We had a family day out today, and came back to someone parked on our drive. The car is still there. No sign of the owner.

Bloody cheek. Who does that?

Ooh, parking thread. I'll just sit here with some Morrisons pod peas - good alternative to crisps.

peaches1999 · 28/06/2015 18:31

I'm currently bathing the kids , and someone has come to the door. Trying to hear what DH is saying .

Surely he is too busy bathing the children.

namechangefortoday543 · 28/06/2015 18:32

Don't push it off.
Keep it blocked in < salivates>

Dying to hear what the cheeky feckers excuse is ! my life is very boring

Sockmatcher · 28/06/2015 18:32

Watching too!

PoppyBlossom · 28/06/2015 18:32

I love a parking thread. Entitled arseholes though, I don't know where they get off.

Babymamamama · 28/06/2015 18:33

Good luck to your husband. I've had lots of parking issues and find perpetrators tend to be very brazen. Can't wait to hear what excuses are offered.

Wideopenspace · 28/06/2015 18:34

I want to know how mypelvicfloor did that blank post.

Also, I would park them in and fuck off out to the pub.

Don't answer the door. Make the bastards wait until at least Monday morning, then stroll out nonchalontly, nodding in a neighbourly fashion to the twats Parkers.

aprilanne · 28/06/2015 18:34

if this is scotland it is perfectly legal .you cannot block a drive ie on the kerb but you can park in the drive .madness i know but my uncle a policeman and i remember him telling my mum this .the police will do nothing i don,t know about england

HopefulHamster · 28/06/2015 18:34

Ooh placemarking!

Coffeethrowtrampbitch · 28/06/2015 18:34

Are you going to invest in penguin bollards after this, op Grin ?

OhEmGeee · 28/06/2015 18:34

Shamelessly place marking!

MagpieCursedTea · 28/06/2015 18:34

Nothing useful to add. Shamelessly place marking Grin

WorktoLive · 28/06/2015 18:34

Who does this???? 99% chance its criminals or selfish idiots, but I once read on here that someone came home and found a car on their lawn but it turned out it was an emergency doctor visiting a sick person who couldn't find anywhere legal to park and in desperation had dumped the car on the lawn so they could get to their patient ASAP.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 28/06/2015 18:35

Is that true? In Scotland anyone can park on your drive?

Bearsinmotion · 28/06/2015 18:37
Shock
Notasinglefuckwasgiven · 28/06/2015 18:37

I'm in Scotland and I'd fucking DARE someone to park on my drive so I couldn't. Grin

Mandatorymongoose · 28/06/2015 18:37

Ha I wondered how long before penguin bolards would get a mention! The answer to any problem parking situation Grin

aprilanne · 28/06/2015 18:37

yes whenshewas .it is perfectly legal .one of those strange laws that never changed .the police would do nothing about it if car taxed and insured .

Coffeethrowtrampbitch · 28/06/2015 18:38

Yes When, there are no trespassing laws in Scotland so someone can park on your drive.
They would have to have damaged something on your property for them to have committed an offence.

peaches1999 · 28/06/2015 18:38

The conversation went something like this.

Them: can you move your car?

DH : No, who are you, and why are you parked on our drive.?

Them: oh we are friends of the people over the road they thought you were on holiday, so thought it would be ok to park on your drive.

DH : well it's not ok. This is private property and you are very lucky we havnt had your car towed. ( I don't know if you even can do this )
There's lots of parking available on the road.

They then apologise, and my very patient husband moves the car for them to leave.

I'm going to have a word with the people across the road tomorrow. You don't just give permission to someone to park on someone else's drive , we barely know the people across the road.

Now I'm trying to think of a polite way to tell them not to do it again.

i would not be best pleased either

Toooldtobearsed · 28/06/2015 18:38

A note left on the windscreen saying you were' flying off on holiday to Thailand for 3 weeks, please pick up car on our return ' would have been fun, but sounds like it is all over???
