Parking on our drive.

We had a family day out today, and came back to someone parked on our drive. The car is still there. No sign of the owner.

Bloody cheek. Who does that?

Block it in - and provide us all with regular updates!!

marriednotdead · 28/06/2015 18:01

Block them in- you'll find out who it is that way!

AmandaTanen · 28/06/2015 18:01

Love a parking thread, have you blocked them in?

cashewnutty · 28/06/2015 18:02

Ooh. My favourite, a parking thread! Block the car in with your car then go out for a long walk. Or hide in the house.

VivaLeBeaver · 28/06/2015 18:02

Block it in!

pudcat · 28/06/2015 18:02

Check it is taxed. Ring 101 - it might have been stolen and abandoned

SirChenjin · 28/06/2015 18:03

Quite a few, judging by the threads on MN Shock

Have you tried the neighbours? If so, the only thing to do is do block them in, switch off your doorbell and refuse to open the door.

and then post regular updates for us all to enjoy

AmandaTanen · 28/06/2015 18:03

No tax discs anymore, maybe check with your neighbours before phoning police.

peaches1999 · 28/06/2015 18:04

We have parked in front of it. Looks taxed. I don't know why they have done it, we can't get into our garage. Loads of room on the street to park. Why would you just park on a random drive .

nilbyname · 28/06/2015 18:04

Blovk them in, sit back and enjoy!

PUGaLUGS · 28/06/2015 18:05

Pudcat, tax discs are no longer displayed, but yes agree, ring 101.

Block the swines in!

Lweji · 28/06/2015 18:05

The question is what to say and do when they do show up.

chickenfuckingpox · 28/06/2015 18:05

you can check the tax on gov.uk

peaches1999 · 28/06/2015 18:05

One neighbour has no idea , the other is out.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 28/06/2015 18:06

Ooh marking place to see what happens and how they explain themselves.

pudcat · 28/06/2015 18:07

You can check the tax on the DVLA web site. Just put in the reg number and the make

Lweji · 28/06/2015 18:07

How about you misplace your car key for a long while? At least as long as until they show up.

glenthebattleostrich · 28/06/2015 18:07

Block them in, when they knock answer the door with a glass of tonic in hand (or wine) and say you'll be moving your car Monday at 8am.

DeanParrish · 28/06/2015 18:08

Are they in your house burgling it?

SirChenjin · 28/06/2015 18:09

No point in ringing 101 - they will only do something if you're prevented from entering the public highway, not if you're prevented from accessing your driveway (iirc)

SoupDragon · 28/06/2015 18:10

It would be a long time before I moved my car from blocking them in...

Stinkylinky · 28/06/2015 18:10

Shameless place marking!

Love a parking thread Grin

Whopper · 28/06/2015 18:10

Our neighbours do this to us. If we go out they let their guests park on our drive. Unfortunately I believe it is legal to block someone from getting on their drive, but it is illegal to block someone in (think I learned that on MN - I too love a good parking thread!). I'd phone the police if there still there at 7pm and ask for advice. You might have an urgent need to get in your garage...
