jokes for being off work with a spot.

BellaBearisWideAwake · 20/07/2015 19:19

I once had a red lump at the side of my mouth and I squeezed it by pressing my tongue against it from the inside. Amazing explosion and no fingers in the way of the view!

ReputableBiscuit · 20/07/2015 19:26

You know, some of these descriptions are turning me on. No two ways about it. I am feeling these stories in my love parts.

ReputableBiscuit · 20/07/2015 19:27

I guess a spot bursting is a mini ejaculation after all. Sorry if I have mentioned outright the love that dare not speak it's name.

ShellyBobbs · 20/07/2015 19:28

Not even shamelessly marking my place for after the tots are in bed.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 20/07/2015 19:39

Some of my lost loves:
The infected bite that lifted a square inch of skin into a bag of pus, which burst right through the dressing and all over the dining table.
The double chambered pimple that sprayed onto the inside of the windscreen when I fondled it.
The cyst on my inner thigh that rolled out in one lump.
And not least, the thing that my GP thought was a rudimentary third testicle...

sweetkitty · 20/07/2015 19:44

DD1 got her first spot today on her birthday and allowed me to squeeze it Grin

SorchaN · 20/07/2015 20:13

The one that got away: I had an infected Bartholin's cyst that grew to the size of an egg. The bastard never did burst, despite my best efforts with a variety of sharps, and it was incredibly painful, so the GP gave me antibiotics and it just subsided over a couple of weeks.

I've had a few gory moments, but my favourite was a spot on my neck that I had in my teens. It appeared out of nowhere and was about 3cm in diameter. I touched it gently and it spurted yellow goo all over the bathroom mirror. I gave the remainder a squeeze and it yielded a long strip of semisolid white pus. Damn, that was good.

Pohtaytoh · 20/07/2015 22:13

Rainicorn i saw that and it took me to a glorious place, a subreddit called popping. Here's the link. You are all welcome

ColdCottage · 20/07/2015 22:48

I just watched part of the giant spot video and that was even too much for me. Had to look away then stop it.
How does anyone get a spot the size of a large yogurt pot on their back!?!

findingmyfeet12 · 20/07/2015 22:59

I've just discovered Dr Pimple Popper on YouTube.

That is all.

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 21/07/2015 00:08

Someone I knows daughter had a abcess under her jaw, started out swollen, then got bigger and bigger. Poor kid, her mum still was sending her in to school (where I work). I was covering her class and she was totally out of it, hot, sweaty, pale. Then she turned her head-dear God this thing was the size of a satsuma and I swear you could see the pus swirling round in it, it was green and purple. I was fuming. So sent her to sick bay and TOLD the office to call her mum. Within an hour she was in hospital having emergency surgery. (But I really really wanted to give it a little jab)
